Canon SX60 HS vs Nikon P600

Canon recently announced SX60 HS camera that features 65X optical zoom, take a look at the specification comparison reviews of both the camera…

Sensor: Both camera features same resolution but the Nikon COOLPIX P600 features ISO range upto 12800 but Canon PowerShot SX60 HS has a ISO range of the ISO range of 6400 only. Due to better ISO range P600 may deliver better images in low light conditions.

Lens: The Canon features 65X optical zoom lens and Nikon comes with 60X zoom lens, so you get 5X more zoom compared to Nikon, The Macro mode of Canon is bit better since the Canon PowerShot SX60 HS features a macro range of 0cm which makes it ideal for getting large size macro images greater details. However the macro range of Nikon COOLPIX P600 is limited to 1cm.

AF Point: Canon PowerShot SX60 HS supports up to 31 AF point, whereas the AF points of Nikon COOLPIX P600 is not specified.

Shutter: Nikon COOLPIX P600 features better shutter range compared to Canon PowerShot SX60 HS and Nikon COOLPIX P600 features fast shooting speed compared to Canon PowerShot SX60 HS.

Canon PowerShot SX60 HS Video Mode: Canon PowerShot SX60 HS features 1080p full HD video recording @ 30fps frame rate in internet friendly MP4 format.

Nikon COOLPIX P600 Video Mode: Nikon COOLPIX P600 features full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution video at 60 frames per second .

Display: Nikon COOLPIX P600 features 3.0″ LCD Swivel (922,000 pixels), whereas Canon PowerShot SX60 HS 3″ 921k-Dot LCD Vari-angle Rear Screen. Where P600’s screen can be tilted to 180’ upwards , there SX60’s screen can be adjusted to many different angles according to the shooting condition.

Dimensions: Nikon COOLPIX P600 is bit smaller than Canon PowerShot SX60 HS.

Weight: Nikon COOLPIX P600 is almost 100gms smaller than Canon PowerShot SX60 HS which makes it easy to carry and work with.

Verdict: With Canon you get more Zoom lens and with Nikon you get more ISO range and bit better video quality, so if you are looking for zoom camera you may prefer Canon SX60 HS.

Canon to Announce a New Big Sensor Compact Camera

Canon Netherlands website is teasing a new big sensor compact camera with fixed zoom lens and attractive design, the core specification is not known yet but there are few possibilities, take a look below

#1 Canon may announce a APS-C sensor compact camera, it is possible the canon may use APS-C sensor with Dual pixel AF technology in a compact body. It will sure kill Nikon coolpix A and X100T sales.

#2 Zoom camera similar to Panasonic FZ1000 and Sony RX10, as we already know that Canon used RX100 M3 sensor inside Canon G7X camera and it is also possible that may announce a Sony RX10 competitor by using the same sensor.

#3 A Full frame Compact camera – Not possible if we look at the compact design above and Canon slow development history.

Sony 46 MP Camera Coming in Q1 of 2015

Almost confirmed that Sony will announce a 46 Megapixel mirrorless camera on Q1 of 2015, the camera will be a E-mount (mirrorless) or A-mount (SLT) still not confirmed. As we have published earlier that Canon is also preparing its Megapixel monster for 2015 announcement see here.

Canon 1DX Mark II Coming on 2015

According to the latest rumors Canon will announce at least two professional DSLR in 2015 featuring multilayer sensor technology, the announcement will start from Q1 of 2015 and 1DX replacement is also expected to arrive in Q3/Q4 of 2015.

My Thoughts
As Canon slowly upgraded its Rebel DSLRs with Dualpixel CMOS AF sensor Canon will sure bring the Dual-pixel and multilayer sensor technology to Full-frame camera. But will Canon 1DX replacement (Canon 1DX Mark II ) will carry a multilayer sensor or a Dual-Pixel CMOS AF sensor ?… or it is even possible that Canon may merge these both technology together to create a Dual-Pixel Multilayer Sensor…

Canon 7D Mark II vs Fujifilm X-T1

Canon 7D Mk II is one of the best DSLR available in the market today where as X-T1 is a class leading mirrorless system with exceptional features, take a look at the detailed specification comparison review

Megapixel: The Canon EOS 7D Mark II is built with more megapixel as compared to Fujifilm X-T1, so the 7D Mark II is capable of producing high-resolution, well-detailed still imagery and HD videos.

Bigger Sensor Size: The BIT large sensor size of Fujifilm X-T1 makes it capable to acquire more light while shooting images, But does the result will show significant difference compared to 7D Mk II is still a question until we see image comparison.

The NO-OLPF benefit – The Fujifilm X-T1 is designed with a randomized pixel pattern to eliminate the need of an optical low-pass filter whereas Canon EOS 7D Mark II includes an optical low-pass filter. Due to the absence of low pass filter Theoretically the images produced by Fujifilm X-T1 will be more clear and will have a better depth of color when compared with the images produced by Canon EOS 7D Mark II at 100%.

More AF Points: Canon EOS 7D Mark II Fast Hybrid AF system utilizes altogether 65 AF points but Fujifilm X-T1 offers just 49 AF points. So, it is clear that Canon EOS 7D Mark II will do fast and accurate focusing than Fujifilm X-T1.

Better Shutter Range: Canon EOS 7D Mark II features a shutter range of 30 – 1/8000 whereas Fujifilm X-T1 features shutter range of 30- 1/400. With a better shutter range Canon EOS 7D Mark II delivers incredibly sharp and crisp images in comparison to Fujifilm X-T1.

Top Continuous shooting speed: Canon EOS 7D Mark II features fast shooting speed of 10fps and Fujifilm X-T1 offers the top continuous speed of 8fps.

Video Mode – Almost same in both with Full HD @ 60fps

Battery Life (CIPA): With Canon EOS 7D Mark II 800 shots can be taken in one battery cycle and on the other hand Fujifilm X-T1 battery rating is 350 shots. (According to CIPA).

Dimensions: Fujifilm X-T1 is smaller Canon EOS 7D Mark II so it is more handy to use.

Weight: Fujifilm X-T1 is almost half in weight as compared to Canon EOS 7D Mark II.

High ISO TEST

Image analysis – We are not able to notice any major difference in the image quality of both the camera. But yes Canon is showing bit better images with less noise.
