DJI Osmo Pocket 4P Reveal Date and Event Details
Official Unveiling: May 14, 2026, 17:00 CEST (11 PM Philippine Time / 5 PM EDT) at the Cannes Film Festival.
Why Cannes? DJI is positioning the Osmo Pocket 4P as a premium filmmaking tool for advanced creators, debuting it at one of the world’s biggest film events.
Teaser Highlights: Dual-camera design shown in official posts. Expect a full reveal of specs, pricing, and hands-on footage live from the event.
Global launch is expected shortly after the reveal, with China-first availability in late May or early June 2026, followed by international rollout.
DJI Osmo Pocket 4P Key Features & Expected Specs
While full official specs drop on May 14, DJI’s teaser plus reliable leaks and early hands-on footage paint a clear picture of what to expect from this premium pocket gimbal:
Dual-Camera System (First in Osmo Pocket series)
Main Wide Lens: 1-inch CMOS sensor (same as Osmo Pocket 4) with 14 stops of dynamic range.
Telephoto Lens: 3x optical zoom (~70mm equivalent) on a ~1/1.3-inch or 1/1.5-inch sensor.
Zoom Capabilities: 3x optical + 6x lossless (in-sensor crop) + up to 10-12x digital zoom.
Video & Image Performance
4K/240fps slow-motion (carryover from Pocket 4).
Possible 6K/30fps on the main sensor.
10-bit D-Log (or D-Log 2) color profile with Hasselblad-style tuning.
HDR support and natural skin tones with excellent background blur on telephoto.
Stabilization & Handling
3-axis mechanical gimbal (core Pocket DNA).
Upgraded ActiveTrack (likely 7.0) with smarter subject tracking.
Rotatable/flip-out touchscreen for easy framing in portrait or landscape.
Storage & Connectivity
107–128GB built-in storage with ultra-fast transfer speeds (~800MB/s).
No microSD slot expected (internal storage focus like the standard Pocket 4).
Audio & Extras
OsmoAudio 4-channel output for pro-level sound.
Redesigned controls and improved low-light performance.
This dual-lens setup makes the Osmo Pocket 4P far more versatile than any previous Pocket camera – perfect for creators who need both wide cinematic shots and tighter telephoto framing without switching gear.
Expected Price and Availability in the United States of America
Pricing Prediction: Around ~$730 USD. Standard combo likely $699–$749; Creator Combo with accessories could hit $850+.
Launch Timeline: Announcement on May 14, Shipping in Asian China starts from late May 25 / Worldwide early June 2026
USA Availability: Uncertain. DJI products often face FCC delays or restrictions – early signs suggest it may not launch in the US immediately (same as some previous models). OR May get announced in the USA with different branding, like we have the Xtra MUSE 2 PRO coming very soon.
Pre-orders are expected to open right after the May 14 reveal on the official DJI Store.
Dual Lens PRO – Why the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P Could Be 2026’s Must-Have Vlogging Camera
If you’ve been waiting for a true “do-it-all” pocket gimbal that doesn’t compromise on focal length, the Osmo Pocket 4P looks like the answer. The combination of a proven 1-inch sensor, mechanical 3-axis stabilisation, and now real optical zoom makes it ideal for solo creators, travel filmmakers, and hybrid shooters who want pro results without a bulky rig.
Stay tuned — we’ll update this article with full specs, official pricing, sample footage, and hands-on impressions immediately after the Cannes reveal on May 14.

Is it true that the DJI Pocket 4 camera is banned in the USA? Just a few months ago, we saw that the DJI Pocket 4 camera received FCC approval for being sold in the United States of America. It has already received FCC approval, so why has it been banned or is it not available in the United States of America? In this article, we will try to find out the exact reason why the Pocket 4 camera is still not available despite FCC approval, and at the same time, the best alternatives that you can buy right now.
The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 has launched globally with impressive upgrades, but US customers cannot buy it through any official channel.
Let’s see what DJI has recently said officially about the status of the Pocket 4 in the United States of America.
DJI’s Official Statement on US Availability
DJI confirmed directly: “The Osmo Pocket 4 will not be available in the US market at launch due to pending FCC authorisation.”
