Today DXO Mark published the list of best zoom and prime lenses for the astonishing Olympus E-M1 Mark II camera. The Olympus E-M1 Mark II camera features excellent core specification and some online reports also said that the camera can provide camera shake upto 6 stops in certain condition.

To me the Olyumpus E-M1 Mark II camera is the best still Micro Fourthird camera available today, no one can compete the specification of the E-M1 Mk II for now.

According to the latest rumors surfaced over the web Olympus will soon announce new OMD series camera, the upcoming camera is completely new and it’s not a successor of any present OMD series camera , that includes OMD E-M1, E-M5 and E-M10.

It’s really interesting to  hear that Olympus is working on a completely new OMD series camera, there is a very good possibility that the upcoming OMD camera will be Hybrid Camera just like Samsung NX1 Mirrorless (see NX1 at Amazon) by having 4K recording option and a Phase AF sensor…. these features will make upcoming OMD series camera a prefect competitor for recently announced Samsung NX1 camera, Canon 7D Mark II camera or Panasonic GH4.

Olympus announces three new lenses with E-M10 Camera

With the announcement of E-M10 camera Olympus also announced three new lenses the

  • Olympus m.Zuiko Digital 25mm F1.8
  • Olympus m.Zuiko Digital 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 EZ
  • Olympus 9mm F8 Fish-Eye Body Cap Lens

The m.Zuiko Digital 25mm F1.8 is newest addition to prime lenses series and comes with Movie & Stills Compatible AF System, the cost is also bit affordable ($399 at B&H) ,

the other one is Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 EZ Lens , it features a very ultra compact design, made with three aspherical elements, extra-low dispersion element and super high refractive index element – all these elements help it to make a perfect retractable zoom lens for E-M10 camera – Price $349 available at B&H store.

Olympus E-M1 vs E-M5 - HIGH ISO TEST [JPEG]

Olympus E-M1 first HIGH ISO test surfaced over the web, both the camera out-put set at JPG, NR OFF.

UPDATE: Its a JPG comparison only (not RAW), but based on the image samples we can clearly see the color tones of both the camera are different, the E-M1 preserving bit more details compared to E-M5. But we  Don’t see any significant improvement in E-M1 compared to E-M5 during High ISO test.

Panasonic GX7 Vs Olympus E-M5 High ISO Test

Take a look at the High ISO test between these two flagship M4/3 format camera, Panasonic GX7 is a DSLM street camera that features 16 megapixel Micro Four Thirds Digital Live MOS sensor combined with Venus Engine image processor on the other hand Olympus E-M5 uses a 16.1 megapixel High-Speed Live MOS Sensor.

Take a look at the Image Comparison Below, at ISO 200 the GX7 images look slightly smoother compared to Olympus E-m5, may be due strong Noise reduction filter inside.

At ISO6400 we don’t see any Major difference between these two camera, Olympus E-M5 showing bit more noise compared to GX7.

At 25600 the Olympus E-M5 image showing significant amount of noise compared to GX7, even color reproduction of E-M5 is not good at 25600.
