According to latest rumors coming out from rumor mills, Sony Registered two New fullframe sensor with 60MP and 36MP Fullframe Resolution sensor. Take a look at the details of the sensor registered by Sony, Keep in mind Sony never list their Exclusive sensors commercially, for example Sony A9 and Sony A7R III isn’t available commercially yet. So if they use these sensors for their upcoming cameras then don’t except these Sensors will be listed commercially.
Sony A9R / Sony A7R IV Upcoming Sensor Specs
Sensor 1:
60MP
16 channels (which is crazy, normally it should be 8),
4.6FPS@16bit
12FPS@14bit
8k30P@12bit
8K60p@10bit
4k60p@12bit
FHD300P@10bit
Based on the Sensor specs, the camera is able to record High-Resolution videos upto 8K. And it will become a perfect competitor for Panasonic Upcoming Dedicated Video camera for L-Mount.
It’s better to say the sensor will be used for Sony A9 series camera aka A9R and the camera will arrive at a higher price tag than of the existing Sony A7R series camera.
Sony A7IV Possible Sensor Specification
Sensor 2:
36MP
10FPS@16bit
60FPS@10bit
on-chip PDAF
The 36 MP sensor may get used in Sony next A7 Series fullframe camera, possibly in Sony A7 IV, however we have to wait for further confirmations.
Sony is very aggressive with its fullframe mirrorless line-up, after Canikon announcement Sony market share rapidly dropped from 100% to 67%. Sony will sure announce more new Mirrorless camera in the year 2019 to regain its market share and prevent further loss.

Recent patent we have seen Canon is working on super zoom lenses for its Fullframe Mirrorless and Fullframe DSLRs camera. One of the most the most important attractive then we have seen is the 25 to 300 mm lens which covers Almost 90% of starting from Wide Angle shots to telephoto.
Canon Fullframe Mirrorless Lens Patent
1.Focal distance: 29.22 – 350.06 F 2.8 – 4.5
- – 4.50 – Half angle of view: 32.15
- – 3.5 – Image height: 18.36
- – 21.61 – Total length: 406.68
- – 406.68 – Back focus: 22.42 – 22.42
2.RF 25-300 mm F 3.5-5.6
- – Focal distance: 25.20-294.41
- – F value: 3.50
- – 5.60 – Half angle of view: 36.72
- – 4.20 – Image height: 18.80
- – 21.61 – Total length: 374.08
- – 374.08 – Back focus: 21.75 – 21.75
As you can see the details of the two above lenses having shorter Back Focus distance. One lens is focal length of 25-300mm with aperture ange F6.5-F5.6 and other lens we have in the list is the 30mm to 350mm with aperture range F2.8-F4.5. Literally with bit extra wide coverage the 25-300mm Lens is commercially more usable than the 30-350mm lens.
Not only the above two lenses we also have two DSLRs lenses those who give extreme coverage, you can say these lenes are being inspired from Canon EOS Cinema (PL Mount) lenses. As usually PL Mount lenses give extreme coverage but they are costly too.
Canon Fullframe DSLRs Lens Patent
1. Canon EF 35-350 mm F 3.5-5.6
- – Focal length: 35.04-350.37
- – F value: 3.50
- – 5.60 – Half angle of view: 30.36
- – 3.5 – Image height: 20.53
- – 21.61 – Total length: 321.17
- – 321.17 – Back focus: 40.10 – 40.10
2. Canon EF 35-400mm F 4.5-5.6
- – Focal distance: 35.13 – 386.45 – F value: 4.50
- – 5.60 – Half angle of view: 30.30
- – 3.20 – Image height: 20.53
- – 21.61 – Total length: 362.82
- – 362.82 – Back focus: 54.68 – 54.68
But as you can see the Focal length of both the lenses are exactly same at wider end starting from 35mm bit at tele end one is having 350mm coverage and other having 400mm coverage. The Lens made of Canon Fullframe DSLRs having 35-350mm focal length and aperture range F3.5-5.6 look bit more usable to me compared to 35-400mm lens with F4.5-5.6 aperture.
By looking at these patent data one thing is sure that Canon really planned something great for thir mirroless fullframe camera as well as Fullframe DSLRs. Which lens is your fav lens among the list of four lenses do share with us.

After a little research we have found that Canon is also working to implement image stabilization in its DSLRs. Earlier Canon had a policy against IBIS on DSLR but from a recent patent it’s look like their policy now changed. And now they are working to implement image stabilization system to DSLRs
For more details you can read these translated text coming straight out from Japanese patent.
Translated text from patent
An exchangeable lens device that is attachable to and detachable from an image capturing apparatus includes two types of lens devices, i.e., a lens device including an image stabilizing mechanism that corrects camera shake generated due to a user’s hand shake and a lens device not including the image stabilizing mechanism. The image stabilizing mechanism corrects the camera shake by moving an optical system. The lens device including the image stabilizing mechanism can correct camera shift-shake in a direction orthogonal to an optical axis (hereinafter, simply referred to as camera shift-shake), but cannot correct camera roll-shake in a direction of rotation about an axis in parallel with the optical axis (hereinafter, simply referred to as camera roll-shake).
To correct the camera roll-shake, an image sensor of the image capturing apparatus needs to be rotated. In this context, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2011-095467 discusses an image shake correction device having a rotational substrate, fixedly holding the image sensor, supported by a fixing portion via a rotation shaft. The image shake correction device discussed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2011-095467 requires a supporting mechanism for the rotation shaft for rotating the image sensor. The image shake correction device discussed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2011-095467 only focuses on correcting the camera roll-shake, and thus if the attached lens device does not include a shift-shake correcting mechanism, the camera shift-shake cannot be corrected with such a configuration
