Light field camera coming from Panasonic

Panasonic-light-field-camerWe have the latest confirmation via Sankeibiz about Panasonic that it has completely developed a new light field camera with interchangeable lenses which work similar to Lytro light field camera.

The main advantage of such type of camera allows the users to focus after they take the picture. It is totally different from your DSLR, Mirrorless or Compact cam you are using.

It is supported by the recent addition of Creative mode through which the camera does a little smoothly processing .This mode allows the users to refocus its lens closer than in Everyday mode and hence the users get the quality images.

There is no information about the type of mount will be used however we expect that it will use the same 4/3 mount. Panasonic will announce it in the next year, 2016.

Depth Map Editing: Living Pictures provide an additional option for personal creativity with the Depth Map. Depth Map editing allows light field photographers to make adjustments to depth (e.g., touch up in areas that may have been missed, clean up the contours of objects in the scene, remove artifacts or fix cloud and sky scenes) and see the results instantly without ever leaving Lytro Desktop.

Side-by-Side 3D Animation: Provide real world content for virtual reality with ease by automatically exporting stereoscopic side-by-side 3D animations directly from Lytro Desktop 4.3. It is compatible for virtual reality playback in Google Cardboard or Samsung Gear VR powered by Oculus, or stereo viewers.

Lenticular Printing: Lytro Desktop 4.3 can automatically export a series of images with a captured focus range for the creation of full color 3D prints by a lenticular print vendor. This allows viewers to see printed photographs in 3D without polarized or red/blue anaglyph glasses.

The Lytro ILLUM 2.0 and Lytro Desktop 4.3 updates are free – as are all updates to the software and firmware for Lytro users – and available for download now. Visit Lytro.com for more information on these updates and more. See, experience and share Living Pictures at pictures.lytro.com.

Canon 5D Mark IV Prototypes Rumor

Canon-5D-mark-IV-coming-soon

The following text was forwarded to us via a anonymous email….

A friend of mine has just been ‘brought’ over to Canon from Nikon and is being considered as a potential tester for the 5DIV

There are multiple MP variants but the two my friend mentioned were 18mp and 24mp, with the former more a field experiment in gauging affect on AF speed, buffer management.

The 24mp seems to be the target though but 8fps seems to be out of the question.

PS, another interesting tidbit is that the 3D tracking in the Nikons are experiencing similar issues to what some 7Dii users have mentioned.

That’s all I know.

P.S. if you doubt my credibility, I can totally understand. But do note that this is my first time I have ever been privvy to a pro on this guy’s level and he is quite an accomplished tog

Same kind of rumor surfaced over the web via Northlight website, take a look at the test below…

There is still a mix between 18 and 24MP. 24MP is the likely final outcome, with the lower MP sensor testing AF speed and buffer management issues (less than 8FPS is the likely shooting speed).

Again a email we have received few hours ago

It’s likely that the 5D Mark IV will be announced in 2015, but shipped in the first or second quarter of 2016. Today I expect that the 24 megapixel sensor prototype hit the market and not the 18 megapixel prototype. The 5D Mark IV get a modified version of the 1DX Mark II AF system and 4K video recording and the timelapse function from the 5DS(r). I guess that a lot of photographers love the upcoming 5D Mark IV.

We are not confirmed that both of us are getting information from same source or a different one, however one thing is very clear that rumors are pointing towards the existence of two different prototypes of Canon 5D Mark IV camera, one version of 5D Mk IV carries a 18 MP Fullframe sensor and the other body have have 24 Mp fullframe sensor, however the source also says that the 24MP camera body is limited to 8fps of burst mode only…  at the present moment we have very limited amount of information available, We will update you soon as we get any more information.
