Canon 5D Mark III is a 2+ year old camera and waiting for its successor, on the other hand we have recently announced Nikon D810 camera, successor of Nikon D800 and Nikon D800E (both). Take a look at the detailed specification comparison review below and share your thoughts with us….

Nikon D810 will give your more resolution compared to Canon 5D Mark III, but more resolution decreases the size of photodiodes and hence you will get noise at High ISO range with Nikon D810 (theoretically)
No OLPF (Optical Low Pass Filter) in Nikon D810 will give you sharp images (more details) when viewed at 100%, Canon 5D Mark III doesn’t have low pass filter. The difference will be clearly visible when you capture you images at base ISO range.
More ISO range in 5D Mark III – the Canon 5D Mark III features more HIGH ISO range 100-25600 (High Sensitivity Mode: 50-102400) compared to Nikon D810 – standard ISO range is 64-12800 (High Sensitivity Mode: 32-51200), hence you will get better low-light images with the Canon 5D Mark III DSLR.
Advance AF system in Canon 5D Mark III – Canon 5D Mark III features advance 61 point system features up to 41 cross-type AF points (with f/4 lens support) and 5 dual diagonal AF points (with f/2.8 sensitivity); this AF system is highly accurate and extremely low-light sensitive. The Nikon limited to 51 point AF system and 15 cross-type sensors, so Canon 5D Mark III will do faster AF than Nikon D810.
Better Video mode in Nikon D810 – The Nikon D810 captures Full HD videos @ 60fps frame rate and it can be recorded in MOV, MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 file formats, Canon 5D Mark III Full HD video recording is limited to 30 fps and available file formats are same as Nikon D810 (MOV, MPEG-4 AVC/H.264).
Verdict: Canon 5D Mark III features more ISO range and advance AF system compared to Nikon D810, so we recommend you to buy Canon 5D Mark III over Nikon D810 DSLR.

do we actually need a compact M4/3 camera after GM1?
According to a latest rumors published over the website SLRclub (Korea), Panasonic may soon announce a fixed lens based compact M4/3 camera (no detailed information available right now).

The fixed lens M4/3 camera rumor started two years ago when MR-Uematsu told Quesabesde that there could be a “possible future fixed lens camera with larger Four Thirds sensor”.
Finally, we are sure about the arrival of 1 inch sensor based compact camera LX8 on July 16, but there is also some possibility that we may see a M4/3 based compact camera on the same day.
