Leica filed a trademark application for “Q2” few weeks ago according to the information we have from trusted Japanese sources. That clearly indicates Leica is actively working to bring up the successor of the Leica Q fullframe Mirrorless camera.
Leica Q was announced on Jun 2015, So we can expect the arrival of Leica Q2 camera at the end of 2018 Or they can pick up Photokina event for Leica Q2 announcement.
Leica Q was limited to Full HD Recording mode (Leica Q full specs at B&H), we do expect that Leica Q2 will get 4K video and L-log support which is already present inside the SL series camera. A decent core specs upgrade is also expected with improvement in AF speed of the camera. The original Q version was also mission external mic. port so this time we do expect Leica will add it to improve user experience while creating a pro video.

Sony registered a new Mirrorless WW 771132 camera at wireless certification agency. Take a look the details reveled by the Japanese sources

So, at the moment we have very few details available about the upcoming camera. According to Japanese sources, the registered camera is a Mirrorless and not a compact, So that also indicates Sony RX100 VI isn’t coming anytime soon.
And now look at the details we have, Just few weeks ago we have published a rumored set specification of the Sony A6700 Mirrorless camera. The new Sony A6700 camera is coming with advance AF system, eye-tracking feature and a option to record 4K at 60p.

2. Better low light performance, standard ISO do touch the 51200 mark

And we do expect Sony will first announce the Sony A6500 successor, Sony A6700 and after that we will going to see the Sony A7S III camera. Canon overall profit increased up to 4% in the first quarter of result. The overall profit of the company increased due to the high demand of chip making equipment across Asian countries. But, again Digital Camera sales dropped upto 8% in the first quarter of 2018. And that’s really a sad news for digital cameras giant like Canon.

As we have already told you in one of our articles published few days ago that photography is all time popular. Instagram other social sharing sites are booming up with billion’s of images. YouTube is now more and more crowded than ever before, so that clearly indicates that people still love photography, but the means and the standard of taking photograph has been changed dramatically and these cameras giant must understand that what people actually want right now and how to satisfy their own needs. Yes, they do make concrete professional cameras but to survive in the market this should make Pro grade compact cameras with Android operating system as well as this should also include computational photography technology by including multiple camera module in one, to generate DSLR like images. The only way to survive in this ever changing market is to adapt the new changes as quickly as possible.

Finally we have rumored set of specification of the upcoming A6700 or Sony A7000 camera. Name isn’t confirmed yet. The camera is said to be feature 4K HDR Mode and A6700 prototypes do record 4K at 60fps in it’s early test stage, but the feature will going to remain the final production version of the A6700 camera is still not confirmed.

First of all, I am really excited to see the overall core specs of the camera. Keep in mind these rumors are coming from anonymous sources, so keep it with grain of salt.
What I am expecting from Sony A6700
I am expecting that Sony A6700 camera must have a fully articulating screen and that will make it a perfect camera for online content creators. Introduction of Dual SD card slot is also on my wish list as well as their should be some sort of High Resolution Mode, similar to other Sony flagship alpha Fullframe cameras.

Well that’s a matter of concern anyone who is associated with camera industry. As you can see the camera announcement has decreased tremendously from 2013, and after every year we are facing a big drop in the number camera announcement.
As you can see in the graph last year only 31 New camera was introduced, which is approx 50% less compared to previous year of camera announcement. It’s very clear and important to understand that Digital camera sales are falling down, but interchangeable system sales are safe and we haven’t seen any bid down or up with the stats of system cameras.
CES show was a platform for the announcement compact cameras. But, surprisingly this year CES show was completely blank and not a single compact camera was announced in the show.
The compact camera sales almost touched the ground and only few pro compacts with big sensors are able to attract limited customers.

The big reason behind the drop of camera in the sales digital camera is introduction of smartphones with camera module and advance OS which can cross connect social media platforms, that allow users to quickly upload the images.

Image uploading apps specifically Instagram growth is viral, as you can see every year more and more users are connecting with each other and sharing their stories and images. That clearly indicates people do love cameras which are socially connected and compact in size.

Laowa 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 FE Zoom
This lens is currently the widest zoom lens available for Sony full frame E-mount cameras. Designed primarily for travel photography, Venus optics have managed to compress the size to smallest in its class, less than 10 inch (<10cm) and only 1.1 pounds (<500g). The 102° (18mm) to 130° (10mm) angle of view provides flexibility for photographers to compose landscape or architecture photos with ease. The lens houses with 14 elements in 10 groups with 2 aspherical elements & 1 extra-low dispersion element to deliver exceptional performance. It can focus as close as 15cm for some mini-macro shooting. A rear filter slot is included to fit with 37 mm filter. Click/clickless aperture can be toggled by the switch on the lens barrel.
Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO
Followed by the success of the Laowa 60mm f/2.8 2:1 Macro, the 100mm f/2.8 2:1 Macro is the 2nd member of Laowa 2:1 macro line-up. This new 100mm lens can cover full frame sensor size and focus from 2:1 magnification to infinity. The wide magnification range allows macro photographers to capture subject at any sizes. This 100mm portrait lens also features an apochromatic (APO) characteristic that no chromatic aberration can be found. The 12 elements in 10 groups optics design delivers a crystal sharpness image in both macro and tele distances. Canon EF / Nikon AI / Pentax K / Sony FE mounts are available.
Laowa 17mm f/4 GFX Zero-D
This is currently the widest available native lens option for Fujifilm G-mount cameras. The new Laowa 17mm f/4 GFX has a field of view equivalent to 13mm in 35mm format (113°). Featuring a close-to-zero distortion and 86mm filter thread, this lens is ideally suited for landscape, architecture & interior photography. The 21 elements in 14 groups design with 2pcs of aspherical & 3pcs of Extra-low dispersion elements successfully help to control the distortion & chromatic aberrations to the minimal.
Laowa 4mm f/2.8 Fisheye MFT
Featuring a 210° angle of view, this lens delivers unique circular fisheye field of view on Micro four thirds cameras. The ultra-wide angle view allows photographers to create 360° panorama with ease. Despite the unique & ultra-wide perspective, the lens only weighs 0.3 pounds (135g). Availability
All four lenses will be available for trial at Venus Optics’ booth (T225) in Beijing P&E Imaging fair during 3rd-6th May 2019. They are expected to be shipped in mid/late 2018. Exact shipping date and pricing are to be confirmed.
