Leaked Images of Canon 28mm Mirrorless Macro Lens

Canon Mirrorless Lens 28mm

We have already published the specification of the canon EF-M 28m Macro lens a while ago and we are glad to inform you that we now have the images of Canon Upcoming 28mm Mirrorless macro lens.  The lens features excellent LED ring light on the corner for macro lighting. You can also see the LED toggle button at the end of the lens.

We highly appreciate the  concept of adding Ring LED on the front-end of the lens and I also hope that upcoming DSLR Macro lenses will carry same ring LED flash for subject lightning.

Canon Not Interested in Medium-Format Camera

Canon no medium format camera

If we believe on latest reports coming from NorthLight website Canon is not currently working on Medium format sensor based camera. Earlier on there was bunch of rumors that Canon is working on MF system camera and it may arrive on Photokina 2014 but they all turned out to be fake.

Canon is paying attention towards the medium format market but they have no plan to develop such camera. Reports says Canon do have 250 MP Medium format sensor in the lab, but they are for test purpose only.

I personally think that Canon should take a step ahead of others and they should announce a Medium format solution for professional users. The slow development process of camera giants and lack of innovation putting down the overall profit of the company.

100X Optical Zoom Lens Patent from Nikon

Nikon 100X Patent camera image

Till now have have published three 100X compact zoom lens patent from Canon (patent 1, patent 2 and patent 3) but today patent hunting Japan website egami published published a  100X compact zoom lens patent from Nikon developed for a 1/2.3″ sensor.

Nikon 100X Zoom Camera

Take a look at the patent details below

  • Patent Publication No. 2016-65912
    • Published 2016.4.28
    • Filing date 2014.9.24
  • Example
    • Zoom ratio 97.00
    • f 4.430 43.630 429.712
    • Fno 2.70160 5.08497 8.28574

    • TL (air length equivalent) 131.0263 173.8283 217.7117

In general a patent takes upto 2 to 3 years to become a real product, the patent submitted on 2014 September and we hope the time is near when we see another megazoom camera from Nikon.

When we will see the next Megazoom camera from Nikon ?

Nikon upgrade its mega-zoom camera every year. Last year we have seen Nikon P900 camera with 83X optical zoom and this year we may see a new Megazoom camera from Nikon that may cross 100X optical Zoom ?

Absence of true Competitor ? – Surprisingly Nikon P900 with 83X optical zoom doesn’t have any real competitor in the market, Canon SX60 HS limited to 65X optical zoom and Sony HX400V limited to 50X optical zoom.

If Canon and Sony remains silent and doesn’t bring a perfect competitor for Nikon P900, in that scenario Nikon will announce a megazoom camera with slight upgrade in the core specification of the camera compared to Nikon P900, it may be called Nikon P910 and not Nikon P1000.

Nikon D500 and Battery Problem

New Camera D500 image

According to some latest reports coming from Nikon D500 users the camera is showing issues with the third party battery as well as with Nikon original battery (drainge problem)

Multiple reports coming different forum but the major source is dpreviewforum in which many of Nikon D500 camera owners reporting that camera showing some batteries issue with the third party batteries, may be Nikon done some technical tweak or changes to avoid the use of such batteries, however we haven’t received any sort of official confirmation rebated to third parties battery of battery drainage issue (motioned below)

Users complaining about third party issue

“My Nikon D500 will not recognize 3rd party batteries (e.g. Hahnel) which my D810 accepts quite happily.”

“It seems the new D500 cannot use 3rd party batteries. Tested my new D500 with 3rd party/oem battery and the camera flashes the battery bar a few times then shuts off. Battery was full and verified working with other cameras. This behavior was tested on two different D500 cameras. Original batteries worked fine.”

Users complaining about battery drainage issue

With a fully charged Nikon EN-EL15 battery in my D500 after 5 shots it showed having a 64% charge level remaining. The problem may be in the reading of the charge level being inaccurate or there may be something internal to the camera that is draining the battery. With a similar problem with the D300 a firmware update fixed it.

I have had my D500 for two days, and have not shot a lot of images, yet, because I have been studying the menus and manual, and learning the differences and enhancements over my D300, but even so, I have been surprised at how quickly the battery meter showed less than 50% remaining.

I must assure you again that the problem is limited to few cameras and not all Nikon D500 is affected by the issue. Several photographers are also saying that everything s working fine after the purchase of the camera and they haven’t noticed any issue.

Will update you soon as we get any new information do follow Nikon D500 page for further updates || If you already own a Nikon D500 camera than you must see some of our Lens recommendation for the camera.