This quote comes from DJI spokesperson Daisy Kong and was reported by PetaPixel, PCMag, The Verge, Newsshooter, and others in mid-April 2026.
lSO, that’s really a weird thing that even after the approval of the Pocket 4 camera, even after having the registration of the Pocket 4 camera, qualifying all the rules just in time, and most importantly, the Pocket 4 is not a drone. Despite these facts, the Pocket 4 camera still faces issues when used in the United States of America, according to DJI sources. The FCC that was granted to Pocket 4 is now showing as pending. We don’t know the exact reason this was done, since it technically cleared the FCC before the ban.
Why the DJI Pocket 4 Is Blocked in the US
In December 2025, DJI was added to the FCC’s Covered List due to national security concerns. New products from companies on this list now face near-impossible hurdles for FCC equipment authorization – the mandatory approval needed to legally sell any device with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or radio transmitters in America.
The Osmo Pocket 4 is the first major DJI consumer camera to be caught by these stricter rules after the cutoff window closed.
Current Retail Situation for American Buyers
As of April 27, 2026:
Major US retailers, including B&H Photo, Adorama, Amazon, and Best Buy are not stocking the DJI Osmo Pocket 4.
Grey-market or third-party imports carry real risks of customs delays, seizure, or no warranty support.
What This Means for US Content Creators and Photographers
If you are in any state of America and planning to buy the Pocket 4 camera, obviously, it’s not a good time for that purchase, but again, we do have alternatives.
Either you can wait for the Insta360 Luna, or we have the previous-generation Osmo Pocket 3, which remains fully available, well supported, and an excellent choice for most vloggers and creators.
Xtramus is now fully compatible with the DJI wireless mic and is available at a lower price point, featuring the exact same core specs as the Pocket 3.
Can You Personally Import the DJI Pocket 4?
Technically, yes — US customs generally allow individuals to bring back up to three units for personal use when traveling abroad. However, you will receive no US warranty, official repairs, or software support, and there is always a risk with non-FCC-authorized wireless devices.
The Ongoing DJI Lawsuit Against the FCC
DJI is actively suing the FCC, arguing that the Covered List process was flawed and lacked specific evidence of a security threat. The lawsuit is still in progress with no quick resolution expected. Until the courts or policy changes, new DJI products with wireless features are effectively blocked from the US market.
Recommendation for newcamera.com Readers in the USA
For now, stick with the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 — it is widely available, proven, and remains one of the best pocket gimbal cameras you can actually buy in America today. We will monitor the FCC situation and the ongoing lawsuit closely and update this article the moment anything changes.

Nikon Z9 Mark II camera rumours are not new. However, we have published an article back on January 7, 2026, where we clearly denied the possibility of the announcement of the Z9 Mark II camera during the Winter Olympics. At that time, most of the major rumor mills and outlets were claiming that the camera was about to arrive during the Winter Olympics games, but we had short confirmation at that time via trusted sources. The camera isn’t coming that soon. The expected announcement date that we discussed in that post was the fourth quarter of 2026 at its earliest arrival possibility.
New update: a new update is coming from the popular Nikon YouTuber Matt Irwin (thatnikonguy), who has reported that the current Nikon Z9 is now completely out of stock and listed as “on backorder” on Nikon Australia’s official website – and similar stock issues are appearing globally.
Such a stock shortage issue for a flagship camera isn’t a common one, and even if it happens, camera makers like Nikon and Canon issue an apology letter for not fulfilling the market demand. We have seen multiple examples in the past. It’s a clear indication that the production line has been occupied by something else.
Why the Nikon Z9 Stock Situation Matters
The Nikon Z9, launched in late 2021, has been Nikon’s flagship mirrorless camera for over four and a half years. At a price point of approximately AUD $10,000 in Australia, it is not the kind of camera that Nikon normally leaves unavailable for long.
Matt Irwin estimates
He estimates we could see the Nikon Z9 II hardware in customers’ hands within a maximum of 6 months, with a possible development announcement coming at any time.
Importantly, Matt believes no Nikon Z8 Mark II camera is NOT coming soon, the Nikon Z8 will continue to sell strongly for another 1–2 years, meaning the current stock clearance is focused specifically on clearing the Z9 line for its replacement, not a general sensor shortage.
What’s Next from Nikon in 2026
2026 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting years for the Nikon Z system:
Z9 II is likely arriving soon
Multiple ZR firmware updates
New cinema lenses on the horizon
Possible first look at the next-generation Expeed 8 processor
Nikon ZR Gets Major Firmware Love – Official Confirmation from NAB 2026
Nikon itself is proactively working to enhance the user experience. Nikon has openly confirmed that multiple firmware updates are already in development for the Nikon ZR cinema-style camera.
