Ok last year Canon said they will cannabilze DSLRs to promote Mirrorless camera, and they did also. They haven’t updated the long overdue 7D Mk II camera (no longer in production / discontinued) and no DSLRs announced in 2018. Now, latest rumor coming from rumor mill suggest that Canon killed one of its DSLR development in favor of Mirrorless camera. May be 5DS line dumped up and we will see a high-resolution mirrorless solution for that.
They Never let users know…
The best thing camera maker usually do is to delay the product announcement. Sony never officially told that they have stopped the development of APS-C Alpha mount cameras. In the same way Nikon never told officially they are quitting the development of Nikon 1 Series Mirrorless camera. And we have Samsung never officially told us that they are shutting down the NX series camera manufacturing unit due to less profit.
3 More DSLRs on its Way, no FF DSLR in 2019 ?
Based on the latest rumors coming from rumor mill Canon planning to announce three APS-C DSLRs camera next year. But no Fullframe Camera is coming,. Let’s talk about list of possible DSLRs camera we may see in the year of 2019
- Canon 7D Mark III – As we all know that Canon 7D mark II camera is discontinued and 7D Mk III is the most eligible camera to arrive in the year of 2019. Let’s talk about the possible core specification of the camera. The camera may have 24 or 30 MP sensor. Digic8 image processor that we have already seen in the Canon EOS M50 camera. New CRAW file format and advance image decoding algorithms. The camera is said to have silent shooting mode and continuous shooting upto 14FPS in AF-C mode.
- Canon 90D is also rumored to arrive in 2019. But based on the latest set of information we are getting Canon is planning to introduce Canon 7D Mark III camera before Canon 90D. The camera will 4K 30p and lot of other enhancement including new RAW file formats and C-log support
- Canon 850D / T8i is also rumored to arrive in the Q1 / Q2 of 2019. The latest rumors we have received suggest that the camera will have a 24 megzpixel CMOS sensor DPAF tech same as of Canon 80D DSLR camera. Initial information also suggest that the Canon 850D / T8i camera is the first Canon Rebel camera to have 4K video recording option.

According to the latest information coming through the rumor mills, Sony A7 SIII camera will have newly developed stacked CMOS sensor which is of course different then the Sony A9 camera, that’s clearly indicate Sony A7SIII will carry advance sensor tech compared to Sony A9 camera. However, no further details available about the type of tech Sensor Sony may used inside the upcoming Sony A7 SIII camera.

- Better colour depth dynamic range and low light performance compared to the previous generation of Sony A7S cameras.
It’s a long gap since Sony A7III feb announcement. And after Canikon announcement, we also have Panasonic S1 and S1R announcement in the beginning of 2019 and they both carry some serious video core specs. and all these fullframe mirrorless system will sure give a very serious competition Sony A7 and Sony A9 line-up. I do believe that in the beginning 2019 we will have the Sony A7S III camera announcement.

Canon SL2 / 200D is a highly popular camera among Youtubers as well as still shooters also prefer it. But now people are concerned about the replacement of Canon 200D / SL2 camera. And we are getting questions from our users that when Canon SL3 is coming or may be Canon 200D Mark II.

So, one thing is sure, Canon will not going to use Canon 300D name for Canon 200D Successor.

2. Canon EOS R camera was a Rhythm Breaker
The DS 126xxx model code was reserved for Canon FF and APS-C DSLRs cameras and PC 23xx code was reserved for Canon AP-C Mirrorless camera, but the recent Canon EOS R mirrorless camera arrived under model code DS 126721.
So, we can say that Canon EOS R was the first Canon FF Canon Mirrorless camera to use Model code assigned for Canon FF and APS-C DSLRs. Now, after the EOS R camera announcement even highly trusted Japanese sources are confused about Canon next camera coming under the model code DSC 126751 and DSC 126761.

Recent patent we have seen Canon is working on super zoom lenses for its Fullframe Mirrorless and Fullframe DSLRs camera. One of the most the most important attractive then we have seen is the 25 to 300 mm lens which covers Almost 90% of starting from Wide Angle shots to telephoto.

As you can see the details of the two above lenses having shorter Back Focus distance. One lens is focal length of 25-300mm with aperture ange F6.5-F5.6 and other lens we have in the list is the 30mm to 350mm with aperture range F2.8-F4.5. Literally with bit extra wide coverage the 25-300mm Lens is commercially more usable than the 30-350mm lens.
Not only the above two lenses we also have two DSLRs lenses those who give extreme coverage, you can say these lenes are being inspired from Canon EOS Cinema (PL Mount) lenses.As usually PL Mount lenses give extreme coverage but they are costly too.

But as you can see the Focal length of both the lenses are exactly same at wider end starting from 35mm bit at tele end one is having 350mm coverage and other having 400mm coverage. The Lens made of Canon Fullframe DSLRs having 35-350mm focal length and aperture range F3.5-5.6 look bit more usable to me compared to 35-400mm lens with F4.5-5.6 aperture.
