Panasonic’s Major firmware update is coming to the LUMIX S1RII, S1II, and S1IIE cameras. The Major update will become available for download on June 24, 2025. Panasonic Japan’s social media handles initially posted a teaser for the upcoming major update.
Key Features of the Firmware Update
This is not the first time. One month ago, in May 2025, Lumix teased the updates, so let’s have a look at the set of updates coming for the LUMIX S1R II camera, while specific details for the S1II and S1IIE remain partially undisclosed.

- The color of the AF frame can be selected from 10 colors for better usability.
LUMIX S1II and LUMIX S1IIE Firmware Version 1.1 Updates
- ARRI LogC3 will be available with the DMW-SFU3A Software Upgrade Key (sold separately) and allows color matching to ARRI 1 digital cinema cameras .

This update shows the commitment of Lumix to its consumers. Just like Nikon, they are also providing major updates for free for professional camera users. Other camera makers, specifically Canon and Nikon, should learn from this—that companies are putting in so much effort to keep already announced cameras updated without putting any pressure on the pockets of photographers or cinematographers.
The firmware updates will be available for free download

I am getting very excited whenever Sony, Nikon, or Canon does a new camera registration. Still, unfortunately, we wait lot of time to get clear information even from tested rumour mills over there so that’s why I have stepped in to clear up the things. The recently registered model code on June 19, 2025, reported by the DC Life Camera Japan website, and the model code is WW295750, registered with the Indonesian certification agency, and the camera was originally manufactured in Thailand. Now that particular registration has awakened potential new Sony camera, but that’s not the truth.

WW295750 is an FX2 Variant, not a new Camera
According to a trusted source who does a very good account in keeping information related to registered camera models of multiple brands, yes I am talking about the E88_8888, the modern day Nokoshita has claimed the WW295750 registered product is not a new product but a single band wireless version of the Sony FX2 cinema mirrorless camera. The full form cinema release camera has already been associated with the model code WW934774, which was confirmed back on May 2025, so this is just a modified wireless version of the same camera, possibly optimised for a specific market or use cases. But the registered camera retains all the core specifications of the existing Sony FX2 camera, which is 33MP full-frame sensor, 4K 60 bit recording with RAW and all that stuff.
Updated Sony Camera Model Codes Table – June 2025
Below is an updated table of Sony’s registered and confirmed camera model codes as of June 2025, including the newly clarified WW295750 as a variant of the ILME-FX2.

Following the latest rends from Samyang, SIRUI, and Meike, this is a full-frame 85mm F1.4 AF lens from a non-Japanese manufacturer, VILTROX. The selling price is kept at the same level as other Chinese manufacturers, but the good thing is that the optical design is as complex as Sigma. As an option other than Sigma, it is a safe and solid product. However, it is a bit large and heavy. Also, because the minimum focusing distance is slightly shorter compared to Sigma, you may find it easier to get closer than with competing products.
VILTROX 85mm F1.4 Highlights
- Viltrox launches AF 85mm F1.4 Pro FE
- Optically sophisticated full-frame portrait specialist lens
- A sturdy, durable workhorse that delivers artistic results
- Beautiful, soft, dreamy bokeh to enhance subjects
- Easy-to-use, but professional-level
- Smooth, quiet autofocus
- Astonishing pro-grade images

