Canon Micro Four Third Creative Image
In an interview Mr Makoto Sakaeta Masaya, (managing director of Canon Image Communication Business Division) said to DC.watch that Canon may announce a new & small system camera based on entirely a new mount (other than EF, EF-S and EF-M mount), so the only mount left in front of Canon is M4/3 mount. The Canon representative also confirmed future commitment to the current EF-M and EOS M lineups
The interview is perfectly translated by user Mistral75 first published on chassimages.com
He says Canon are exploring the possibility of a new mount (distinct from EF, EF-S and EF-M) for a ‘new generation’ camera system with R&D efforts focussing on a new communication interface between the camera body and lens, new optic design and new sensor design, the goal being to downsize the camera system whilst maintaining an image quality comparable to that of the EF system.
He adds that a high image quality will be very difficult to obtain with a smaller sensor since there is a limit on the number of photons that can be captured per unit area.
The optimal sensor size shall take into account the need to downsize the system whilst maintaining a quality comparable to that of EOS 6D and 5D Mark III with EF lenses today. Improvements in the photoelectric conversion efficiency (sensor, optical design, image processing) could lead to smaller sensors in the future. Determine the optimal solution for sensor size will be a major R&D theme for Canon.
He therefore points at the possibility for Canon to use smaller sensors (smaller than APS-C, the interviewer even makes an explicit reference to µ4/3) and never makes any allusion to a new 24×36 mount, either mirrorless or mirrored.

Now a M4/3 system camera from Canon is almost confirmed, but Canon took approx 3 years to announce Sony RX100 M3 competitor Canon G7 X, so we just hope that Canon will bring a M4/3 system camera within 2015-16.

Based on new camera Facebook fans request we are publishing the Canon 7D mark II vs Canon 6D comparison, the price difference is very minimal between these two camera, Canon 6D (body) price is $1899 and Canon 7D Mark II (body) will cost you $1799.

Sensor Size: Canon 6D sensor is bigger than Canon 7D mark II camera, bigger sensor gives more light collecting area, better low light performance and more dynamic range.

Big Photodiodes in 6D DSLR: The resolution of both the camera are same but they both have different sensor size, due to large sensor size and less resolution the photodioes in Canon 6D are larger, the pixel size 6D sensor is of 6.55 µm square, that delivers greater reception of light and a higher signal-to-noise ratio.
More ISO range: Canon 6D offers more ISO range compared to Canon 7D Mark II camera, we are sure that Canon 6D will give better image quality than Canon 7D Mark II camera.

7D Mark II Advance AF System: Canon 7D Mark II comes with new generation of Dual pixel CMOS AF Sensor that features 65 all cross-type AF points, the dual pixel is full active when you are using live view or shooting video, on the other hand the Canon 6D features Phase AF active only when you are using viewfinder, Canon 6D uses contrast detect system while you are using live-view for still shooting.
Fast Continuous shooting speed and bit more Buffer in 7D Mk II: The Canon 7D Mark II offers a fast 10 fps of continuous shooting for over 1000 JPEGs, 31 RAW, or 19 RAW+JPEG files, Canon 6D has lower burst speed (4.5 sec) but is also offers you to capture 1000+ JPEG and 21 RAW files (10 frames less than 7D Mk II) in a single burst.
Video: Canon 7D Mark II records Full HD video @ 60 frames per second Canon 6D limited to 30 frames per second, both supports high quality H.264/MPEG-4 AVC codec format.
Built-in WiFi in Canon 6D no WiFi available in 7D Mk II… but Canon 7D comes with built in GPS.. so you can tag your images with your location.
Verdict: The Canon 6D features bigger sensor and will give you image quality and Canon 7D Mark II comes with advance AF system will give more speed, the final choice is yours.

Canon 7D Mark II vs Canon 70D – Canon 7D Mark II is just announced by Canon with 2nd generation of Dual Pixel CMOS technology, take a look at the chart below for more details …

Sensor: The sensor size and resolution is same, however if we believe in press release and Canon USA website the sensor used inside Canon 7D Mark II is the new one with new one, not same as of Canon 70D DSLR.
Image processor: The Dual Digic 6 processor used inside Canon 7D Mark II gives you camera power to shoot 10 frames per second with at full resolution on the other hand Canon 70D is limited to
ISO range: The Canon 7D Mark II offers ISO range of 51200, Canon 70D is limited to 25600. Due to more ISO range we will sure get better low light performance from Canon 7D Mk 2 DSLR.
AF system: The camera uses newly developed AF module that features 65 all cross-type AF points Canon 70D is limited to 19 AF points only.

Canon 70D AF system

Touch screen in 70D – The Canon 70D gives you a var-angle monitor and touch screen, Canon gives you fixed LCD screen without touch… so Canon 70D monitor is better than Canon 7D.
The Canon 70D offers built in WiFi connectivity and bit better battery life.
Verdict: Based on specification comparison review Canon 7D mark II is a clear winner when compared to Canon 70D, the 7D Mk 2 comes with better sensor, advance AF system and more ISO range.

Now finally photokina is over and but unfortunately we haven’t seen any innovative product from Fujifilm this year, during an interview by admiringlight Torben Hondong of fujifilm said the following words
Finally, I asked Mr. Hondong about any news on the long-awaited replacement for the X-Pro 1.
Mr. Hondong said that it was difficult. Shooters of the X-Pro 1 desire the hybrid optical finder, and they are thinking of ways to bring something like the EVF of the X-T1 into a hybrid finder, but that this proves challenging to fit into a body that people expect. To be clear, he wasn’t confirming that an X-T1 sized finder would be in an X-Pro 2, but that the fact that the X-T1 exists makes designing the new finder challenging due to expectations. He mentioned the X100s and T improving on the hybrid finder of the X100, and that Fuji would see how the response to the X100T was to consider the options for any potential X-Pro replacement.
I was also hoping to hear few words about the sensor tech they are developing,.. BTW we will update you soon as we get any new information.

According to latest rumors Canon may announce a new high-end DSLR next month, the resolution will be 46 Megapixel and price is expected to be around $8000-$9000 USD.
A bit analysis …
At this moment we don’t know its specification but a but if we grab 46 Megapixel from a single layer fullframe sensor than we will sure get a limited ISO performance, possibly ranging form 50-6400/12800. We do hope this time Canon should implement a multilayer sensor to avoid poor / limited performance during low-light condition, also take a look — we have already seen the Canon Patent Five Layer Sensor, and also a Three-Layer sensor from Canon,
Other part is image processor and AF system for a $8K-9k body, Canon will sure implement Dual Digic 6 image processor and 61-Point High Density Reticular AF system (same as of 1DX) or better than that in the upcoming DSLR.
Earlier predictions and expectations …
