Is everything alright inside Canon ? Why they want to suffocate their DSLR lineup ? According to latest details coming out from an interview (yes, it’s not rumor) Canon will not going to announce any new Fullframe / EF lens on the year of 2019.
Major Parts of the interview
Canon promised to release the “holy trinity” of lenses in 2019 (24-70mm, 70-200mm, 16-35mm).
Even more interesting – Canon will not introduce any new F-mount lenses in 2019, but will focus all its efforts on RF lenses. New EF lenses will come later on (there are internal roadmaps for EF) but Canon knows it needs to catch up on its mirrorless lenses.
Lensvid interviewed Mike Burnhill from Canon Europe, however even the set of information coming out from someone who works in Canon that doesn’t mean it’s official. We have seen many times in past Company changes their schedule depending upon the type of situation they face in near future.
But if it’s true then we have very less chance to see New Canon EF Lenses in near future,

ISO Sensitivity
Now let’s check out the major differences between the two camera one of the major differences that you can see is the difference between the ISO range of both the camera. The maximum ISO range of Nikon D3500 camera is upto 25600 where as the Canon T7 / 1500 D is limited to 12800 standard ISO only.
Phase AF system
Number of auto focusing points in Nikon D3500 as usual a bir more than the Canon T7 or 1500D. With the Nikon D3500 camera you are getting 11 point autofocusing system and Canon 1500D / T7 limited to 9 Point AF system only.
Continuous shooting Speed
Both camera have 24 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, but when you talk about the continuous shooting speed than Nikon D3500 camera can shoot up to 5 frames per second whereas the Canon 1500 / T7 remains Limited to 3 frames per second. That’s clearly indicates the image process sitting inside the Nikon D3500 camera is more powerful and faster compared to the Canon 1500D / T7 image processor.
Bigger Battery Life
One of the most important thing is the battery life of a camera, and the new Nikon D3500 camera offers you to Grab 1500 shots in a single charge whereas the Canon 1500 / T7 remains limited to 500 per charge only. The Nikon D3500 camera is giving you 3x more battery life compared to the Canon.
Design of the Camera
The design of the camera is vastly improved compared to its predecessor, yes we are talking about the Nikon D3500 camera which is more compact and the hand grip become comfortable compared to its predecessor and of course it’s better than Canon 1500 D design when you pick up with the cameras in your hand. Well I am sharing my opinion with you.
Advantages of the Canon 1500D / T7 camera.
Nikon D3500 camera do perform a bit better in low light conditions but there is not any huge difference between the two, one of the reason that may stand behind the similarities is the use of same sensor inside the Nikon D3500 as of its predecessor.
But from Canon 1300D to 1500D the image quality is vastly improved. Canon used a new sensor and the low-light performance as well dynamic range of the camera is improved from its predecessor and now you can say that level of image quality coming out from 1500D is look similar to Nikon D3500.
I don’t know why Nikon not updated the image processor of the image sensor of the recently announced Nikon D3500 DSLR camera despite of taking two years of time.
Built-in WiFi NFC Connectivity
Built in wireless and NFC connectivity, Nikon D3500 camera wireless connected to Bluetooth. This BIG reason behind that 2MP file limit transfer to your smartphone or any other smart device, with Canon 1500D you can transfer full size images to your smartphone with the help of the wireless connectivity (WiFi NFC) options available inside the camera.
Verdict
After looking all the major specifications of both the camera it’s very clear that Nikon D3500 camera do offer advanced Core specification compare to the Canon 1500D / T7 camera. We recommending you to get the Nikon D3500 camera if you want to start your photography career with a decent entry level DSLR camera under affordable price tag.

In an interview to dpreview Canon representatives said that – “We want to surprise and astonish you, so please expect big things”. After the announcement of Canon EOS R camera, We have mixed reaction from professionals, EOS R isn’t the model PROS are waiting for. With Single card slot, no Built-in Image Stabilization and 1.74X crop in 4K video mode. The camera has failed to become the first choice for pros out there, however by introducing the EOS R camera canon has succeeded to stop the migration of Canon DSLRs users to other Mirrorless brands (specifically Sony) upto some extent.
Now let’s have a look at the Major parts of the interview
Future of EOS R system
“This is just the start of the system,”
“We want to surprise and astonish you, so please expect big things.”
Keeping the Compatibility with old Lenses (EF Lenses)
“it was difficult ensuring that compatibility. But we think that’s a big plus for the system.”
freedom they’ve gained in terms of optical design
“people who’ve been working on lenses for a really long time have, with this new system, been able to make lenses like the 28-70mm F2 comparably easily, compared to how they had so many challenges in the past.”
moving from eight communication channels to twelve
“During shooting there’s a massive amount of data going between the lens and the camera, so making sure that was smooth was another challenge,”
“During shooting there’s a massive amount of data going between the lens and the camera, so making sure that was smooth was another challenge,” says Kato. “By having that huge amount of data being transferred between the camera and lens, you can improve the general performance in relation to autofocus, metering and image stabilization. And you can also add features such as the control rings on the lenses.
We have already seen the Nikon Z7 Tear down, now its time for Canon EOS R. The Canon EOS R camera Tear down done by Lens Rentals Team. According to lens Rentals Team
…………It’s neatly laid out and nicely engineered inside. One thing that struck me is that it’s not very crowded inside there, or as we like to say ‘they left a lot of air inside’. This view that I haven’t shown you yet, kind of illustrates that; there’s a pretty big gap between the circuit boards and the image sensor. If you look back at the Sony A7R III teardown (or the Nikon Z teardown to come) you’ll notice there’s not that much space inside; it’s taken up by the IBIS system which is big and thick.
If there is some space left then why don’t they added one extra card slot or built-in image stabilization system ? Since in an interview when some one asked Canon Representatives
Canon had a policy against IBIS on DSLRs, but this is not the case for MILCs. Lack of IBIS on EOS R was a result of compromises over body size, cost and heat dissipation for this particular model; they do think it has merits, and will consider it for future models depending on the nature of the camera body.
Possibly to save the future model sales Canon decided not to implement Butil-in IS or Dual card slot in the camera. What’s your view , do share us in the comment box below.
