DJI is testing the second generation of the Osmo 360 camera, and the images have surfaced on the web. An authentic source Igor Bogdanov (@Quadro_News). The Images shared by him clearly show that DJI is now preparing to announce the Osmo 360 II.

Both are against each other in a test, and the details for now are only limited to the tester, but for sure we do know from the registration details of the Osmo 360 II camera that it has a bigger battery compared to the original Osmo 360. From the physical appearance, it looks like the lens and the 1/1.1-inch Type CMOS sensor (2 lenses) we have with the original Osmo 360 are expected to remain the same.
Background: Osmo 360 and Its Successor
Back in January 2026, we reported on the FCC filing for the DJI Osmo 360 II (Model OQ002, FCC ID: 2ANDR-OQ0022512). At the time, the main confirmed change was a larger 2150mAh battery. The Latest images do make us believe that development and real-world testing are ongoing.
DJI launched its first-ever 360° camera, the Osmo 360, on July 31, 2025. It featured dual 1/1.1-inch square sensors, native 8K/50fps 360° video, up to 120MP photos, and strong low-light performance. It quickly positioned itself as a serious alternative to the Insta360 X5.
In December 2025, the Osmo 360 II (model OQ002) appeared in FCC filings. The main confirmed hardware change at the time was a larger battery (2150mAh compared to 1950mAh in the original), suggesting improved recording times. Earlier reports had pointed toward a possible launch window between March and June 2026.
As of mid-July 2026, DJI has not yet officially announced the Osmo 360 II. This latest sighting indicates that development and testing are well underway.
What This Leak Suggests
If this is indeed the Osmo 360 II, it appears to be a measured update rather than a complete redesign. Expect:
- 8k 60p recording capability
- Improved battery life
- Possible minor design and ergonomic refinements
- Updated firmware features
- Continued focus on strong 8K performance
A major generational leap is unlikely so soon after the original model’s launch.
