Canon is finally ready to announce Fullfarame mirrorless and APS-C sensor based mirrorless camera ? take look below to find out more details…
According to the tipster of CanonRumor Two Mirrorless camera are coming, one wll have APS-C and the other will have Fullframe. We are starting with Canon APS-C Mirrorless camera and later we will discuss Fullframe Mirrorless along with a short analysis of overall rumor.
Canon APS-C Mirrorless Rumor
Canon EOS M4 – APS-C Mirrorless Camera with 80D Sensor: One of the camera will be a follow up of current Canon EOS M3 camera, the name is not confirmed yet but the camera may be called Canon EOS M4 or M10.
The camera will have a major upgrade over the current Canon EOS M3 camera, upcoming Canon EOS M4 will use Canon 80D Dualpixel CMOS AF Sensor and advance core specification compared to the current EOS M3 camera.
Canon Fullframe Mirrorless Rumor
Canon Fullframe Mirrorless Camera With Dual-Pixel Technology: Canon Fullframe Mirroless camera is also rumored to announce along with the Canon EOS M3 Successor. The Canon fullframe mirrorless camera will be Canon’s first “Prosumer” focused mirrorless camera.
According to the tipsters of Rumor mill the upcoming Canon Fullframe mirroless camera will feature 24 MP Fullframe sensor and will use EF Lenses.
A Short Analysis of the Rumor Rumor look bit logical to me since Canon itself confirmed several times that they are working on a fullframe mirrorless camera. But, the Most annoying part of the rumor is “tipster suggest that upcoming FF mirrorless camera will use Canon EF lenses”.
I think Tipster forget to think that the flange distance of DSLRs are more than Mirrorless. Since DSLR lenses are heavy / bulky and optimized for DSLR body that carry a Moving mirror in-between the Sensor and the Lens.

The overall flange distance (distance between lens and sensor) of a DSLR is more compared to a mirrorless camera . Due to the difference in flange distance of DSLR and mirrorless camera, the DSLR lenses can’t be used directly with the mirrorless camera without proper lens adapters and if Canon announces such a mirrorless camera then it will sure become a running joke among photographers.
Canon already have Fullframe Mirorless patents that we have published a while ago, you can look it here.
Take this rumor with a grain of salt.

According to information coming from unofficial sources Panasonic representatives denied the possibilities if entering into the fullframe mirrorless market. Just few day’s ago we have reported that Olympus is preparing to enter in fullframe mirrorless market gain more market share.
The Main parts of the interview are
Q: Any possibility for multi-aspect again?
A: We didn’t gave the multi-aspect up yet. That said, we’re considering it with the market flows.
Q: Did GM line go away?
A: In Europe we’re successful with GH, G and GX, while we’re most profitable with GF in Asia. GM sales didn’t came up to our expectations, so we’re adjusting the timing for release.
Q: Is it possible to improve AF performance on 4K/30p technologically?
A: It’s possible.
Q: Then is it possible as well on GX8, G7 via firmware upgrade?
A: We’re considering. As processor-image processing engine- allows we’ll find the way out.
Q: What’s going on the organic sensors?
A: We’re on the way of development. That’s all I know for now, and I hope the sensor to come in M4/3 as well.
Q: UHD goes to 8K in the end. Can we have the 8K on M4/3 sensors?
A: Personally I expect the M4/3 sensor allows 24MP at maximum. I doubt if M4/3 sensor could offer more than that MPs considering pixel density matter.
Q: Then we should have an organic sensor as a prior condition for 8K, right?
A: (Smiling)I think so. Yet I have nothing to say about organic sensors.
Q: How about GH5?
A: My apologies, but I’m not allowed to tell anything of it. We’re on the development.
Q: Would FF ever comes from Panasonic?
A: We’re not considering FF. The beauty of M4/3 is its compactness and we’re maximizing its value in that regard.
Q: Any comments for tiny grainy noises?
A: It’s all about sensor density, so I can’t say if it would get improvements soon. We’re taking it into our account as well.
The above is what OP presented. I found some additional informations on comments section. It looks like from another participant of the (same) meeting.
Q: Does panasonic have any plan for retro-designed cameras like X100 or PEN-F?
A: We don’t.
Q: Would every forthcoming cameras have 4K? If they would, then do they have same 4K features?
A: I expect they’ll do have 4K all, yet I’m not sure if their features and performance would be same.
Q: Could existing models like GF7 acquire 4K via firmware update?
A: I doubt it Processor-wise.

We were the first website to told you that Hasselblad is planning to announce several new products this year, just few days after the rumor Hasselblad announced H6D 50c and H6D 100c camera by having 50 MP and 100MP CMOS sensor respectively.
The announcement is not completed yet, the camera company is in the mood to announce more new products this year. However, the sales of Hasselblad Lunar completely stopped now and the Hassy may announce replacement for the same. So we may see a complete breakthrough by Hasselblad this year instead of re-branding Sony cameras, they may be a square sensor based MF camera or Hasselblad Digital X-Pan.
Take a look what financial times said few days ago:
“I saw the new cameras. I will be reporting on them this year in my How To Spend It column. Without breaking the news embargo, I can say confidently that, in the case of one wholly new model in particular, photography fans will be over the moon.” (source: Jonathan Margolis/FT)
Take a look what Hasselblad CEO said few days ago:
“Portability will be key – but how and which ways it will be portable is yet to be announced – it’s better to scream about something when you have something to say, and our ambition towards that direction is there. The good thing is that more people will come to medium format, and people are much more interested in quality.” (source)
We don’t know this time what Hassalblad planned, but after failure of Hasselblad Lunar they won’t repeat the same mistake again. Stay with us and we will update you soon as we get any new information.
