We have published Sony A99 vs Nikon D600 Specification Comparison review few days ago, now focus-numerique just published A99 and Nikon D600 High ISO images, we have arranged both Sony A99 and Nikon D600 side by side ,
Shot settings: scene is illuminated at 200 lux, the Alpha 99 positioned in M mode with aperture f / 5.6, ISO and shutter speed is variable, You can also download the RAW files (samples) from the website.

Nikon D600 images look slightly more exposed, Both camera images have almost no noise at ISO 1600.
At 6400 and 12800 Sony A99 color NR (noise reduction) filter working very effectively, but small dark spots are visible all over the image due to noise, practically Sony A99 images are bit more usable than Nikon D600 at 12800.
