Is Sony to kill the Fuji GFX lineup with its super-resolution FF Mirrorless cameras? Sony recently published details of its newly developed IMX555CQR sensor. The FF sensor features 102MP resolution and based on Square pixel array architecture same as of IMX 521 CQR sensor. The Sensor is capable to capture 6K videos using 12bit ADC with on-chip binning/line-skipping. 4K RGB 4:4:4 video with on-chip color-aware binning.
There is a high possibility that Sony will use the new sensor in the Sony A9R camera to compete against Canon’s upcoming EOS Rs/EOS R3 camera. However, we are still waiting for further confirmation.

According to latest rumors coming out from rumor mills, Sony Registered two New fullframe sensor with 60MP and 36MP Fullframe Resolution sensor. Take a look at the details of the sensor registered by Sony, Keep in mind Sony never list their Exclusive sensors commercially, for example Sony A9 and Sony A7R III isn’t available commercially yet. So if they use these sensors for their upcoming cameras then don’t except these Sensors will be listed commercially.

Based on the Sensor specs, the camera is able to record High-Resolution videos upto 8K. And it will become a perfect competitor for Panasonic Upcoming Dedicated Video camera for L-Mount.
It’s better to say the sensor will be used for Sony A9 series camera aka A9R and the camera will arrive at a higher price tag than of the existing Sony A7R series camera.

Sony is very aggressive with its fullframe mirrorless line-up, after Canikon announcement Sony market share rapidly dropped from 100% to 67%. Sony will sure announce more new Mirrorless camera in the year 2019 to regain its market share and prevent further loss.

1. Nikon FF Mirrorless adapter with Built-in AF Module ?
According to Kevin Nikon upcoming full frame mirrorless adapter may have a in-built AF module inside. At the moment we don’t know how Nikon is putting AF moudle inside the Adpater that work independently for DSLR lenses. The Mirror in the adapter is said to have AF points which will help the Mirrorless camera to acquire AF with DSLR lenses. So somehow, Kevin said that the upcoming hybrid autofocus sensor inside the Nikon mirrorless camera isn’t capable to drive the older Nikon DSLR lenses.
Canon doesn’t have such issue
So that’s really a sad thing to hear, because we do have Canon in our front that drive their own DSLR lenses very perfectly with dual pixel CMOS autofocus sensor as well as the phase autofocus sensor. And same with the Canon EOS M system, with the help of Canon EOS M / EF-S lens adapter you can use the EF-S (APS-C) DSLR lenses and still you can enjoy the DPAF sensor benefits.
So, I don’t think it’s a big issue for Nikon also to drive there lenses with the hybrid autofocus sensors, but let’s face it, if such problem Present inside Nikon upcoming Mirrorless system cameras, then it’s really a big issue because the auto focusing of the DSLR lenses will going to be limited by the type of phase autofocus Module used inside the adaptor made for the mirror less system cameras.
Nanda next thing Kevin is talking about the Sony surprise announcement that we have talked back on November 2017.
Yes, even Kevin talked about Sony A9R, We have published a article on January 2018 [Sony upcoming camera 2018] and discussed about the possible specification and arrival time of the A9R camera.
We are talking about the Sony A9R from a year and we are also getting hints about the development of Sony 70MP Sensor. According to Kevin predictions, It’s look like Sony will put a nuke bomb over the Canon and Nikon mirrorless announcement and we may see the Sony A9R camera which will going to have megapixel somewhere around 60 to 70 With more advanced image processor and very high-end specification to flush out the announcement of Canon and Nikon mirrorless cameras.
At the same time we do know that current G master lenses of Sony support resolution resolving power up to 100 megapixels.
And finally, Kevin speculated that we may see a new mirrorless medium format camera from Phase 1, probably next year. They will soon going to put a medium format solution like hasselblad X1 D camera or GFX50S.
From past few weeks we are getting a lot of questions related to the Sony A7R IV camera, several readers are asking the same questions, is it safe to buy the Sony A7R 3 camera now. Let me tell you that it is completely safely to buy the Sony A7R 3 camera now. So, Sony A7 series already have it and 6K isn’t a new thing for Sony.
Sony A9R Before Sony A7R IV ?
Well, that’ a big possibility. We, have seen Sony first announced the Sony A9 camera even when the A7II update was overdue and approx 1 year after the announcement of Sony A9 camera, Sony announced the trim-out version of Sony A9 camera. The Sony A7III while having almost same core specification as of Sony A9 will cost you $2K less than the Sony A9 camera. It’s a clear indication that Sony wants to reach more people and at the same time they also want to make some profit and dominate Fullframe camera market by lowering down the cost of High-end cameras. So, it is also possible that this Year we may see Sony A9R camera and a year after we will have a trim-out version of the flagship, Sony A7R IV.

