Finally, Nikon announced the long rumored 180-400mm lens with built-in tele converter. I still member that Canon first 200-400mm lens with built-in tele-converter was announced was announced on June 2013. After 4 years of gap Nikon announced its first super telephoto lens with buil-in teleconverter.
Let’s talk about the specification, price and availability of the lens, the lens carry a price tag of the lens. The lens will cost you approx $12K, $2k is more compared to Canon.

Nikon 180-400mm Lens details leaked today, according to latest rumors the lens is expected to be announced 3rd week of January possible on January 18, 2018 in Japan. We may see the 180-400mm glimpse of this lens in the CES show.
The shipment of 18-400mm lens will start from March of 2018 and will be price around 1,287,900 yen including tax and possibly $11000 on USA.

Thom Hogan is a veteran photograph and also and Nikon professional for a long time. This is not the first time Thom Hogan always publish post in the beginning of the year that contains a lot of predictions related to Nikon itself.
And many time the prediction is straight forward right. This year Thom Hogan predicted that Nikon will going to announce full frame mirrorless system camera in the CP Plus event in the month of March 2018

Still, we’re close. At least at the camera level. I expect Nikon to announce their new mirrorless system at CP+, which for 2018 begins with the month of March. I expect Nikon to have both DX and FX mirrorless options by the time Photokina rolls around next fall.
Thom says he expect that Nikon both FX and DX camera will become available by September of this year (during Photokina 2018 event). So, we may see either a development announcement or may be a DX sensor based Mirrorless camera this March as Thom said.
Even we are waiting for Nikon mirrorless cameras from a long time and we also do believe that Nikon will going to announce full frame mirrorless system this year.

Earlier we have posted that Nikon isn’t attending the CES 2018 event. But, Thanks to Thom Hogan and Doug Who told us that Nikon is attending the CES 2018 Event.
Why the confusion was occurred ? Since, Nikon isn’t listed any “official” CES press conference schedule, and that’s why we thought Nikon isn’t attending. But, they are coming and as Thom said “Companies don’t always list their press conferences there because they want to limit the press to their own specific contacts, not the broader CES ones. Thus, you can’t even say that Nikon won’t have a new product at CES. Indeed, it’s likely that they will (e.g. Coolpix P900 followup).”
At the moment we don’t know what actually coming at CES show, May be Nikon P1000 🙂 Well, Nikon have lot’s of announcement overdue, that includes Nikon D650, Nikon P1000, Nikon D760 and Nikon D5s. So, we have to wait and watch.

Nikon isn’t attending the CES event (you can also check here). That directly means Nikon will not going to announce the Nikon D5s anytime soon.
If you look at past, Nikon was using the CES platform to announce flagship cameras.
