After Canikon announcement Sony market share rapidly dropped from 100% to 67%. More surprisingly despite of announcing Nikon Z6 and Nikon Z7 Mirrorless camera Nikon market share remains limited to 10.4% only, May be due to the shipment of Nikon Z6 haven’t started yet (will start from next month). Take a look at the graph and stats below

Full frame mirrorless market share breakdown (Japan):
- Sony 67%
- Canon 22.1%
- Nikon 10.4%
Canon EOS R fullframe Mirrorless sales are up for now at-least, and it would be more interesting to see how EOS R performs in next few months and will Canon add more Camera in Fullframe line-up in next few months to increase its sales ?
Well, if you look at Specs comparison or Video mode Canon EOS R in general fails to match the features competitors giving at the moment. The Canon EOS R doesn’t have built-in IS, the 4K video mode is 1.74x cropped and it have only one card slot.
But why it is selling like hotcakes ? Nikon and Sony should do a little research to find out ? BTW, what believe is usability is one of the most important factor for a person like me. With EOS R you are getting 5K+ AF points for blazing fast AF performance, I do videos (vlog) as well as still stuff. So, a Vari-angle screen is a must have feature for me at least which competitors missing at the moment.
We will update you once again when the shipping of camera starts from Next month.

According to latest rumors coming out from reputed rumor mills Canon may announce the Canon G7X Mark III camera on Feb or March month of 2019. In general Canon reserves first 2 or 3 months of every year for the compacts announcement.
The canon G7X Mark II was one of the most popular vlogging camera of 2017 and 2018. But now the camera core specs look outdated and Canon recent announcements of SX740HS camera silently confirmed us that upcoming high-end compacts will sure have 4K video inside. Which has become highly essential for today’s young generation photographers and youtubers.
Now let’s talk about the set of information we have related to the upcoming Canon G7X Mark III camera. We are the first website to confirme you that Canon G1X Mark III camera is rumored to have 1″ DPAF sensor and 4K Video support. Once again take a look at the rumored core specification of the camera we have published a while ago
- 24.1mp 1″ CMOS sensor
- 10fps
- DIGIC 8
- 24-100mm f/1.8-f/2.8 Lens (4.2x Optical Zoom)
- 3″ Articulating Touchscreen
- 4K Video at 30fps
- 1080p Video at 60fps
- Built in Wi-Fi, NFC & GPS
- No mention about DPAF for 4K video.
Well the rumor is coming from trusted rumor mill, but at the same time the Japanese sources are silent on this issue. No compact camera is registered at Indonesian or Russian wireless agency, and that clearly indicate us too that G7X Mark III is still is development phase.

Latest Patent surfaced over the web shows Canon is actively working on Butil-in image stabilization system. Well we have seen and published a lot of patent from Canon but this is the first Canon patent of Sensor shift-image stabilization system.
One of the most unusual thing I have seen in the patent is the publication date is more then 20 year old. If canon do have the blueprint of sensor IS tech then why they wasted so much time and given space and development opportunity of competitors.
Canon In-Body / Sensor Shift Image Stabilization Patent Details

We have seen in interviews Canon people told us “Lack of IBIS on EOS R was a result of compromises over body size, cost and heat dissipation for this particular model; they do think it has merits, and will consider it for future models “
So we can expect Canon will use it’s in-body image stabilization system in their Mirrorless line-up of cameras, Since Canon had a policy against IBIS on DSLR.

Is everything alright inside Canon ? Why they want to suffocate their DSLR lineup ? According to latest details coming out from an interview (yes, it’s not rumor) Canon will not going to announce any new Fullframe / EF lens on the year of 2019.
Major Parts of the interview
- Canon promised to release the “holy trinity” of lenses in 2019 (24-70mm, 70-200mm, 16-35mm).
- Even more interesting – Canon will not introduce any new F-mount lenses in 2019, but will focus all its efforts on RF lenses. New EF lenses will come later on (there are internal roadmaps for EF) but Canon knows it needs to catch up on its mirrorless lenses.
Lensvid interviewed Mike Burnhill from Canon Europe, however even the set of information coming out from someone who works in Canon that doesn’t mean it’s official. We have seen many times in past Company changes their schedule depending upon the type of situation they face in near future.
But if it’s true then we have very less chance to see New Canon EF Lenses in near future,

In an interview to dpreview Canon representatives said that – “We want to surprise and astonish you, so please expect big things”. After the announcement of Canon EOS R camera, We have mixed reaction from professionals, EOS R isn’t the model PROS are waiting for. With Single card slot, no Built-in Image Stabilization and 1.74X crop in 4K video mode. The camera has failed to become the first choice for pros out there, however by introducing the EOS R camera canon has succeeded to stop the migration of Canon DSLRs users to other Mirrorless brands (specifically Sony) upto some extent.
Now let’s have a look at the Major parts of the interview
Future of EOS R system
“This is just the start of the system,”
“We want to surprise and astonish you, so please expect big things.”
Keeping the Compatibility with old Lenses (EF Lenses)
“it was difficult ensuring that compatibility. But we think that’s a big plus for the system.”
freedom they’ve gained in terms of optical design
“people who’ve been working on lenses for a really long time have, with this new system, been able to make lenses like the 28-70mm F2 comparably easily, compared to how they had so many challenges in the past.”
moving from eight communication channels to twelve
“During shooting there’s a massive amount of data going between the lens and the camera, so making sure that was smooth was another challenge,”
“During shooting there’s a massive amount of data going between the lens and the camera, so making sure that was smooth was another challenge,” says Kato. “By having that huge amount of data being transferred between the camera and lens, you can improve the general performance in relation to autofocus, metering and image stabilization. And you can also add features such as the control rings on the lenses.
We are waiting Canon, just bring it on.
