Panasonic S5 Mark II vs Sony A7 IV – We are comparing the two specifications. Panasonic S5 mark II camera features a newly developed 24MP Sensor with Phase detect AF points and support of DFD still there. The Max burst speed of the Panasonic S5 Mark II is 30fps with an electronic shutter and the expandable ISO range is 50-204800. Since, it’s Panasonic’s first full-frame camera so, we are not expecting blazing-fast AF performance like Sony A7 IV, but at least we will get a more accurate and fast AF system compared to its predecessor the Panasonic S5.
The Video part of the Panasonic S5 is more intense? the camera features open gate 6k 29.9 fps @ 4:2:0 10-bit LongGOP and UHD videos @ 29.97p, 200Mbps (4:2:2 10-bit LongGOP) (H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, LPCM) and APS-CROP DCI 4k @ 50fps, 200Mbps (4:2:2 10-bit LongGOP) (H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, LPCM). So, u have to face an APS-C crop if you want to have a 60fps frame rate in UHD or DCI 4k which is not that impressive. Although if we combine all those features of the cinema part, which include Timecode, XLR Mic input, and an advanced built-in fan to suppress overheating. UPDATE: We can clearly see vents in the leaked image, which shows the upcoming Panasonic S5 Mark II camera uses active cooling technology for loner run.
According to the latest rumors we have from rumor mills the Canon R8 announcement is expected in Feb of 2023. Canon R8 Announcement in February 2023. According to the rumor mill, the camera will feature the same sensor as we have seen in the Canon R10 camera, a 24MP Traditional FSI APS-C CMOS Sensor. No information is available about the core specs of the camera.
Earlier it was rumored that Canon R8 will replace the Canon EOS R with a full-frame sensor and advanced core specification, but am disappointed to see that one more Camera is coming in between R10 and R7 with an APS-C sensor and we already have rumors of Canon R50 and R100 too, so how many RF mount camera Canon wants to add for entry-level users without having proper APS-C RF lens range? as well as the Lens mount is also locked for third party lens makers.
