Canon was working on 5DS / 5DSR and Fullframe Mirrorless camera before the interview was published
Take a look at the interview (published on September 25th, 2014)
Masaya Maeda, the Managing Director and Chief Executive, Image Communication Products Operations confirmed that Canon is working on serious mirrorless camera system other than EOS-M
Currently no Canon camera offers more than 22MP. Do your DSLR customers ask for higher resolution? Maeda: Yes. We know that many of our customers need more resolution and this is under consideration. In the very near future you can expect us to show something in terms of mirrorless and also a higher resolution sensor.
We have already seen the Canon 5DS and 5DS R DSLR with super resolution 50MP fullframe sensor..what left is Canon Fullframe Mirrorless Camera.
What I have said on December 22nd, 2014 [link here]
No Need for Mirrorless Camera if it doesn’t directly support EF and EF-S lenses, Canon users those who have already invested a large amount of on high quality lenses will not going to invest more money in new lenses ….and the mirrorless cam is useless if the camera body arrived by having similar sensor as of Canon DSLRs , it’s a flop show… and no one’s want to see that..
The recently announced Sony A7R II camera features newly developed Hybrid CMOS AF sensor fabricated with 399 Phase AF points that let you achieve focus quickly even when used with third party lenses…Take a look at the specification of review of both the camera,
Major Difference
Sony Alpha 7R II vs. Sony Alpha 7R Specification Comparison Table.
.Megapixels: –
Let’s start with the resolution of both the camera, there is no much difference in the resolution between them but SonyA7R II has comparatively a bit more resolution than its predecessor Sony A7R.
Sony A7R II is based on the world’s first back-illuminated full-frame sensor 42.4 MP Exmor R BSI CMOS Sensor and No optical low pass filter inside it gives you vast amounts of details when used with recommended set of lenses. Sony A7R is limited to 36.4MP Exmor CMOS Sensor with No Optical Low Pass Filter .
Both the cameras have used the similar Exmor R CMOS sensor but Sony A7R II has followed the BSI (back-illuminated) technology which increased the ISO range from 25600 to 102400 . Hence the presence of BSI technology and bit high resolution in Sony A7R II makes it superior to Sony A7R.
Image Stabilization:-
Sony A7R II is packed with a 5-axis SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilization system. Such type of system provides the solution for five types of camera shake during shooting of still images and videos. Due to the presence of this system the users can use any lens, even adapted lenses, for imagery without facing any problems due to camera shake. This system offers about 4.5 stops of shutter speed during shooting different varieties of subjects.
It’s all the 5 axis of stabilization system runs every time, even if the users used with third –party lenses and adapters.
There is no presence of Image Stabilisation in Sony A7R.
Hence presence of Image Stabilization in Sony A7R II makes it superior to Sony A7R because it compensates in real time for shaking and vibrating while recording the subjects.
AF System: –
Sony a7RII uses Fast Hybrid AF with 399 Phase-Detect Points with 45% coverage along with 25 contrast-detect AF points, due to this it became the world’s first full frame mirrorless camera with highest AF points. The Hybrid AF sensor and Bionz X image processor increases the speed, accuracy and tracking performance of the system. It offers faster readout which is due to the presence of the back-illuminated sensor structure and it also allows for tracking while shooting at the top continuous shooting rate of 5 fps. It also allows Lock-on AF tracking that release more information from the scene which helps in the improvement of accurate and stable imaginary.
But Sony A7R uses new Fast Intelligent AF system which has only 25 contrasts-detect AF points which is optimized for the full-frame sensor including flexible spot focus areas in addition to multipoint, center-weighted, and zone focusing.
Due to the presence of advanced AF System and more AF points in Sony A7RII, it make it totally different and superior to its predecessor.
ISO Range:-
The Sony A7R II has more ISO Range of 50-102400 due to the presence of BSI technology, which helps it to capture the object in dim light, provide high level of low-noise performance and dynamic range, which makes it superior to its predecessor Sony A7R and hence due to low ISO range Sony A7R provides low image quality.
Video:-
The a7RII is the first full-frame camera to offer internal UHD 4K video recording at 30 or 24 fps, Sony A7R was limited to 4K recording only.
Additionally, the A7R II camera can record videos by using 399 Phase AF points, its a great advantage that a you can use fast Phase detect AF instead of slow and sluggish contrast detect AF.
Other difference – The other major difference we have spotted is price, the Sony A7R available at $1,898.00 and the Sony A7R II camera available at $3,198.00.