As we have told you earlier that Sony A7III announcement is overdue and just before the announcement of Sony A7III we have also posted the update with an A7II image that Something big is coming.
You can’t see me
Sony is more strict now and in-general prior to the announcement of any camera from any brand we get its core specs and images for sure. But, something weird happened with the Sony A7 III announcement and we haven’t received anything related to the A7 III camera [No leaked image or specs]. Even the most trusted Japanese sources dried up.. Sony look more strict in 2018.
At the moment we don’t have any information about upcoming product and even the wirless certification agency isn’t showing any camera from Sony [yep no new model code after the A7 III]. As per the information we have right now no new Sony Mirrorless camera is coming in next 3 months.
Big Question – Sony A7S III at CP+ or not ?
Logic and information available to us says AN BIG NO. But anything can happen as we have said already Sony A7 III announcement was an bit surprise since we do know that something is coming but we haven’t received any prior information from Japanese sources and that’s really strange.

2018 was a awesome year for Sony camera division And all of us also. Sony A7, A9 series camera raised the temperature of FF camera section. Being a Canon user I do appreciate the speed of development that Sony showed the world. Sony is the only FF camera maker that offers Fullframe Mirrorless camera under $1000 with kit lens. Now Sony is the only company that makes Fullframe BSI CMOS sensor and Sony A9 is world first camera to offer Fullframe Stacked CMOS senor.
1. Sony A7S III – ISO 3.2 – 6.5 Million ISO range
Probably three months after the announcement of GH5s as I feel so. Since, Panasonic is trying to mimic the Sony A7 series pattern of cameras and as the information we have received the GH5s core specs will dominate the A7S II camera. But Panasonic forget that, Sony A7s II is using same sensor of A7S camera announced back on April 2014. The Sony A7SII sensor is based on FSI and NOT a BSI tech, So I personally believe that if Sony introduces BSI or BSI + Stacked CMOS tech in next version of A7S III camera by having the same resolution they will touch 3.2 OR +1 stop that’s 6.5 Million ISO. It’s necessary also to beat the Nikon D5. The camera is expected to arrive sometime before Photokina 20180.
2. Sony RX100 VI (NEW)
Now we are expecting the update of Sony RX100 IV camera in next few months. Sony already registered a compact camera with model code WW 771132 at Indonesian wireless agency. And we are expecting the announcement of the camera in next few months. Because as we have told you earlier also once the camera gets registered at wireless agencies it hardly 3 to 4 months to get official.
3. Sony A9R – 70-80MP | 600+ AF points | 5-7FPS | 4K | 5axis IS
Sony A9R isn’t dead yet. We may see a long rumored 70-80MP Stacked CMOS sensor based camera sometime in September to flush out the Canikon FF Mirrorless announcement. I am not sure but Sony is also preparing for a big announcement sometime in Sep 2018. The next gen of A7R IV / Sony A9R will get a massive high resolution sensor with 600+ AF points and 5-7 FPS of continuous shooting speed.
Sony A7R IV Camera isn’t coming anytime soon. But as the initial set of information we have. The camera is set to arrive in late 2019. We will update you soon as we get any new information.
5. Sony at Photokina 2018
Sony A7S III and Sony RX100 VI camera is rumored to arrive on or before the Photokina event 2018. Although we have recieved rumors in past that Sony may do a surprise announcement during the event. However, based on the details of Japanese sources Sony compact camera [of course we are talking about Sony RX100 VI] is scheduled to arrive soon, since it already cleared the WiFi certification test so official announcement may happen soon.
