From the specification we can clearly see that it features excellent ultra-bright lens with 4.2X optical zoom and F1.8 to F2.8 aperture range. The Lens also have capability to produce real life macro images (1:1) proportion.
Latest Video published over the web by Dustin Abbott clear a lot of confusion, It clearly shows us the newly announced Tamron SP 35mm f/1.8 VC and Tamron SP 45mm f/1.8 VC doing prefect AF with the Canon 7D Mark II latest Dual Pixel CMOS AF, however the AF noise of the Tamron lenses can be heard while watching the video.
Canon latest patent reveals 58mm Lens with bright F1.4 aperture for professional use, Birth of new 58mm category – Nokoton was the first to announce 58mm lens [Amazon] and the announcement was followed-up by Nikkor 58mm F1.4 [Amazon] and finally Canon also jumped on the same boat to compete with the N2, the detail of the patent is below.
Description, self-interpretation of the patent literature
According to latest information the upcoming Canon 5D Mark IV camera is expected to arrive before the NAB show. The NAB show will be going to held between 16-21, April 2016. Not today only, We are getting hints from Aug that Canon 5D Mk IV announcement is 6 months away. You can look at the post published here. We should also not forget the claims made by member MichaelVadon look here.
According to the rumors published a months ago, there may be two prototypes being tested in the wild with different sensors and advance video modes, however there are no detailed specification available about the camera.
At the end I would like to also add the Canon 1DX Mark II arrival is expected before the announcement of 5D Mark IV camera. Since Nikon is also preparing to announce Nikon D4s successor on Q1 of 2016 with high-end core specification compared to the current Nikon D4s camera.
We have already published a epic post related to Big Jump in the resolution of upcoming Canon 80D, Now according to latest rumors surfaced today Canon 80D may feature a 28 Megapixel CMOS sensor and advance AF system compared to the current Canon 70D camera. At this point we don’t want to make any speculation on the basis of rumors, there is a possibility that Canon may use the same Dual pixel CMOS AF technology of the Canon 7D Mark II camera, but there is also possibility that Canon may use one of the technology from the patents listed below
We are also getting some hint that upcoming Canon 80D camera may use anti-flickering technology employed on the EOS 7D Mark II and we may also see focus peaking technology just like the EOS M3 camera. I am sure with the implementation of focus peaking technology inside the Canon 80D will make focusing with manual lenses will become very easy. The expected announcement date of Canon 80D camera is summer of 2016.
According to rumors Canon will soon announce 70-200mm lens, however there is still bit confusion which version is actually coming. Canon As per record we know that the Canon 70-200mm lens was announced back in 2010 and the F4 version was announced on 2006, so technically speaking Canon should replace the Canon F4 Lens before replacing the F2.8 Lens.
We already know that Canon has the most advance range of AF sensor in industry (Hybrid & Dual-pixel), the entry level DSLRs uses Hybrid AF sensor that combines the Phase AF and Contrast AF technology on the other hand the pro APS-C DLSRs uses Dual-Pixel CMOS AF Tech that made up of two intelligent sub-pixels.
In general the Hybrid AF sensors uses two different technology, contrast detect and Phase Detect. The Phase Detect AF system is used for quickly locking AF on subject on the other hand the contrast detect AF system fine-tunes the AF point and enhances its accuracy.
However Canon finally wants to enhance the AF speed and accuracy to next level, they will now use light-field technology to improve the performance of the AF sensor inside the camera.
There is a big possibility that we may see a new generations of sensors based on Light – Field technology in near future with blazing fast AF speed.