Verdict: The Sony A7R II specification is far better than its predecessor, you get high sensitivity CMOS sensor with 399 Hybrid Phase AF points and a option to record 4K videos.
Sony A7R II is finally available for pre-order at Amazon and B&H

Take this with a grain of salt since the information is coming from a new source. We will update you soon as we get any new information.
Update: Photokina 2016 is already crossed and .Nikon is keeping silence on the successor of Nikon D850 camera. Actually Nikon is looking forward to Canon, since according to rumors Canon is also updating Canon 5DS R camera and its successor is expected to arrive in June or August of 2017. At the same timeframe we also expect we will see announcement of Nikon D850 camera.
We are doing a specification comparison here take a look at the major difference between both the camera…
Major Difference
Canon PowerShot G3 X vs. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 II Specification Comparison Table.
Sensor: Both the camera features almost same sensor and same resolution but the technologies inside the sensor is different, the Sony RX10 uses Exmor RS BSI CMOS sensor and on the other hand the Canon uses CMOS sensor (of RX100 M3 camera).
with the help a new sensor’s design that utilizes a stacked CMOS image sensor with a DRAM chip and backside-illuminated technology, the RX10 will sure give you neat image (without noise at higher ISO settings).
Lens: The Canon G3X have 25X Optical zoom and RX10 is limited to 8.3X optical zoom only, the major advtange of the RX10 camera is constant aperture range of the camera, the RX10 offers you fixed F2.8 aperture throught the zoom range on the other hand the Canon 25X optical zoom lens have variable aperture starting from 2.8-5.6, the constant aperture will sure give you more DOF in RX10 images when used at longer focal length compared to Canon.
The Sony RX10 features better close-up range compared to the Canon G3X (5cm vs 3cm), a better macro mode allow you to go more closer to the subject with losing the focus of the camera.
Auto focus system: Both the camera features same contrast based AF system, however the Canon have more dense AF points compared to Sony.
Continuous shooting speed: Despite of having same resolution as of G3X camera the Sony RX10 features blazing fast continuous shooting speed of 14fps on the other hand the Canon G3X camera is limited to 5.5fps only,
Thanks to the introduction of DRAM chip is integrated into the sensor, and combined with the BINOZ X processor, it allows for fast readout speeds directly from the sensor, with the help of the new technology the burst shooting touched a new height of up to 14 fps, and now you can use maximum physical shutter speed of 1/3200 sec and a maximum electronic shutter speed of 1/32000 sec.
The Sony RX10 gives a prefect place for thumb-grip and button layout are more perfectly designed compared to Canon, the other major advantage is the presence of XGA OLED Electronic Viewfinder on the rear side of the camera.
4K Video: The RX10 can shoot 4K (30/24fps) videos Up to 29 Minutes, the Canon G3X is limited to Full HD (60p) video mode only… while recording the videos you can use the full optical zoom and fulltime AF support of both the camera.
Verdict: From specification comparison review it is very clear that Canon G3X is offering us more optical zoom lens on the other hand the Sony RX10 II features bright optical zoom lens with F2.8 aperture, that will give us better color and contrast with more DOF when used at longer focal length, the camera also features newly developed DRAM memory (buffer) Chip on the rear side of the sensor to increase the data transfer speed exponentially that help to to achieve continuous shooting speed of 15fps and also able capture 4K without an issue.
We highly recommend you to go with Sony RX10 II, It’s and all-rounder camera and recommend for still and video shooters and if you are a still shooter and need more zoom lens and DOF / continuous shooting speed isn’t a issue for than you should go with Canon G3X

Nicolamaiani – Yes, I did. Via ALL kit Nikon and Sony go with a new outfit . It was not an easy choice, or because I always took with Nikon, or because the Mirrorless Fullframe have little more than a year on the shoulders, but since the machines would arrive due to change anyway because at the end of life, I said, “why not change the system? New season, new system “. So here is that I have taken 2 Sony A7 II , the 55mm f1.8 Zeiss FE and the brand new 28mm f2.0 Sony FE (which I received on the day before the wedding). Here I added 2 flash Yongnuo YN-560 MKIII and their commander, the Yongnuo YN-560tx . And with that I went for my first marriage weblog Sony.
It’s not often I see a Sony on the photo pit, but this report was completely done with a Sony A7 II. Check it out if you may! (image captured by Marco Trigo – Photographer at PT jornal) Translated webpage of PT Jornal is here
