Nikon D6 Coming with Built-in Sensor-Shift Image stabilization

According to initial set of specification the upcoming Nikon D6 camera is rumored to have built-in sensor shift image stabilization system. One of its prototypes spotted with Image stabilization feature and let’s hope the feature will be kept in the final version of the product. If the news is true then Nikon D6 will become the first DSLR in Nikon lineup to feature butit-in image stabilization system. The Nikon D6 camera is rumored to arrive at Q4 of 2019.

Nikon D6, Nikon D760, Nikon Z1 and more... [Rumors Update]

According to the latest rumors we are getting from reputed rumor mills Nikon D6 camera is coming at the end of 2019 or very beginning of 2020.

We have received hints before and It was expected from Nikon to announce a pro DSLR camera before Olympics of 2020. And as we all know that Olympics will start from 24 July 2020. So, Nikon will announce the flagship Nikon D6 camera before Feb of 2020.

Now if we move on Nikon style, then we will be having some sort of development announcement of Nikon D6 DSLR camera at Q4 of 2019 and after that a final launch event.

Breaking News: Nikon Patent DSLR with Hybrid Sensor

Nikon finally working on DSLRs with Hybrid Sensors. We are the first website world who spotted Nikon DSLR with a Hybrid Sensor. In the patent (published on July 2018) you can see Nikon DSLR camera with a Hybrid AF Sensor which uses both Phase and Contrast based technology to acquire AF.

As you can see in the image below Nikon AF pixels are fabricated inside the sensor with light sensitive pixels. As you can see pair of pixels on the sensor are masked. And the strips of the pixels will allow the camera to compared the results to establish how out-of-phase they are. The technology look similar to Canon Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology.

Two sub pixels calculates the lens drive required to acquire AF. Take a look at the details of the patent translated below.

It also indicates Future DSLR cameras such as Nikon D6, Nikon D7600 and Nikon D760 may carry Hybrid AF system inside.

Nikon Patent Stacked CMOS Sensor

Nikon file a patent for stacked BSI CMOS image sensor, stacked CMOS sensors are better than the BSI CMOS sensor because they have built in memory chip which allow for faster read out of data.

We do expect the future Nikon Mirrorless camera and DSLRs (May be Nikon D6) will carry stacked CMOS image sensor.
