Few days ago we have seen the leaked images of a canon to be announced DSLR, Now according to a latest rumor published at canonwatch website [link here], Canon will going to announce a new DSLR camera between Canon 750D and Canon 80D, the information about the name or specification is not available but the website says it will have 2-digit name ..XXD.
TNC Take,
I don’t think the rumor is correct, Since we already have a bunch of APS-C DSLRs from Canon, Canon 1200D (entry level), Canon SL1 / 100D (semi-entry level and ultra compact), Canon 700D / T5i (mid-range), Canon 70D (semi-pro) and Canon 7D Mark II (Professional level) DSLRs.
The leaked images that we have seen is possibly Canon next rebel (750D / T6i) with top LCD Display or may be Canon 80D, however I personally think there is no need to start a new line of APS-C DSLR DSLR for now.

The image is posted by Canon Austria’s Facebook page yesterday and is now trending over the web, the DSLR appeared in the image is completely new, since the design doesn’t seem to match the rear-side of any current Canon EOS DSLR, first take a look at the zoomed and cropped version of the DSLR below..
Carefully look at the sliding Lock switch, click wheel and the shape of the buttons …. and compare the image with the images of the current Canon 70D, 700D / T5i and 7D Mark II back images below…it doesn’t matches with any of them.
We hope that its a upcoming Canon 80D DSLR, since the lock switch below menu dial and vari-angle display resembles with Canon 70D DSLR. But if we look at the due date Canon 750D is also expected to arrive anytime soon.

Nikon D5500 vs Nikon D7100, Nikon D5500 is a mid entry level DSLR on the other hand Nikon D7100 is a high end APS-C camera, however its almost a year that Nikon D7100 was announced…
Sensor
The Nikon D5500 and Nikon D5500 features same sensor as of Nikon D7100, so you will get approx same image quality compared to Nikon D7100.
Image Processor
The Nikon D5500 Camera features advance image processor, the Expeed 4, but the new image processor doesn’t literally help the D5500 camera since the ISO speed, the continuous shooting speed and the video specifications remains almost same (although the Nikon D7100 have bit fast continuous shooting speed despite of having older generation of image processor.)
So it’s look like the Nikon has limited the functionality of the Expeed 4 image processor inside the Nikon D5500 camera.
Advance Autofocus System inside Nikon D7100
The Nikon D5500 features 39 distinct AF points, including nine cross-type sensors on the other hand the Nikon D7100 features professional-level DSLRs and comes with 51-point focus area with 15 cross-type sensors for detecting both vertical and horizontal variations.
If you are a sports shooter you must get Nikon D7100.
Introduction of the touch screen in D5500
The First Nikon DSLR with a Touch Display unit: Nikon D5500 comes with a large 3.2″ 1,037k-dot vari-angle touchscreen LCD monitor, which features a 180° swivel design, touchscreen functions allow you to pinch to zoom, navigate menus, choose settings, and choose your focus point.
Wireless Connectivity inside Nikon D5500: The Nikon D5500 features built-in WiFi connectivity, that helps you to transfer your images without any physical pain.
Other advantages of Nikon D7100: The Nikon D7100 includes bright viewfinder, weather sealed design and more battery life.
Verdict: Based on core specification we do recommend you to buy Nikon D7100 camera since it features advance core specification compared to Nikon D5500 DSLR and there is very less difference in the price tag of both the camera.

Nikon D5500 specification comparison, The Nikon D5500 is a successor of Nikon D5300 DSLR, take a look at the list of improvements done by Nikon during the past 1 year.
Sensor and Image Processor:
The Sensor and Image Processor remains same as of the predecessor Nikon D5300 DSLR, Hence you will get the same image quality from both the camera.
ISO
The ISO range of both the camera is almost same, hence we don’t expect any improvement in the image quality of Nikon D5500 DSLR when compared to Nikon D5300 DSLR.
Video:
Due the same sensor and image processor the Video quality also remains same, both camera can record Full HD videos at 60fps.
Touch LCD:
The Nikon D5500 is first Nikon camera to feature touch LCD display unit, hence new generation smartphone users get more comfortable with the camera.
Built-in WiFi
The camera features built-in WiFi connectivity, it enables advanced image sharing capabilities, No Built-in WiFi connectivity available in Nikon D5300.
The Nikon D5500 Wireless Mobile Utility app has been installed on an Android or iOS mobile device, you can use that device to browse the contents of the memory card, select images, and seamlessly transfer files between devices for immediate sharing online.
Dropped GPS?
I don’t know the real reason behind that but Nikon dropped GPS inside Nikon D5500.
Verdict:
For new users we highly recommend to buy Nikon D5500 camera.
Nikon D5300 users must wait for a better model since even after investing $896 you will get same image quality.
