The 70-300mm F/4.5-6.3 Di III RXD (Model A047) for Sony full-frame E-mount mirrorless cameras is a telephoto zoom lens designed and created so photographers of all skill levels can enjoy high-quality images comfortably. It achieves the world’s smallest size and lightest weight, coming in at 148mm (5.8 in) long with a maximum diameter of 77mm, and weighing just 545g (19.2 oz). With special emphasis on resolving power, Tamron has deployed special lens elements appropriately arranged to correct chromatic aberration, generally very strong in a telephoto lens, as well as other aberrations. Users can enjoy high-resolution images combined with the stunning bokeh qualities that are achievable only with a telephoto lens. The lens also incorporates the RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) stepping motor unit, a high-speed precision AF drive system that is remarkably quiet. The 70-300mm F4.5-6.3 is a versatile lens for photographing landscapes, sports and other action, pets and wildlife, and more. The lens also demonstrates its potential for portrait shooting, casual snapshots, and scenarios that require you to be mobile and shoot handheld, like sporting events. The apparent image compression and the close-up effects characteristic of telephoto lenses naturally amplify photographic expression. Zooming in on distant objects and making them appear closer is one of the joys of telephoto shooting. This zoom lens provides an entryway into that new world.
Tamron’s new 70-300mm F4.5-6.3 Major Features
– Fast Hybrid AF
– Eye AF
– Direct Manual Focus (DMF)
– In-camera lens correction
(shading, chromatic aberration, distortion)
– Camera-based lens unit firmware updates
Additional Features
– Moisture-Resistant Construction

High-quality images with beautiful, dreamy bokeh
The lens is made up of 15 elements in 10 groups with an appropriate arrangement of LD (Low Dispersion) lens elements. Aberrations such as axial chromatic aberration (which tends to occur in telephoto lens designs) have been well corrected. The 300mm end, which receives particularly frequent use in a telephoto zoom, provides excellent high-resolution performance from the center of the image all the way to the corners. Stunning bokeh (intentional background blur qualities) is another remarkable feature of this new lens.
Superb AF keeps it sharp and quiet
The AF drive incorporates an RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) stepping motor unit. RXD uses an actuator that is able to precisely control the rotational angle of the motor, allowing it to drive the focusing lens without passing through a reduction gear.
The addition of a sensor that detects the position of the lens to a high degree of accuracy enables high- speed and precise AF, which allows you to maintain razor-sharp focus when shooting continually moving subjects or filming video. The lens is also remarkably quiet, eliminating concerns of drive sounds being picked up while shooting video.

TNC Exclusive: Fujitsu announced that it has received an order for a new supercomputer system from Canon. The supercomputer’s benefits will ultimately help to deliver an enhanced product development flow through Canon’s “no-prototype” initiative. This system is planned to begin operations in the first half of 2021.
Canon is promoting a “no-prototype” initiative in the development of its products, such as office multifunction devices and other various types of printers, cameras, and semiconductor lithography equipment. To make this initiative a reality, Canon is leveraging 3D CAD data in analytical simulations to evaluate multiple facets of proposed products, including functionality, as well as ease of manufacturing. In the past, Canon has relied on both a Fujitsu Supercomputer PRIMEHPC FX10 system and a Fujitsu Supercomputer PRIMEHPC FX100 system.
Now, to take its initiative to the next level, Canon has adopted Fujitsu’s PRIMEHPC FX1000 system, which delivers reliable, high-performance computing power, with world-leading energy efficiency.

And finally an unexpected announcement from Canon that literally changes the game. Canon will be reasing a EF-EOS R Mount adapter with 0.71x crop factor for the Canon C70 camera.
Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x – an EF Lens to RF Mount adapter giving filmmakers the freedom to use the entire EF lens line-up with the EOS C70, optimizing compatibility across two of Canon’s most popular lens lines.
Full-function lenses can communicate various information with the EOS C70. The following three lenses are full supported without a firmware update: EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM, EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM, EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM. Lenses other than full-function lenses can also shoot with a brighter f-number with an equivalent angle of view as full frame. We will continue to expand the range of full-function lenses by gradually upgrading the firmware.
When paired with the EOS C70, the Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x employs an optical conversion to capture a Full Frame angle of view of an EF lens even when used with a Super 35mm sensor, as well as an increased light transmission of approximately 1-stop. The adapter enables full communication between three EF lenses and the camera body – EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM, EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM, and EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM- providing continued support for Canon’s extensive range of EF lenses. Auto Focus, peripheral illumination and chromatic aberration correction, and the transfer of lens metadata are also fully supported when using the Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x
Available for full-function lenses which include the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM, EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM, EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM Lenses. Canon plans to gradually expand the list of compatible lenses by providing free-of-charge firmware updates in 2021.
