Today we got the news that Roger Cala of lensrentals finally teardown the lens and said that it build quality is un-matchable, take a look at his words

…This lens is massively over-engineered compared to any other prime we’ve ever disassembled. It’s built like a tank where it counts; on the inside. Moving parts are huge and robust. Six big screws are used in locations where 3 smalls screws are common in other lenses. Heavy roller bearings move the focusing group, it doesn’t slide on little nylon collars.

…If I had to summarize the mechanical design of this lens, I would say simply that no expense was spared, no corner was cut.

We highly recommend you to get a version of this lens if you are a semi-pro / PRO shooter.

Zeiss Otus 28mm F1.4 Lens Coming Soon

We have published earlier that Canon will announce a new version of existing 35mm F1.4L lens, there was expectation that Canon will announce EF35mm F1.4L II USM on 14^th August, 2015 at the cost of $1,899. But due to some unknown reason it was not announced till date.

Now Digicame-info came with the first image and specs of the upcoming Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II Lens which is the confirmation of its announcement within few days.

LensBaby Announces 56mm F1.6 Manual Focus Lens

The Lens baby today announced a multipurpose portrait lens with F1.6 aperture and 56mm focal length, it can be used for capturing super soft portraits or even macro images. The lens features 1:2 magnification and a 5-inch minimum focusing distance for super cool macro photography.

Canon Lens Rumor Update April 2015

A roundup of lens rumors in a single post, Canon 50mm F1.8 STM Lens is expected to arrive in April 2015, the exact announcement date is still not know yet.

The next L series prime lens coming from Canon is the EF 35mm f/1.4L, however no announcement date know yet.

Canon EF50mm F1.2L lens is also coming with floating lens elements, bigger front glasses and smaller in size when compared to the current version of the 50mm F1.2L lens. The 50mm F1.2L II is rumored to arrive in 2016.
