Search looks like GoPro is now serious in covering the market; they are now gearing up for a DJI Pocket-style compact camera, and it has been confirmed now. The latest patent that we have found related to the GoPro upcoming camera looks very, very similar to the existing DJI Pocket 3 vlogging camera. Vloggers search for the best compact camera for content creation, and DJI Pocket 3 style video cameras are now covering almost 50% of the video camera market share in Japan, so that’s a huge number, and now GoPro is thinking of entering the same market.

Speculations and What’s Next for GoPro’s 2026 Release
Not always all the patents translate to a final product, but this DJI-GoPro patent has already been discussed by its CEO in a recent interview—he already hinted. Other than that, we have searched almost all the existing patents of GoPro, and we were not able to find any sort of different camera other than this in the existing GoPro patent list of products.
So the GoPro strategy includes the rolling out of the Max 2 in late 2025, which is about to arrive soon, and we have already published all the possible details of the Max 2, including images, price, and specifications, in this post. Now, after Max 2, we will have a traditional update in the GoPro existing lineup, and after that, in the first half of 2026, we will have a dedicated vlogging compact camera from GoPro.
