Now let’s talk about why I am worried about the Canon 90d successor name, the Canon 90D camera isn’t out it yet, but if you’re going to look at the name cultural then it’s bit easy to predict the name of Canon Future camera(s). But, We already have Canon 100D camera, so are sure that Canon will going re-name the XXD series in near future, because they have no other option left.
It all Started with Canon D30
Yes, its all started with Canon D30 camera. The Canon D30 was a 3.1 megapixel megapixel APS-C camera designed and developed for professional photographers back in 2000. Canon D30 was the first Cannon homegrown DSLR camera, prior to that Canon while developing digital cameras in contract with the Kodak.
The Canon D30 was replaced by Canon D60 in February 22 2002. The Canon D60 was first Canon APS-C camera with 6.3 megapixel resolution sensor, but not compatible with the Canon EF S lenses. Designed and developed for semi professional users.
Canon DXX Series Name Changed to Canon XXD in 2003
Back to 2003 Canon changed the name of its Semi-pro DSLR series for Canon D60 to Canon 10D. Canon re-named its semi-pro series after Canon D60 and Canon 10d introduced in the market on February 27 2003. Which was also a 6.3 megapixel camera compatible with Canon EF lenses. After that we have the first Canon semi professional body Canon 20D that was comfortable with Canon EF-S lenses and arrived with enhanced Core specification.
Change in name again expected
We all are waiting for Canon 90d camera. And expecting a big upgrade in the Core specification when compared with the Canon 80d. But at the same time we already have Canon 100D (entry level) camera so after Canon 90D change in Series model name will become imminent.
As we have already seen in the past that can and has changed the name of Canon semi Pro apsc DSLR lineup and introduced Canon 10D as a successor of Canon D60. So its quite logical to expect the change in name.

Canon today announced that they have made world biggest sensor with Ultra high sensitivity. So that sensor is literally very big in size when you are going to see in comparison with Canon entry level Rebel camera.
Canon has succeeded in developing the world’s largest class of CMOS image sensor measuring approximately 20 cm square. The Big Canon Sensor is used by Kiso Observatory operated by the University of Tokyo’s Institute of Astronomy. Ultrahigh-sensitivity sensor made possible the world’s first video recording of meteors with an equivalent apparent magnitude of 10, a level so dark that image capture had not been possible until now.
The large sensors will going to fulfill the specific demand of astronomical Laboratories around the globe those who required largest sensors Telescopes / space exploration. While creating such a big sensor Canon developed parallel processing tech and new methods to overcome the problem of bigger sensor.

Canon G7X Mark III Camera

The Canon EOS M5 camera is completely outdated and even Mid-range mirrorless cameras (such as EOS M50) features better core specification than the of EOS M5.

According to latest rumours coming from Mills. Canon will going to announce new mirrorless camera ahead of photokina event in September 2018. And not only mirrorless announcement Canon will also going to do DSLR camera during photokina event.
If rumors are true, then what about cannibalization of DSLRs ?
Well that’s really interesting because few months ago Canon officially said, this year we will not going to see DSLR because there will going to be some kinda cannibalization inside Canon. This year they will going to keep their concentration on the development and announcement of mirrorless market instead of DSLR. And probably that’s why we have received some set of information in the past, that Major dslrs announcements are shifted to 2019.
Unannounced Cameras List
Now before we begin to talk about any current sets of latest rumours you have to look at the list of registered cameras from Canon, those who are expected to announced in next few months.
As you can see, Canon have a a total of 8 models in the announcement pipeline. And Model K433 and K424 are Fullframe Mirrorless camera According to Japanese sources. We also have two DSLRs in the list and the model code is K436 and K437.
Canon Next DSLR Camera – No Fullframe DSLR in 2018 ?
However, if you are going to talk about the regular update cycle of dslrs, then Canon 7D Mark III camera is top on the list because the 7D II update is overdue from a long time. After Canon 7D Mark II the most outdated camera in Canon DSLR lineup after the Canon 5ds / 5dsr. So it’s really interesting to see the next DSLR from Canon. However, in past we have seen some rumors that Canon 90D will going to arrive before the Canon 7D Mark III camera. The information we are getting related to DSLRs is completely hazy and uncertain, but we do have conformation from trusted sources that No Fullframe DSLR will going to arrive in 2018 from Canon. We are confirmed that Canon will going to introduce Fullframe Mirrorless on Aug / September 2018. Now, let’s talk about Canon APS-C Mirrorless rumors. The Most outdated Mirrorless camera in canon mirrorless lineup is the flagship Canon EOS M5. One of the most important thing to know that the model sitting behind the Canon EOS M5 camera is Canon EOS M50, which was announced few months back. In a recent patent document we have spotted, Canon working on 55-200mm lens. The patent is very new, as usual the patent documents doesn’t contain a lot much details inside. But, we do believe that the lens will going to have NANO USM Motor as we have seen inside the Canon 70-300mm IS II USM Lens. Let’s talk in details.
The 55-200mm USM II lens is actually a successor of Highly popular EF-S 55-200mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM Lens. The Canon EF-M 55-200mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM Lens Announced back on June 17 2014. The lens is hardly 4 years old but we have seen a lot of improvement in Auto-Focusing tech inside Canon DSLRs And to match the AF speed requirement of current generation of DPAF sensor and to become compatible for future DPAF and QPAF Sensor they will going to introduce Nano USM AF Motors inside the lens which we have already seen inside the Canon 70-300mm Lens. The Nano-USM based lenses silent like STM but they do a blazing fast AF, even faster than the STM version.
