According to recent (almost confirmed) rumor Leica S2 successor, Leica S3 coming on this year’s Photokina expo in Germany (September 2014) with a newly developed 40-50MP CMOS sensor and will also capture 4K video.
The most important thing is the recently announced Hasselblad H5D-50c, Phase IQ250 and Upcoming Pentax 645D II camera uses Sony made Medium format Sensor with 50 Megapixel resolution, so there is a strong possibility that Leica will also use Sony sensor in its upcoming S3 Medium Format Camera.