Speaking at NAB 2026, Nikon representative “Jeff with a G” told creators:
Nikon is actively listening to customer feedback.
The company is working on a couple of major updates for the ZR (not just one).
Key improvements confirmed include:
New Log 3G10 profile paired with H.265
Significant improvements to the existing H.265 codec (addressing widespread user complaints)
Focus peaking in red while using N-Log and RED NE
“And so much more.”
Additional possibilities mentioned include ProRes 422 LT and potentially RED NE LT versions, depending on processing capability.
Why This Matters for Creators
At its current street price of around USD $2,000–2,150 (AUD ~$3,000), the Nikon ZR already offers extraordinary value with internal Nikon RAW, ProRes RAW, and RED RAW recording in a compact body. These upcoming firmware updates will make it an even stronger tool for filmmakers, YouTubers, and documentarians.
Yes, we are tracking the Nikon Z9 II camera announcement news, as soon as we get any latest updates we will be publishing here soon.

Just a few hours ago, one of the most trusted DJI leakers, Igor, posted a fresh video showing a new drone prototype being tested by one of the experienced FPV testers at an unknown place.
The video is not that clear due to quality issues, as usual. These kinds of early prototype leaked videos are generally blurry, specifically captured in a way to create sensation while also protecting the identity of the upcoming drone. Still, with the help of AI and image upscaling software, the drone design has become clearer to us, which indicates that the drone that is being tested seems like an early prototype of DJI Neo 3, specifically if you look at the structure of the guard protectors of the drone.
“👉Well, well, well…DJI, what are you doing? Let me think: Neo 3 or Avata 3🫣”
The 16th leaked video has been uploaded, and it created massive excitement among the fans, and yes, a lot of them are claiming that it looks like a budget version of the 360 drone mixed with the Neo design. So there is some possibility that we may have a 360 in late 2026 or early 2027.
Why the Guard Pattern Doesn’t Match Avata 3 Drone Expectations
Recall our earlier report (March 21, 2026): A trusted Chinese source who actually test-flew the Avata 3 prototype told drone creator Mauro Tandoi that the next Avata will feature a panoramic dual-camera gimbal similar to the Avata 360’s 360° viewing angle. The flight feel was reportedly not as sharp as the Avata 2.
Traditional Avata bodies (Avata 1, 2, and the just-launched 360) use rugged cinewhoop designs with smaller, asymmetrical bottom/rear vents for ESCs and motors. Nothing like these oversized side grills. The March leak focused entirely on the gimbal upgrade — no mention of a radical body redesign.
Or Is This an Advanced Neo 3 Whoop Drone Body?
The compact size and ultra-symmetric design feel very “Neo.” The original DJI Neo is the palm-sized beginner whoop that’s insanely popular for its throw-and-go simplicity. A Neo 3 with upgraded ventilation for longer flight times, stronger motors, or even hybrid 360° capabilities would make total sense as an evolution.
Some replies to Quadro_News even called it “Neo 360” or compared it to the HoverAir Aqua. The grill pattern is far more Neo-like than Avata-like.
Timeline: How Soon Could We See This?
Avata 360: Just launched in China (March 26, 2026) and now shipping globally.
Avata 3: Still on track for late 2027 per the credible March leak. Early field testing of supporting hardware (like a new controller) fits perfectly.
Neo 3: Not overdue for a quick refresh. No official leaks yet, but DJI loves testing radical ideas on the cheaper Neo line first.
The fact that DJI is already doing outdoor multi-device power testing in April 2026 means development is moving faster than the 2027 timeline suggested.
Bottom Line: Most Likely a Prototype Controller for Avata 3 (or Neo 3 Drone)
We’re leaning 65% toward a new FPV 360 Style budget drone for beginners /whoop controller with those signature grills for thermal performance, and 35% toward an advanced Neo 3 Update. The grill pattern simply doesn’t match any Avata drone DNA we’ve seen.

The wait for the Pocket 4 camera is almost over, and as of April 2026, many authorised sellers—specifically from mainland China—have started taking offline pre-orders for the DJI flagship handheld vlogging camera.
The latest developments are coming from authentic sources, and in support of that, subscribers and WeChat images have surfaced, showing retailers asking for pre-orders. While cross-verifying the information with other users, we came to know that yes, the pre-orders have started in first come first served basis. Take a look at the sort of information provided by our subscribers.
