Canon 6D Mark II Will Feature New Sensor, WiFi and NFC

canon-1DX-6D-MII-and...According to the latest rumors surfaced over the web the upcoming 6D Mark II camera will going to feature better core specification including new sensor and enhanced connectivity features compared to the predecessor, that doesn’t mean the camera will become a mid-entry level fullframe camera… the camera will remain at entry level position.

The rumor also suggest that the upcoming camera will be light weight, bit pricy and smaller compared to the current 6D camera. The camera will also feature built-in WiFi and NFC + a not specified “new connectivity feature”.

Canon 6D Mark II is expected to arrive on Q1 of 2017 or Q4 of 2016.

Canon EF 50mm STM and EOS M3 Review

Canon-50mm-lens-img

Recently announced 50mm STM review is posted by photozone website, take a look at the verdict below

The Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM is a slight improvement over the old EF 50mm f/1.8 II – more so mechanically rather than optically. Now the old EF 50mm f/1.8 II was already a good lens actually especially when stopped down. The EF 50mm f/1.8 STM has a much higher center sharpness at fully open aperture though. The low contrast in the image borders/corners remains an issue but the resolution is quite decent here. Stopping down to f/2.8 helps to lift the overall quality but the lens really shines between f/4 and f/8 where it doesn’t really get any better than that actually. The low [chromatic aberrations] also contribute to the high sharpness perception at medium aperture settings. Just like its predecessor, it produces a hefty amount of vignetting at fully open aperture. […] Image distortions aren’t completely negligible but still very low. An unfortunate weakness of the lens remains the bokeh.

Canon-EOS-M-lens-coming

Take a look at the EORS M3 review posted at ephotozine.com website

As a camera (and if you ignore the lack of native lenses) the Canon EOS M3 deliver high image quality, with good nosie performance up to and including ISO6400, and the camera has siginificantly improved focus performance, making it almost as quick as other mirrorless cameras, and quicker than some. Images have excellent colour and exposure, and look good on the tilting 3 inch touch-screen. For a Canon user with a number of EF lenses, then the EOS M3 would make an excellent companion to another DSLR, letting you use your favourite lenses with a smaller camera body. However, the EOS M3 will look much more apealling, if and when the price comes down to a level more in line with the competition.

Confirmed: Sigma SD2 will have 29MP Foveon X3 Quattro CMOS Image Sensor

image-Next-Sigma-DSLR-to-feWe already published this news  July 30th, 2014 that Sigma CEO said they will use DP2 Quattro camera in upcoming Sigma SD2 camera..

Now today Sigma CEO Kazuto Yamaki again said that Sigma is planning to use the Foveon X3 Quattro Direct sensor of the DP2 Quattro camera in upcoming SD series camera..

First, we started with the sensor development. We had already been discussing what kind of sensor we make with the Foveon, Inc. and we as SIGMA wanted to improve image quality (resolution) by increasing the number of pixels. The Quattro image sensor was born to deal with the increased data. As the first camera to have the new sensor, we chose the dp because of the shockless body and the dedicated lens optimized for the ultra high-resolution capturing. Of course, we’re planning to use the sensor for the SLR SD body.

The first sigma SD1 DSLR was announced on 2012 and it was using the the same sensor of Sigma ‘Merrill’ camera, Sigma SD1 was announced at Photokina 2010.

I was actually hoping for something more better from Sigma for the upcoming SD2 series camera, share your thoughts with us in the comment box…
