Nikon Z6 Mark III Latest Updates May 2024

Nikon UK Professional Services will hold an event in June 2024, the event start date is May 29th. Website NikonRumor speculates that the rumored Nikon Z63 camera may be introduced at the event.

– End of Rumor –

When Nikon Z6 III it will arrive?

According to Chinese source Ma. Nikon is not expected to release the Z63 camera in May. The earliest possibility for the release of the Z63 is the end of June or even later. This is because Nikon’s financial report is currently in good condition, and there is no immediate need to launch the new Z63 camera to stimulate the market. In addition, the main focus of Nikon’s new product tasting event this month is still the Z8 camera, and the next new product tasting event will not be until July.

Nikon Z6 Mark III uses 24 MP Sensor and Nikon Z7 III ...

We are getting more confirmation that the Nikon Z 6 Mark III camera will carry a 24-megapixel sensor. This information recently broke out from a Chinese source, which is approximately 90% of the time correct in the past. He also said that the Nikon Z7 Mark III camera will carry a 61-megapixel sensor.

So at this time, we got one more confirmation that not only the Z 6 Mark 3 camera is coming, but the Nikon Z7 Mark 3 is also set to arrive. The Nikon Z73 will have a huge upgrade in the sensor resolution from a 45-megapixel FX format BSI mass sensor. The upcoming camera will carry a 61 MP Sensor as per the latest set of rumors we have.

We received more information a few days ago but decided not to publish it at that time.

A source claims that the Nikon Z7 Mark III Camera uses a 67 MP sensor made by TowerJazz, and as usual, the Nikon Z6 Mark III camera uses a 24 MP Sensor.

Is Nikon testing out several prototypes of higher-resolution sensors?

As we all know, before a camera goes to the final production line, camera makers test several prototypes. So, maybe both of them are correct, but we don’t know at this moment which camera was made for the final production line.

This reminds me of the post that I published back in Aug 2022, when Nikon China accidentally published an image of a 67 67-megapixel resolution Camera on their social media account. However, at that time, we thought maybe the upcoming Nikon Z8 camera may carry a higher-resolution sensor. But, as we all know, the Nikon Z8 uses a 45.7 MP Sensor. So, that means they do have a working prototype of a 67MP body, and they have been testing it for a long time.

So, now the story is taking its final shape. Nikon does have a 67 MP working prototype, and recent rumors suggest that there is one 61 MP too. Now let’s wait and watch which prototypes get approval for the final production line

Nikon Firmware Update Nikon D6, Nikon Z50, and Nikon Z30 firmware update – They are adding up wireless security feature in this particular update, you have to reset your camera settings and then you will get an option to encrypt your images/password input if you wish to during wireless transfer, but when you will activate it it will slightly slow down the entire process.

Nikon Z6 Mark III Prototype Spotted

An image of the Nikon Z6 Mark III (Prototype) camera leaked today. If you look at the image, it appears to be quite legit to me. If you try to explore the small details in the image, which includes black tape to cover the name/logo has small fragments of dust all over it and the focal plane mark just after the thumb that is not painted. In that case, it suggests that it’s a prototype camera, not the final production-line version. So, if you look at the glimpse that is available right now, it looks very convincing that it’s the Z6 Mark III camera. If this is true, then for sure, an announcement is expected in a couple of weeks, most probably before the 3rd week of May 2024.

As you all know, Tamron recently announced the 28 to 75 mm f/2.8 G2 lens for the upcoming Nikon Z6 Mark III camera. The situation looks very similar to when Tamron announced the 28 to 75 mm f/2.8 G2 (October 28, 2021) lens just prior to the Sony A7 IV camera (December 22, 2021), which has a 33-megapixel CMOS sensor. So, I am really excited to see if the camera is coming with a higher resolution sensor at 33MP, full-frame CMOS with BSI, which is exactly the same as we have seen in the Sony A7 4 camera, or if it will carry the same 24-megapixel CMOS sensor that we have seen in the Nikon Z6 Mark II or the Nikon ZF. If you go with the rumors that have been published in the past, the camera is expected to arrive with the same 24 MP sensor. But given the current situation and the way that Tamron just announced the 28 to 75 mm f/2.8 G2 lens that is able to resolve higher resolution, it’s quite intriguing.

Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 G2 Lens for Z Mount Announcement Soon

According to the latest set of rumors, Tamron will soon announce the G2 versions (Mark II) of their ultra-popular 28 to 75 mm f/2.8 Di III VXD lens. The lens has already been available for E-mount for over a year, but we now have some confirmed information from trusted sources that the lens will be announced today for the Nikon Z mount.

As we all know, the overall optics of the G2 edition are much improved and highly suitable for higher resolution cameras. So, it is recommended that if you’re planning to buy a 28 to 75 mm f/2.8 lens soon, then you should wait for one months and get the G2 edition in your hands.
