It’s look like Someone spotted Sony A9 camera in the wild, according to a reader of the SAR website the upcoming Sony A9 camera may carry a 72MP fullframe sensor, dual card slots, a joy stick on the rear side of the camera and a slightly larger body compared to current A7R II.

Walking through battery park Manhattan around 5:35pm, I came across someone walking towards 1 world trade, with a graphite looking camera with no markings or paint in a slightly larger and boxier shape than my a7r ii, when I realized it was too large to be a Fuji XT1 but too small to be a Leica T, I looked closer and noticed the user (short chubby guy with red goatee) was using a Sony GM 24-70mm 2.8 lens on the body.
The photographer was pretty uncomfortable when I started asking questions. But I can say this. It was in fact a Sony A9(?!?) proto type, it is slightly larger than the A7Rii however it does not have a built in battery grip. Good things are it does have dual card slots, definitely sd maybe cfast, I really don’t know much about different cards, but he did say it has 2. It has a joystick for autofocus point moving. But most importantly, when he showed me the joystick, the spot where it would say 42M on my a7rii, it said Extra Fine 72M!!
He said this was one of a few prototypes out there and that it was due out end of summer for early fall release (can’t say this is real or not).
I know I am not a source or anything, but this thing was legit!!!
More thing are coming out of fog as multiple confirmations are coming from different sources. Today we got confirmation that one of the prototypes of the camera features a 72MP FF Sensor inside.

From specification POV the Sony A9 look like a perfect camera for professional. The Sony A9 is said to be a new series of camera and above the current A7 series. That clearly means upcoming A9 camera isn’t a successor of Sony A7R II camera.

Canon Mirrorless Lens – 28mm 1:3.5 IS STM Lens is coming on June 2016, the images of the lens already leaked few days ago. The most important and noticeable feature is the introduction of ring LED light within the Macro lens. The lens also features built-in Hybrid image stabilization. Surprisingly the lens carries a super macro mode that enahnces the over capability of the lens, you can capture images 0.7X to 1.2 X larger by using this mode. Launch is scheduled for late June 2016. If we believe on latest reports coming from NorthLight website Canon is not currently working on Medium format sensor based camera. Earlier on there was bunch of rumors that Canon is working on MF system camera and it may arrive on Photokina 2014 but they all turned out to be fake.
Canon is paying attention towards the medium format market but they have no plan to develop such camera. Reports says Canon do have 250 MP Medium format sensor in the lab, but they are for test purpose only.
I personally think that Canon should take a step ahead of others and they should announce a Medium format solution for professional users. The slow development process of camera giants and lack of innovation putting down the overall profit of the company.

In general a patent takes upto 2 to 3 years to become a real product, the patent submitted on 2014 September and we hope the time is near when we see another megazoom camera from Nikon.
When we will see the next Megazoom camera from Nikon ?
Nikon upgrade its mega-zoom camera every year. Last year we have seen Nikon P900 camera with 83X optical zoom and this year we may see a new Megazoom camera from Nikon that may cross 100X optical Zoom ?
Absence of true Competitor ? – Surprisingly Nikon P900 with 83X optical zoom doesn’t have any real competitor in the market, Canon SX60 HS limited to 65X optical zoom and Sony HX400V limited to 50X optical zoom.
If Canon and Sony remains silent and doesn’t bring a perfect competitor for Nikon P900, in that scenario Nikon will announce a megazoom camera with slight upgrade in the core specification of the camera compared to Nikon P900, it may be called Nikon P910 and not Nikon P1000.
