Canon-7D-Mark-II-camera-ima

Canon is testing a new camera and a new (may be 100-400mm) lens at the football world-cup, you can clearly see the mystery camera covered with white tarp.

A quick recap –

We already told you earlier that current prototypes of Canon 7D Mark II / professional APS-C format camera will be tested during 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brasil, the final announcement of the product is expected to be announced on September 2014.

We also told you here that upcoming Canon 7D Mark II camera will have a EOS 1 series top plate that clearly means that 7D Mark II will not have any mode dial above the top panel.

Sony Curved Sensor Sample Image

Sony-RX2-Sample-Image
The Sony first curved sensor sample image surfaced over the web, the sample image a proof that Sony has really developed and implemented curved sensor successfully inside the upcoming fixed lens prototype camera (possibly Sony RX2?).

The image and other info surfaced over the web also suggest that the upcoming fullframe fixed lens camera RX2 will feature faster and compact lens design without any vignetting issue.

Canon 5D Mark 4K - Next 5D Series Camera to feature 4K Video

Canon-5D-Mark-4-K-image

Canon 5D Mark IV (or 4K) will feature 4K video recording according to latest rumors, but back in February 2014 the CCR website already told us that the upcoming 5D Mk IV will shoot 4K video, hence finally we are getting multiple confirmation about this particular feature.

The rumor look true to me since in my view 5D Mark III was not a true successor of 5D Mark II camera in-terms of video, so finally we will see 5D Mark 4K camera with excellent video recording feature as well as with advance cores specification for still-shooters, a perfect camera for everyone.

Canon-Smartphone-image

Canon and Microsoft Patent Cross-Licensing Agreement surfaced over the web, according to the agreement both company will use each other technologies for upcoming future products.

I believe Canon will possibly launch a Windows mobile OS based powershot N models in future and Microsoft will use Canon high-end technologies ( may be Dualpixel AF CMOS sensor?) in upcoming flagship Lumia Phones.

Press Release by Microsoft USA

REDMOND, Wash., and TOKYO — July 2, 2014 — Microsoft Corp. and Canon Inc. on Wednesday broadened their strategic alliance with the announcement of a broad patent cross-licensing agreement. With this agreement, Microsoft and Canon gain licenses to each other’s highly valued and growing patent portfolios.

“This collaborative approach with Canon allows us to deliver inventive technologies that benefit consumers around the world,” said Nick Psyhogeos, general manager, associate general counsel, IP Licensing of the Innovation and Intellectual Property Group at Microsoft. “Microsoft believes cooperative licensing is an effective way to accelerate innovation while reducing patent disputes.”

This agreement covers a broad range of products and services each company offers, including certain digital imaging and mobile consumer products. Microsoft and Canon have a long history of collaborating to bring high-quality, cutting-edge products to consumers, including color technology. Contents of the agreement will not be disclosed.

“This agreement is a natural extension of our longstanding relationship with Microsoft and commitment to developing innovative technologies,” said Hideki Sanatake, senior general manager, Corporate Intellectual Property & Legal Headquarters of Canon Inc.
