And if you look at the specification of the recently announced Canon 77D camera, (see comparisons of both camera here), then you will going to find that Canon 77D features advanced Core specification when compared to the Canon 80d camera.

Why we are saying that the Canon 77D features advanced Core specification?, because the image processor inside the canon 77D is better than the Canon 80d. New image processor will bring new image decoding algorithm and hence you will see better image quality from it.

Just like Canon 77D the Core specification of the 800d also resembles with the Canon 80d camera.

Hence, after the announcement of these two clones the sales of Canon 80d will going to slow down tremendously. Only those who require a weather sealed camera Now going to purchase the 80D. Now what next will Canon do, the simple answer is to announce the successor of Canon 80d camera as soon as possible.

we have 3 camera by having exactly same Core specification. and hence we expect Canon will going to announce Canon 90d or maybe Canon 80d mark in near future.

During an interview to Yahoo Japan Nikon executives said that they will bring multiple mirrorless camera at an early stage. The things to be noted that after extraordinary loss news, this is the first good news we are getting itself from Nikon, more details below…

1. “Bringing in multiple mirroless camera at an early stage”

The line was quoted during the interview, after suffering from heavy loss Nikon is finally realizing it’s mistakes. Nikon is still not making any serious mirrorless solutions for professionals, seasonal or entry level Photographers. However we are the only website who told you Nikon is planning to expand it’s Nikon 1 series Mirrorless camera and soon we will see FF and APS-C Mirrorless from Nikon.

2. Medium and High-End DSLRs

Nikon executives also told during the interview that future Nikon will concentrate on their resources on medium and high-end in DSLR cameras and lenses and mirrorless camera.

Nikon Announce a camera, High-End DPAF Sensor based mirrorless camera in near future. As you can look at the patent we have published here and it clrealy indicates that Nikon is also working on same Dual-pixels CMOS AF tech as of Canon.

What will happen to the current schedule announcement of cameras?

The other things to be noted is Nikon camera business has been re-constructing from inside to out, that clearly indicates that the future of announcement and development is going to be rescheduled. That may create some level of disappointment among Nikon users due to the delay in the regular update cycle of DSLRs.

Nikon Patent - BSI CMOS Sensor with Dual Pixel AF

Before we begin I must admit it it’s very hard to understand a patent literature, but after analyzing the entire document we concluded that Nikon working on a BSI CMOS AF Sensor. The sensor won’t have dead Phase AF pixels as the other Hybrid sensor have, instead of that it working principle looks same as Canon’s Dual-pixel CMOS AF sensor.

Nikon Dual Pixel AF Sensor ?

Till now only Canon was only company who was using dual pixel CMOS AF Technology. But when we have seen the new Nikon latest patent where two sub pixels involved in acquiring AF, that clearly indicates Canon isn’t alone and Nikon will soon bring a new class of Hybrid Sensors for it’s DSLRs and Mirrorless cameras in near future.

But now after looking at the patent we have got its look like Nikon is also interested in working on the same dual pixel CMOS sensor Technology.

A backside illumination image sensor that includes a semiconductor substrate with a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements and a read circuit formed on a front surface side of the semiconductor substrate, and captures an image by outputting, via the read circuit, electrical signals generated as incident light having reached a back surface side of the semiconductor substrate is received at the photoelectric conversion elements includes: a light shielding film formed on a side where incident light enters the photoelectric conversion elements, with an opening formed therein in correspondence to each photoelectric conversion element; and an on-chip lens formed at a position set apart from the light shielding film by a predetermined distance in correspondence to each photoelectric conversion element. The light shielding film and an exit pupil plane of the image forming optical system achieve a conjugate relation to each other with regard to the on-chip lens.

Details from the patent document clearly indicates that Nikon is working on a BSI CMOS sensor that will have two sub pixels that will do AF by calculating the amount of lens drive Between the two autofocus point.
