Sony A5 Rumors Surfaced Again

Sony A5 rumors were started back in October 2013, [Also see this] when we saw a NEX body with a full-frame sensor. From the patent, it’s very clear that Sony was working on a compact body-based full-frame camera (without EVF) to lower down the production cost of the model and reach in the hands of mid-range DSLR or Mirrorless users.

More tough Competition now

As we all know Canon and Nikon both entered in Mirrorless competition from 2018 and now after the introduction of Canon EOS R6 and EOS R5 Sony may get serious competition in High-End Zone. And may lose its existing consumer base too

Sony A7 III body selling like hotcakes due to its lower price tag and eye-catching core specifications. So, there is a big possibility that Sony may introduce more affordable entry-level bodies near the future to catch new users and gain more market share.

Canon EOS R Mark II Camera Leaked Specification

Canon EOS R camera was announced back on October 2018 and now we do have some strong set of rumors that Canon may announce new EOS R Mark II camera at the end of 2020. Canon EOS R camera features same sensor as we have seen in Canon 5D Mark IV. Finally, we have the specification of the upcoming Canon EOS R Mark II camera coming out from rumor mill.

1. Canon EOS R Mark II rumored specifications:

32mp
IBIS
DIGIC X (A different version than the EOS-1D Mark III)
12fps
ISO 100 – 51,200
1 SD card slot
1 CFexpress slot
No crop 4K video with DPAF
No RAW video
5mp EVF
May get a new naming scheme

2. A Quick Analysis – Sensor

From the above leaked specs it’s look like Canon will add a new 32 MP DPAF Sensor in their new camera [we are not sure about sensor resolution], at the same time rumor-mill failed to tell us about the type of sensor coming. It’s plain CMOS or BSI CMOS.

3. Canon EOS R Mark II have IBIS

Canon to include IBIS inside Canon EOS R Mark II and we were the first website to told you. Canon EOS R Mark II camera will have IBIS to compete against Sony A7 series and Nikon Z series FF Mirrorless camera. Not, only that we have also shown you Canon Mirrorless Camera patents with IBIS inside.

4. Dual Card Slot

Introduction of Dual Card Slot inside Canon EOS R Mark II is also expected, new generation of Canon FF Mirrorless camera made for professional shooters are said to carry Dual Card slots without a doubt.

5. 4K uncropped Video

No Crop Video with DPAF and No RAW video as told by rumor-mill, Well we do have Canon EOS M6 II that doesn’t have crop at 4K mode although it uses pixel binning algorithm. SO, for sure the EOS R Mark II will have proper 4K video recording mode without a crop and DPAF support as we have in the lower-end model.

Canon 90D to feature Image Stabilization [Rumor]

According to latest rumors surfaced over the web, Canon 90D will feature built-in image stabilization system. The rumor is coming from veteran rumor mill, however take this information with a grain of salt, since it’s coming from anonymous sources.

It all started when we have published Canon is working for built-in image stabilization for DSLRs back on Nov 2018.

In general a patent takes two to three years to become a product. So, if we have spotted a DSLR Image stabilization unit patent back on 2018 then we can expect a DSLR camera with IS in 2020.

IS in FF DSLR before APS-C ?

We all know and Nikon is rumored to bring Image Stabilization inside Nikon D6 DSLR before 2020 Olympics. So, it do make a high possibility that upcoming Canon 1DX Mark III will carry built-in Image stabilization system inside it.

We already have three patents on IBIS – on a mobile matrix and stabilization, Canon is currently developing a matrix stabilization technology – it will be coming soon. Other companies had a huge amount of problems with this. They test it essentially on users.

Canon into DSLR cannibalization from 2018

It clearly means, if they bring a new technology (Like IS unit or BSI CMOS sensor or a new image processor) they will first prefer Mirrorless camera instead of DSLRs.

That’s why they have selected EOS M50 camera to introduce Digic 8 image processor, first Canon APS-C Mirrorless camera to shoot 4K videos at 24p. Also first APS-C camera to feature .CR3 (3rd gen of RAW files) and also C-RAW which takes approx 40% less space compared to conventional RAW file.

In previous interviews Canon rep. told us that due to cost factor they were not able to introduce Image Stabilization inside EOS R camera.

So, they may prefer Canon EOS R Professional Mirroless camera or Canon EOS M5 Mark II to introduce Image stabilization inside FF or APS-C camera line-up.

About Canon 90D with Image Stabilization

Canon 90D can have Image Stabilization unit inside if Canon Marketing team wish to, otherwise they will prefer a APS-C Mirrorless camera for introducing Image Stabilization in APS-C Lineup before DSLRs.

Canon to Improve Lens Standby Mode and more...

Canon is working to improve Lens standby mode, to make it more energy efficient and minimize wake up as much as possible. Future Mirrorless lenses arrive with improved built-in internal memory and customized functions that will allow users to have more options than of now.

As we know Nikon already working to introduce pressure sensor as well as Bio-metric sensor in future mirrorless camera and lenses. May be Canon is also moving in the same way… We will update you soon as we get any new information.

Sony Affordable Fullframe Camera Rumor Update

According to latest rumors Sony is rumored to announce a new full frame amount mirrorless camera soon with very affordable price tag which is approx $1500 only.

Announcement on Photokina 2018 ?

According to latest rumors the Sony A5 / Affordable fullframe mirrorless camera is expected to arrive on Photokina 2018. But at the same time the source is new and hence take this rumor with a grain of salt.

The rumor isn’t new and floating on web from past few years that Sony Affordable fullframe Mirrorless camera is coming.

Canon Registered a New Compact Camera - PC 2357

Canon register a new compact camera today, the code name of the camera PC 2357. The camera first surfaced at Indonesian wireless certification agency. The camera have wireless module WM 600, which is now found in most of the Canon compact, mirrorless and DSLR cameras. According to the Registration List, Canon have only one compact camera registered at wireless certification Agencies. So we can’t expect any more compacts in few moths, possibly we will G or SX Series compact is next.

We have been told in past the Canon G7X Mark III is coming with new 1inch DPAF sensor, 4K video and lot’s of enhanced feature. At the same time Canon G5X Mark II and Canon SX100 HS arrival is also expected in near future.

Panasonic Working on Advance Hybrid Image Stabilization

A new Hybrid Image Stabilization patent from Panasonic surfaced over the web. That, clearly shows Panasonic is working to improve the image stabilization system. Well, Panasonic is one of the world leading mirrorless makers and they do offer Hybrid IS in most of their cameras. However, they are step behind Olympus Hybrid IS systems and with E-M1 Mark II camera which offer IS upto 6.5 Stops when used with Olympus lenses.
