Canon Australia Calling Back R5c Cameras Sold before 21 March 2022

We have recently published the overheating issue of the Sony A7 4 camera just after that we got the Canon R5C camera news.

On March 18 Canon Australia published a press release. In that press release, they have clearly written some of the models they have sold before March 21 2022 have some manufacturing defects in the autofocus. Due to that manufacturing defect, the camera may repeatedly go in and out of focus in movie mode.

So customers who have purchased the camera on or before March 21, 2022, are requested to return their camera to their authorized retailers and Canon will organize a replacement for them.

initially, it looks like the issue is limited to Canon Australia only.

Canon EOS R Mark II Rumors - The Saga Continuous ...

We have told you on December 6 2019, that Canon is working on IBIS patents for fullframe Mirrorless camera and we are sure that Canon next flagship Mirrorless camera canon EOS R Mark II will carry IBIS on board.

On Dec 8 2019, we have also told you that there is very less possibility about the announcement of Canon 5D Mark V camera next year, instead of that Canon will announce a brand new FF Mirrorless camera for professional shooters. Most probably the Canon EOS R Mark II, take a look at the rumored core specs we have published

Based on the latest set of information surfaced over the web, Canon do have working prototypes of Canon FF Mirrorless Camera with slightly bulkier body than of Canon EOS R, with built-in IBIS. Not only that, with more advance heif file format, 4K videos without crop @ 60fps 30fps and 24fps option. All these things are coming in Canon next FF Mirrorless announcement (of course, after 1DX III).

Now as you can see other rumor mills started posting the same information. We will update you more once we get more information

Canon EOS M50 Limited 4K isn't a Tech Issue

Canon EOS M50 limited 4K

During an interview with dpreview team Canon accepted that Canon EOS M50 (Amazon | B&H ) mirrorless camera Limited 4K mode ( you get no CMOS autofocus support while creating a 4K video with that camera). is not technical issue, the features are bit Limited because the EOS M50 is entry level mirrorless camera.

Take a look what Canon said on limited 4K mode of EOS M50

The EOS M50 offers 4K video and Dual Pixel CMOS AF, but not at the same time. Is there a technical reason for this limitation?

With the EOS 5D Mark IV, we do offer 4K video and Dual Pixel CMOS autofocus, so technically it is feasible. But given the position of the M50 in the lineup, we can’t include all of the features available in a product like the 5D IV. Given the position of the product, we wanted to achieve the optimal balance [of features] in a camera in that range. We’ve optimized the M50 as best we can [for its market position], and within those parameters, the combination of 4K video and Dual Pixel CMOS autofocus was not possible.

Ok, but my question is once you added DPAF sensor inside the camera then why you are limiting its performance ? Imagine if Canon EOS 50 have 4K with DPAF support it will sure kill the sales of Panasonic GX85 as well as other entry-level and Mid-range mirroless camera.

Dear Canon Photographers….We need your opinion on this.

Sigma - Compatibility Issue with Canon 5D Mark IV

canon-5d-mark-iv-image

There is no major issue, as we all know Canon all DSLR camera comes with built-in lens correction tool that corrects Peripheral illumination, Chromatic aberration and Diffraction once the shot is captured. Every Canon EOS camera have lens database inside and apply lens correction algorithm only when native Canon lenses mounted on it.  Lens correction tool doesn’t work with third party lenses and the second thing don’t try to adjust focus ring while lens is on AF mode, Manual Override not available with Sigma lenses.

From Sigma

Thank you for purchasing and using our products.

Please find the following notes on the usage of SIGMA interchangeable lenses for EOS, when attached to Canon EOS 5D Mark IV that is released on September 8th.

  • MO (Manual Override) function is unavailable with this camera (Full-time Manual function can be offered).
  • When using a SIGMA interchangeable lens for EOS, setting the corrections to [Disable] is recommended, as “Lens Correction” functions of the camera, such as Peripheral illumination correction, Chromatic aberration correction, Diffraction correction and Distortion correction are not supported.*

* If those functions are activated, the performance of lenses may not be accurate.
* This is not only for EOS 5D Mark IV, but also for other camera bodies with the same function.

We appreciate your continued support for our company and products.
