As per the latest Rumors suggesting the “Nikon Z9s Project” started, the camera aims to compete against the Canon R1 camera. If everything goes as planned inside Nikon Z9s camera will mark its presence in Q4 of 2025. —
TNC Take – Historically, Nikon tends to release an “S” version or incremental upgrade of their flagship models before launching an entirely new generation. Given the Z9’s success, a Z9s is a logical step for Nikon to maintain momentum in the competition while refining key features like sensor, autofocus, processing power, and video capabilities. According to the Latest rumors from the web, we may see a Panasonic S5 R camera with a 47-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, similar to what we have already seen in the Panasonic S1R. According to sources, the key twist is that the camera will have improved autofocus. However, the information available to us is limited, so I cannot confirm at this moment if it will indeed have a hybrid 47 MP full-frame sensor, OR a DFD one like we have seen in the Panasonic S1R.
UPDATE: In the latest post source the S5R prototypes use 47 and 61 MP sensors from Sony, and the 61MP Version has been approved for production line
we do not know the exact announcement date, for that, we have to wait. Stay tuned more updates coming
