Tamron 20-40mm F2.8 VXD Lens Development Announcement Press Release

Tamron 20-40mm F2.8 VXD Lens – a super versatile lens coming soon. Take a look at the details of the development announcement.

Tamron 20-40mm F2.8 VXD Lens Press Release

New large-aperture standard zoom lens proposed by Tamron – Smallest and lightest *1) design for comfortable video shooting 20-40mm F/2.8 Di III VXD (Model A062)

20-40mm F/2.8 Di III VXD (Model A062) Overview

The Model A062 is Tamron’s new large-aperture standard zoom lens for Sony E-mount cameras compatible with full-size mirrorless interchangeable-lens cameras. Starting with an ultra-wide angle of 20mm and covering up to the standard range of 40mm, it is the smallest and lightest in its class*1. Beautiful images are achieved throughout the entire zoom range, and it is useful not only for still image shooting but also for video shooting such as Vlog. The AF drive employs a silent and agile linear motor focus mechanism VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) to achieve high-speed, high-precision AF. Furthermore, with a minimum focusing distance of 0.17m at the wide-angle end and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.8, close-up capabilities are excellent, enabling wide-angle macro-like shooting.
The Model A062 is a new, large-aperture standard zoom lens that allows you to easily bring it out and enjoy shooting both still images and movies.

Main features
1. Smallest and lightest in its class F2.8 through large aperture standard zoom lens covering 20-40mm
The Model A062 is Tamron’s new large-aperture standard zoom lens that pursues a compact size that makes it easy to carry around. While achieving a large aperture of F2.8 over the entire zoom range from 20mm to 40mm, it is 86.5mm long and weighs 365g, making it the smallest and lightest lens in its class.
The telephoto end covers up to a standard range of 40mm, which is convenient for everyday use, such as snapshots, portraits, and table photos. On the other hand, by setting the wide-angle end to 20mm, you can enjoy a wide range of shooting, such as spectacular and powerful natural scenery that makes the most of perspective, which cannot be achieved with conventional large-aperture standard zoom lenses starting at 24mm.

2. Comfortable video shooting such as Vlog and selfie
The lightweight and compact Model A062 is well-balanced and easy to handle even when attached to a camera grip or gimbal, which is convenient for video shooting. With this single lens, you can shoot everything from shooting in the city to vast landscapes at your destination and selfies with a wide background.

3. Combining high image quality with a compact body
4. Equipped with VXD for high-speed, high-precision AF
5. Wide macro photography with a minimum focusing distance of 0.17m and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.8 at the wide-angle end
6. A zoom rotation angle of 65° enables smooth shooting that does not stop the flow
7. The focus ring can be customized and the firmware can be updated using the proprietary TAMRON Lens Utility™ software.
8. New lens design improves operability and scratch resistance
9. Uses a filter diameter of φ67mm, which is common to many of our mirrorless lens series
10. Pursuing high convenience with a simple drip-proof structure and antifouling coating
11. Compatible with various camera functions such as “Fast Hybrid AF” and “Eye AF” installed in Sony cameras

Nikon Z30 Overheating at 4K Video recording ?

Nikon Z30 – Some User Overheating issues questions below

Z30 overheats and shuts down in about 30 minutes, not 125 minutes when shooting 4K or HD/120. I just got shut down at 33 minutes shooting 4K/30 in an air-conditioned studio with my brand-new Z30.
Page 593 of the manual actually confirms this: High Quality (video) “Approx. 28 min”.
Really bummed out by this! Longer running time is one of the reasons I bought the camera.

Not able to record more than 32 min 4K videos in my air-conditioned room, pls help

Nikon Z30 4k video stops at 30 Min, why?

Does Nikon Z30 Really Overheats, here is the answer

Canon Upcoming Cameras to Feature Smart Display Unit to Save Power

According to a recent Canon Patent, we spotted, Canon’s upcoming Mirrorless cameras will use a smart display unit to save power consumption and to make the Mirrorless camera battery life a bit better.

Smart Display Units Working Principal as described in the patent

To sufficiently reduce power consumption while a user checks an image to be photographed.SOLUTION: When a user refers to additional information displayed on a display unit, an imaging apparatus considers that the user does not have an intention to perform photographing, and reduces the frame rate and resolution of an image displayed on a digital camera. Even during the pan operation of the digital camera, when the user’s line of sight does not track a subject to be tracked, the imaging apparatus considers that the user does not have an intention to perform photographing, and reduces the frame rate and resolution of an image displayed on the digital camera.

Canon R100 More Confirmation

We are getting more confirmation on arrival Canon R100 camera.  According to the latest press reports coming out from Japan, The Canon R10 is not a Canon Kiss Series Camera, just like we have the Canon xxD series in DSLRs (60D, 70D, 80D, and 90D) all have the same name worldwide, in the same fashion R10 (Rxx) will have the same name, no change.

Models below Canon xxD Series renamed as Kiss camera in Japan,  as you can see in the table below

1. Canon Entry Level Camera Names Worldwide

EOS 1300D/Rebel T6/Kiss X80 (discontinued)
EOS 1500D/EOS 2000D/Rebel T7/Kiss X90
EOS 100D/Rebel SL1/Kiss X7 (discontinued)
EOS 200D/Rebel SL2/Kiss X9
EOS 250D/Rebel SL3/Kiss X10
EOS 750D/Rebel T6i/Kiss X8i
EOS 760D/Rebel T6s/8000D
EOS 800D/Rebel T7i/Kiss X9i
EOS 850D/Rebel T8i/Kiss X10i
Canon EOS M50 Mark II / Kiss M2

2. Canon R100 Coming

So, we will soon have a new range of Canon EOS R Kiss series Mirrorless range in near future, which will include the Canon R100 camera too. We are the first website to broke news about the Canon R100 camera, you can see more details about Canon R100 here and here

According to Japanese tech mag itmedia.co.jp

The appearance and the impression when gripping were also close to “EOS Kiss X90”. They may have the same mount diameter.

Since the EOS Kiss M series equipped with an APS-C size sensor is alive as an active model, it was difficult to attach “Kiss” here, or “Kiss” is a product name only in Japan (not used overseas) For some reason, I don’t know if it’s a policy not to use it in the future, or if Kiss R will appear at some point, but when I asked the person in charge at the product launch, it’s a bit serious to name it Kiss.

Indeed, it is solid in terms of performance and feels like a higher level than Kiss. On the Canon website, it is positioned as a middle class rather than an entry.

Stay with us we will post more updates soon

Canon R7 vs Canon 90D - More High ISO Test

Which is the best for you, ok this is not a very long specs-to-specs comparison between the two,  we already know that Canon R7 excels in the Video part since its able to oversample 7K video in 4k 30fps and with the help of pixel binning and line skipping algorithm you are able to capture videos up to 4K 60fps without any crop.

And this is not the first time we have compared the two, even a week ago I published a High ISO test between Canon R7 and Canon 90D.

Canon R7 samples are now available now

We have compared the first two images at base ISO. Even in the sample file above, you may be about to notice that the Canon R7 camera is able to capture more details compared to Canon 90D camera.

Things become more clear when you test Canon R7 and Canon 90D at ISO 12800. As you can clearly see that Canon R7 is preserving more details at a higher ISO range. So, as the Canon rep. said both Canon R10 and Canon R7 sensors have arrived with updated sensor microlenses was true, and now we can clearly see the difference between them.
