After covering the 40% market share of image sensor world last year Sony now concentrating on industrial sector. According to latest news surfaced at Bloomberg the company is working with Nissan Motor Co. and also taking help from a Tokyo University professor to make a affordable technology that can process 1,000 images a second.
High-frame rate sensor do exist but the cost is too high and impractical for mass-market uses. The camera with high-frame rate cost start from $1000 to $100,000. But Sony is planning to make a affordable version of a high speed camera and shrink the high speed sensor into a camera module for to fit in a car’s rear-view mirror and wearable devices.

Earlier for Canon it was impossible to add WiFi or NFC inside a pro camera due to the magnesium-alloy body, the mag-alloy body of the professional camera doesn’t allow WiFi antenna to work properly. But according to a unconfirmed news Canon recently has filed a patent about put Wi-Fi & GPS into Canon pro bodies (magnesium-alloy bodies). According to the members of CRforum Canon has finally figured out a way to put an antenna under the covering over the sloping surface of the pentaprism and if the information is correct then the upcoming pro-DSLRs camera like Canon 5D Mark IV or Canon 1DX Mark II may feature built in WiFi with NF.
According to Mt Spokane Photography of CRforum.com
This is based on a Patent approved the week of August 18.
Its Patent number US 9,113,062 B2
Here is a snipet from the description. As I read it, the flash shoe gets in the way of a antenna on a all metal body, so its put under the covering on the sloping surface of the pentaprism. This should overcome any issues with a radio on a all metal body.
“Conventionally, there has been proposed a configuration of an imaging apparatus in which a wireless communication unit is arranged on the top side of a pentaprism in a finder section (see Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2008-244735). However, an accessory shoe for providing communication by being connected to an external device such as a strobe is provided on the visible face of an imaging apparatus. Therefore, the metal section of the accessory shoe disturbs a radio wave to be emitted from or received by the antenna section of the wireless communication unit upon wireless communication, so that stable communication state cannot be obtained. In addition, the clearance between the wireless communication unit and the accessory shoe needs to be ensured, resulting in an undesirable increase in size in the height direction of the imaging apparatus. Accordingly, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2000-75381 discloses a configuration in which the wireless communication unit is arranged on the inclined surface (Dach surface) of the pentaprism such that the accessory shoe does not disturb a radio wave upon wireless communication.”
UPDATE @ 4/21/ 2016 – The Canon 1Dx Mark II announced by Canon in Jan 2016, the camera features built-in GPS uni and no WiFi or NFC, however one more patent surfaced over the web that shows Canon PRO DSLR bodies with working WiFi anntena inside the viewfinder of the camera so we do hope this time Canon upcoming 5D Mark IV and all the future pro bodies will have butil-in WiFi and NFC inside.
