According to the latest rumors we have, Nikon has implemented some sort of partial restriction on its Z-mount Lenses, requiring third-party lens manufacturers to abide by specific guidelines if they wish to create lenses for the Latest Nikon Mirrorless cameras. Now, let’s have a look at what are those guidelines or the rules that the Third-party lens makers should follow while making the lenses for the Nikon Z-Mount cameras,
- The Most important rule that every thrid party lens maker should follow, is lens makers are prohibited from making up lenses with the same focal length, that already exist in the Nikon Z-mount or even in Nikon’s future roadmap. This move has been executed by Nikon with the intention of safeguarding the sales of its native Z-mount lenses. For example, a third-party brand such as Tamron can produce lenses with a focal length of 28-75mm F2.8 (we already have it as a re-branded lens) or 35-150mm F2-F2.8, but they are not authorized to sell lenses with a focal length of 24-70mm F4, which is already offered by Nikon. So, this rule is limited to AF (AutoFocus Lenses)
- If You make Manual Focus Lenses for Nikon Z-Mount cameras, then there are no issues and no rules for the third-party lens makers. You can make lenses of any focal length possible.
Do you think Canon should follow the same policy? If yes then let us know via comments

The Canon R8 camera can shoot up to 40 frames per second with full-time AF and AE support and support, the same as we have seen in the Canon R6 Mark II. As we all know a few days ago Panasonic announced the Panasonic S5 Mark II camera, the camera is able to shoot 30FPS of continuous bursts, and it was the only camera in the full frame category to touch that speed under $2000 price range. Now, to compete it Canon R8 arrived with 40FPS bursts to dominate the range again. But, at the same time, the Canon R8 doesn’t have the IBIS support that Panasonic S5 Mark II or S5X II has. If ur a cinematographer and work with gimbals then actually you won’t miss the Canon IBIS system, but if ur a vlogger and u do handheld vlogs then for sure Canon R8 isn’t that helpful to give you stabilize footage as of Canon R6 Mark II or Panasonic S5 Mark II camera. Now, for photographers out there, sorry but I have to say you have no other option left ur you guys, if you shoot 70% to 80% of your content handheld, you have to go with a Canon R6 Mark II camera, or if you love to buy Canon R8 then remember the 2X shutter speed rule to combat camera shake and get OIS lenses.
The Canon R8 is also able to record 4K 60fps video via 6K oversampling method (full sensor readout), and FullHD 180fps Slo-mo recording, convenient for shooting cinematic frames. Canon R8 is also loaded with the Canon’s C-Log3 feature, so if ur a professional cinematographer and love to grade your videos to extract the maximum possible out from a given scene. Then undoubtedly the Canon R8 camera is made for you. So, at this price range of under $2000 cameras, we are getting rock-solid core specifications inside, whether you are a videographer, cinematographer, wedding shooter, or sports shooter the Canon R8 camera will going to impress you a lot, is a perfect option if you are looking for a perfect full frame mirrorless camera body under $2000 price range. If you can spend more u have its bigger brother the Canon R6 Mark II with 7 to 8 stops of IBIS.
Don’t get confused with the vari-angle monitor, the new Canon R8 camera features a Variance Monitor specifically helpful for cinematographers and professional content creators The USB-C port allows for direct streaming, and the camera features a new form factor to impress a new consumer base. The camera weighs 461g and comes with a kit lens, the RF24-50mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM. The body is priced at $1499 and the lens kit is at $1699.

According to the latest rumors surfaced over the web, Canon is about to announce a new entry-level full-frame Mirrorless lens this month, the Canon RF 24-50mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM Lens. Well, we do have a super outdated Canon EOS Rp waiting for an update, and if you want to have an affordable kit zoom lens then the most affordable lens we have in Canon is RF24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM (Amazon.com | B&H Store). So, while adding one more entry-level lens to RF Mount they want to make a wider reach to the consumer base.
Take a look at the article we have published yesterday “Canon to Expand EOS R Mirrorless Camera Range in 2023 | Canon EOS R Mark II Coming?”. In that article, Canon wrote “expand our market share and maintain high profitability by building a more robust EOS R system lineup” the line suggests that Canon is planning to announce a new camera model or models that will attract and expand the user base of interchangeable lens cameras. This could mean that the new model may have features aka specifications that will appeal to a broader range of users, beyond just professionals and advanced amateurs. Read more here
