According a recent interview published over dpreview what we came to know that Canon is still thinking about the possibilities of a professional mirrorless camera in the market.
Q: Dual Pixel AF is a technology which has huge potential for mirrorless cameras. A lot of our readers are still very hopeful for future Canon enthusiast mirrorless models. Is there anything that you would like to say to them?
A: Obviously I can’t be particularly concrete when talking about our future product planning, but this is something that we are looking at. Something that is under consideration. There are some features, such as AF, which have not yet caught up with DSLRs, so given the current state of affairs it would be a little unrealistic to say that we will suddenly start offering a professional mirrorless camera. There’s still a performance gap that needs to be addressed.
Q: If we assume that at some point in the future Canon will create an enthusiast or professional mirrorless camera, what are your benchmarks?
A: This is just my personal opinion. In my view there are two key features that have to be addressed. The first is autofocus, particularly tracking of moving subjects. The other is the viewfinder. The electronic viewfinder would have to offer a certain standard. If those two functions were to match the performance of EOS DSLR camera performance, we might make the switch.
Nothing is clear from interview, however we do have published some patent related Canon fullframe and APS-C sensor based mirrorless camera.

This is not rumor, according to Fuji officials the Fuji X-Pro 2 camera is capable to record 4K video and the upcoming X-T2 camera will have the 4K video recording feature. However at the same interview they also conformed that they have no plan to add 4K video in Fuji X-Pro 2 via firmware update.
Take a look at the some glimpse of interview taken by focus-numerique at CP+ show
We asked users of the X-Pro 1 if they used it for video and 80% of them said no. By cons, of course, you can make high quality videos FHD with the X-Pro 2. But according to our studies users do not expect 4K feature on the X-Pro 2. Technically, we could add this feature with a firmware update but we do not plan to do so in the future.
We will integrate the 4K video in the next models of the T series
Monochrome X-Pro
At the beginning we wanted to develop a device of this type, but in the end we opted for the simulation mode (silver black and white films) obtained from color files. For us to judge image quality for a draw. Our tests have shown that visually, the image quality between a photo after an X-Trans sensor color then treated black and white film simulation and a photo of a monochrome sensor was identical. In addition, we asked our ambassadors photographers who responded that he had an urgent need for color images and they were not to use multiple field devices.
Plans for X30 Successor?
Currently not. This segment is very competitive with the presence of Sony, Canon and Nikon now (new range of compact Nikon experts DL). At present, we do not 1 inch version of our X-Trans technology. It takes time to develop.