Viltrox’s AF 85mm F1.4 Pro FE Official Press Release
The portrait master: astonishing imaging and control, high-precision optics, all-weather reliability
Shenzhen, China, June 16th, 2025 – Viltrox is pleased to announce the AF 85mm F1.4 Pro FE, a new full-frame autofocus lens for Sony E-mount cameras. This is Viltrox’s first full frame lens in the company’s acclaimed Pro Series. It is precision-tailored to meet the exacting demands of advanced enthusiasts and working professionals who will only accept reliable, high-performance optics for portraiture and general photography.
An 85mm focal length has long been preferred by portrait photographers for its natural perspective and ability to isolate subjects while still providing a degree of versatility – from close-ups to full body shots. The Viltrox AF 85mm F1.4 Pro FE adds to this by combining a wide F1.4 aperture with advanced optical design that maintains sharpness and clarity across the frame – even at its widest aperture.
The result is close to perfection in its class: a lens that offers both creative flexibility, with stunning bokeh effects, and dependable performance in a wide range of environments.
The Definitive 85mm Portrait Lens
As the definitive focal length for portrait artistry, the AF 85mm F1.4 Pro masterfully adapts to every owner’s creative vision – whether capturing intimate half-frame portraits, dynamic full-body compositions, or fleeting emotional nuances. Elevating Viltrox’s Pro series with its first full-frame lens, it features an advanced optical design including 15 elements and 11 groups, delivering exceptional sharpness and excellent control of coma aberration.
The Viltrox AF 85mm F1.4 Pro FE leverages an ultra-large, precision aspherical lens. This achieves peak aberration control and onion ring control even at 1.4 aperture, delivering consistent sharpness from center to edge. The lens also includes three low-dispersion ED elements to minimize chromatic aberration, and nine high-refractive index elements that maintain clarity. Viltrox’s advanced nano-coating minimizes ghosting and flare, even in challenging lighting such as backlit scenes.
At F1.4 the lens produces the ideal shallow depth of field for portraiture: sharp and clear where focus is needed; soft, dreamy bokeh in out-focus areas; and smooth transitions between focal zones. This allows subjects to be cleanly separated from backgrounds without introducing distracting artifacts, while still delivering beautiful bokeh. The wide aperture also benefits low-light shooting, offering higher shutter speeds and lower ISO settings for clean, noise-free images in dimly lit conditions.
HyperVCM: Viltrox’s patented fast, quiet and smooth autofocus motor
Viltrox’s patented HyperVCM autofocus motor delivers exceptionally fast, quiet, and smooth focusing. In the AF 85mm F1.4 Pro FE, the dual HyperVCM motor outperforms traditional STM motors, offering significantly faster focus speed, lower focus noise, and superior precision. This translates to a 150% boost in focusing speed, enabling near-to-far focus shifts in just 100ms. With micrometer-level positioning accuracy, the lens achieves reliable focus even under extremely shallow depth of field conditions. Combined with real-time eye and face detection (compatible with a wide range of cameras), it maintains accurate focus on moving subjects. Crucially, the motor’s quiet operation and smooth, precise focus transitions ensure highly reliable video performance. When manual control is preferred, users can instantly switch via the dedicated AF/MF switch.
Easy to use, but flexible and tough
This lens is built for durability, without compromising handling. The full-metal body is robust at about 800 grams – but still provides balance and maneuverability to capture shots. Finally, the mystery is revealed—the camera is the Silver edition of the Nikon Zf camera. The exact announcement date of the camera is not known yet. Still, the camera will arrive before the Nikon ZR camera, which is rumored to be a video-centric cinema mirrorless camera, using the Nikon Z6 Mark III camera sensor and lots of RED technology inside it.
I’ve heard many people are waiting for the silver Zf model, so the arrival of the silver/chrome model is likely to be very welcome. I’m looking forward to the high-quality silver/chrome body. Note that the image in the original article is an AI-generated image, not a leaked image.

In the latest camera sales rankings, published by MAP TIMES, for May 2025, the Fujifilm X100VI has scored the TOP position of the sales by overtaking the Nikon Z5II, which dropped to second place. This marks the first time since February 2025 that the X100VI has reclaimed the top spot, What I feel after X-E5 announcement, people thought better to invest in X-100VI camera instead of getting X-E5, Since in the same price ur getting better HYBRID OVF and a high quality 23mm Prime with instated of F2.8 available with the X-E5 as a kit, yes u use the ability to change the lenses by since Fuji added Digitel Teleconverte feature in the menu, so at 1.4X we are getting clear images of 20MP resolution and at 2X we are getting 10MP, so overall the X100 VI wins the game., If you guys want to see, I will put out a detailed comparison between the two cameras.

Recently, I have reviewed the Nikon Z5 II camera, thanks to Nikon INDIA for sending me. The camera is an amazing, the biggest problem I had with Nikon is the tonal quality of the skin tones which I use to get in Canon cameras from DSLR time, but since they have added the portrait persona mode, it opens up the entire skin tonal quality adjustment panel, which gives you next level of experience during the shoot. Later, after using the Nikon Z50 II, it also has the same portrait persona mode. Both of them are amazing.
By the way, I would love to try out the Canon R50V someday. It’s one of the best budget cinema cameras Canon has ever announced.