Snap from Chat – Retailers asking of pre-oders for the DJI POCKET 4 Camera
Blind Pre-Orders Live in China: What the Seller’s Message Says
A WeChat message from a DJI-authorised dealer (showing the official “DJI大疆” branding) confirms that pre-orders for the new “年度重磅【手持】” (annual flagship handheld) model opened on April 4, 2026.
Key points from the seller notification:
Blind order policy: No full specs or pricing shared yet. You can cancel if not satisfied once more details are revealed.
Ordering process: First-come basis. Full payment required upon product release and pickup.
Inventory note: Pricing, exact stock levels, and final sales timing are still unknown. High demand may push late orders to a second wave.
Physical retail boxes (including the Creator Combo) are already in warehouses or stores, signalling that the launch is imminent.
Expected Global Launch:
A few days back, we got confirmation from our subscribers that retail stores out there are processing the delivery of their stock on April 20, 2026 – Yes, we are talking about the Pocket 4 camera stock lot of retailers across China.
So technically, by analyzing the scenario at that time, what we have concluded is that the announcement of the DJI camera is on or before April 20, 2026, which seems to be quite reasonable given the type of situation.
Confirmed Specs from Creator Combo Packaging Leak
These are the 100% confirmed set of core specifications which we have published in our previous post. All these core specs are clearly visible in the DJI Pocket 4 BOX
1-inch CMOS sensor with 14 stops of dynamic range — a huge improvement for low-light performance and HDR-style video.
10-bit D-Log color support for professional grading.
107GB high-speed internal storage with up to 800MB/s transfer speeds (eliminates slow microSD bottlenecks and potential corruption issues).
2x lossless zoom — new hardware capability for flexible framing without quality loss.
ActiveTrack 7.0 with improved intelligent subject tracking.
OsmoAudio™ 4-channel output for richer, directional audio.
3-axis stabilization + rotatable touchscreen.
The Creator Combo is expected to include the camera plus essential accessories (ND filters, extra batteries, microphones, etc.). Pricing rumors suggest:
Standard model: ~$499–$599
Creator Combo: ~$649–$749
These features make the Pocket 4 a practical upgrade focused on workflow efficiency, color science, and usability rather than just chasing higher resolution.
Video Specs Clarification: No 6K on Standard Model? Only 4K120p
One of the most heated debates we have right now is that some of the early rumors revealed the camera is able to record 6K video. Sometimes it was also linked with a 50MP sensor and faster readout capability, but multiple sources, including hands-on demo photos shared by insiders, suggest a better and clearer ground reality for the standard Pocket 4 camera.
According to a reliable source who provided early sample footage labeled “DJI Osmo Pocket 4”:
The base/standard model supports 4K at 120fps (excellent for smooth slow-motion) but does not include 6K recording.
The much-discussed 6K capability appears tied to hype around a potential Pocket 4 Pro variant (possibly with dual-camera setup) or early overstated leaks.
The packaging leak you covered does not advertise 6K, which further supports this clarification. For most creators, 4K120p + 14-stop DR + 10-bit D-Log will deliver far more usable footage than chasing 6K with potential heat or battery trade-offs.
Why These Updates Matter for Buyers
No more storage headaches: 107GB at 800MB/s is a game-changer for long vlogs or high-bitrate recording.
Better image quality: 14 stops of dynamic range and strong 1-inch sensor performance should shine in challenging lighting.
Creator-friendly: 2x lossless zoom, 4-channel audio, and ActiveTrack 7.0 make it ideal for solo vlogging and run-and-gun shooting.
When DJI Pocket 4 Standard Model Pre-order will Start in the USA
As we all know, the official announcement is about to happen soon, and most probably from , mid-to-late April 2026. The pre-order lines will become available on websites like B&H Store and Amazon.com in the United States of America.
And since the Pocket 4 camera has already cleared the FCC, then obviously, there is no issue related to this device being sold in the United States of America. Be ready for the standard edition coming soon in the US marketplace.
If you’re in mainland China or have access to local dealers, the current blind pre-order is a low-commitment way to get in early. Compared to the Pocket 3, the Pocket 4 looks like a refined, more practical evolution — focusing on real-world usability upgrades rather than flashy spec jumps.
What do you think? Will the combination of 107GB storage and 14-stop DR make you upgrade? Or are you holding out for a possible Pocket 4 Pro with 6K? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
