According to latest rumors, Sony will going to announce a new product in the month of April 2017. Take a look of the possible products that may be announced during April 2017 according to SAR
90% chance: New camcorders will be announced at NAB (April 23)
80% chance: new 16-35mm f/2.8 GM
70% chance: New E-mount FF camera trimmed for speed (Low Megapixel number, fastest autofocus of all Sony cameras, around 20fps, dual SD card, joystick control, unlimited RAW recording).
70% chance: New tele E-mount lens (probably 100-400mm FE or/and a 400mm FE)
Basically the list do have all the possible products name that may arrive this year. But unfortunately, we aren’t getting any concrete information related to the product announcement.
What Actually Coming ?
It all started when Japanese website Nokoshita Claims that Sony registered our new product on Chinese and MIT agency for bluetooth and WiFi certification on February 15 2017. And the same website also claimed that Sony will going to announce the registered camera after 2 months from its date of registration, that is from February Sony will going to take roughly 2 months to announce the registered product.
Sony A7 Series Product Codes – WW 32xxxx
After looking at the product code name carefully, we have found that the registered product code name patterns matches to the Sony A7 series cameras and hence, It increases the possibility that Sony will going to announce a new A7 series mirrorless camera in near future.

An anonymous tipster claims that he have spotted to be announced next Sony flagship camera out in the wild. The tipster is a reader of SAR website. Tipster spotted a photographer from Sandisk who was using a bit big A7 series camera. The camera model name and the lenses he was using at the moment was masked with tape to not show. Let’s break the entire information into the major points
Sony A9 / Upcoming flagship Details – According to the tipster
- According to the tipster the upcoming camera is having bit more heavy grip compared to the current A7 series camera.
- The size and shape of the camera is pretty big as compared to the current A7 series cameras you can relate it with Canon 1dx mark 2, not as big as that but somehow similar to that camera.
- Joystick control
- Unable to see the SD card slots of the mirrorless camera, But why looking externally he feels that there is a place for to SD cards
- Source claim that the camera can capture 14 frames per second continuous shooting speed. As he was able to guess that is speed by hearing the continuous burst sound of the camera which is quite unbelievable.
- He also silently confirms the presence of 16-35mm f/2.8 GM and 100-400mm FE lens with the photographer.
The source is new and No Rock-solid information coming from the source. But, the joystick information is big catch and it will sure add a new dimension of extended control in Sony A7 series camera.
On March 8 2017 we have published Sony Registered an new FF camera in China MIT agency and its model code was WW 361847. Sony will going to announce new mirrorless camera on April.

According to latest rumors coming from trusted sources Sony will going to announce our new 100-400G lens next month. Tipsters of the website also said the lens will going to be announced with a new camera this April.
New camera on April 2017? Did you remember that On March 8 2017 we have published of post – Sony FF Mirrorless Registered – Coming in April ? Sony registered a full frame mirrorless camera on Chinese MIIT agency, the camera was registered on February 15 2017 for WiFi and Bluetooth certification .
Japanese resources has given us hint that after two months of registration we may see new product announcement from Sony. Note that 2 months of cycle completes on April 2017 and in that particular month we expect the announcement of new mirrorless camera along with the new 100-400mmG lens has we have mentioned above.
Now we all know that the Sony mirrorless system cameras are affordable but their lenses aren’t. They Cost almost equivalent when compared to the luxury series OR High-end lenses of other DSLR lens manufacturers. Sony should keep the price tag of the new lens bit reasonable to attract more professional A7 series users. The new Canon 100-400 MM lens cost approx $2 (Amazon | B&H) and to complete against Canon and Nikon and Sony should tag price under $2k.

A new set of specification Leaked today related to Sony high in mirrorless camera. According to the tipsters, Sony is working on two high-end mirrorless camera one feature high resolution sensors and may be called successor of ultra popular Sony A7R III or Sony A9 and other camera features a low resolution sensor dedicated for speed and accuracy, expected to be named as Sony A7III (successor or Sony A7II).
1. The Low Resolution FF Camera with 20FPS and advance AF
The source also said that, Sony low-resolution camera can capture continuous shots up to 20 frames per second and that’s is really insane. The same camera will have Dual card slot as well as unlimited buffer. The camera will have advance autofocusing system (even better than A7RII) dedicated for Speed and accuracy. It will be a super high performance AF camera and maybe call successor of Highly popular Sony A7II
2. Sony A9
Today the source again confirmed that Sony is working on a 70MP camera. Designed specifically for professional shooters around the world. Keep in mind that the 70MP resolution talk is not new few months ago Sony representative confirmed us during the interview that Sony is working on a 70MP sensor camera. The name is not confirmed yet so may be called Sony A7R III or Sony A9.

A new product registered at Chinese MIT certification agency by Sony Corporation . From the model name it is clearly visible that the next product WW 361847 is going to A7 series full frame mirrorless camera. You can also see the series of product having WW 3xxxxx in its code name specifically belong to mirrorless cameras Group. Take a look at the screenshot below.

Since Sony is often announced within two months after being registered with China MIIT, I would like to expect that a new model will be announced in the near future.
The product was registered on Feb of 2017 and hence we can expect it’s announcement on April of 2017.
On January 25 we have published a article Earlier it was expected that Sony will going to announce Sony A7III camera soon, So, there is possibility that Sony A7III camera will arrive in next 1 to 2 months from now.

But the good news is sensors demand is up all time by 40% which is due to high demand of image sensors in smartphone units.

We know that Camera and Photo Imagine Show 2017 is on next month and we are expecting some BIG announcements from Sony from the beginning of Feb 2017. According to latest information the Sony is rumored to announce a high-end mirrorless camera in next few months along-side with Sony A7III camera and new Sony G lenses.
Before we begin, if we believe on a tipster of a reputed rumor mill then we have the following announcement schedule from Sony

Note: If we divide events in single year then in Q1/Q2 Sony should announce A7II successor + High End FF camera.

The camera is rumored to feature a super resolution sensor and improved image stabilization.
If we look at some old post Sony japan mangers told us that Sony A7R III is coming with a 70-80 MP sensor [source]. So, at the end on thing is very clear that Sony A7R III was the camera to have a 70-80MP CMOS Sensor, if Sony changes the name or series it’s their choice and they are free to do that. But, till April 4th, 2016 A7R III was scheduled to arrive with a high resolution sensor.
Other than 70-80MP rumor is Sony also testing a 54MP FF CMOS Sensor prototype. The detailed specification not available yet.
Sony A7S III Coming with New Sensor
No one is daring to talk about Sony’s next Low Light King specification. We expect Sony will use a completely new sensor based on back-illuminated full-frame sensor technology. The tech will allow Sony increase the resolution as well as ISO sensitivity of the camera upto 3 to 4 stops.
