Well, the latest Canon EOS Rs camera specification surfaced today and literally I am not able to believe what I saw today. So, without losing any time let’s jump on the specification.
Canon EOS RS Rumored Specification
- 45mp (One source said 40mp)
- IBIS
- 5 stops with IBIS alone
- 7-8 stops of correction when used with in-lens stabilization
- 14fps / 20fps (One source said 12fps / 20fps)
- Scroll wheel added to the back
- No touchbar
- Liveview/Movie toggle like previous EOS DSLRs
- Larger capacity battery, but looks like the LP-E6
- 8K @ 30fps RAW
- 4K @ 120fps
- 4K @ 60fps
- The info I was given about a crop was confusing
- Announcement ahead of CP+ next month
After looking at the core specs, I am not able to believe that we will have a Canon camera next month that will do 8K at 30FPS and 4K at 60FPS. That’s really strange.
Canon 8K Mirrorless is in Canon RoadMap… but
Yoshiyuki Mizoguchi, Group Executive, ICB Products Group, Image Communication Business Operations at Canon Inc. Mizoguchi-san is the top product-planning executive within Canon, Inc. responsible for planning their camera offerings.
Yoshiyuki revealed that it will be a major focus in an interview at Imagine Resource website
“Video will play a huge role in the EOS R System for sure,” the executive tells Imaging Resource. “For example, an 8K video capable camera is already in our EOS R-series roadmap.
….It’s Too Early to Predict 8K in Canon EOS Rs
Yes, its too early to predict 8K video mode in Canon EOS Rs Mirrorless cameras. Canon do have 8K Mirrorless camera in their roadmap but it’s too early to expect 8K capable camera from Canon in 2020. We are waiting to get correct set of information from trusted sources.

Canon EOS Rs new set of specs surfaced over the web, according to the recently leaked specs the Canon next professional EOS R camera may arrive with a 75MP Sensor. Take a look at the rumored specs below
Canon EOS Rs Specifications:
- 75mp full-frame CMOS
- Sensor “focused on the dynamic range”
- Frames per second “… Sounded similar to the EOS R”
- DIGIC 9
- Dual Card Slots
- Joystick the same as the EOS-1D X Mark III
- Larger and higher resolution EVF than the EOS R
- Fully articulating LCD screen
- Fully weather-sealed
- Similar ergonomics as the EOS R (No touch bar)

Canon 75MP Camera sensor isn’t new, we are getting Canon 75 MP FF Camera rumors from 2013, And we are still waiting for that. We have to keep in mind that these specs are coming from anonymous sources [low-credible]. So, as we usually say take it with grain of salt.

According to latest rumors surfaced over the web Canon EOS RS may carry 65MP CMOS Sensor. Based on the initial set of hints One of Canon Camera working prototypes spotted with 65MP FF CMOS Sensor. So, there is possibility that we may see Canon EOS RS camera with Canon made 65MP Sensor.
Canon EOS Rs with 65 MP or 80MP Senor ?
As we all know few weeks ago rumor mills reported that Canon is working on a new high resolution 80MP sensor.
We do believe since Canon EOS Rs is a pro-grade mirrorless camera so there will be multiple MP variants for the same, Rumor is coming from anonymous sources so take it with grain of salt.

TNC Exclusive: As we all know Canon is continuously working on too improve the Eye AF tracking of their FF and APS-C sensor based camera. Now only for new cameras, in an recent firmware update they have upscaled the AF performance of the already announced Canon EOS R and Canon EOS RP camera.
We have confirmation that Canon is also working on animal Face tracking and Eye AF. We already have the patents related to that and we will soon update this post with more details.

According to latest rumors we have, Canon EOS RS (expected name) camera with a 80MP Canon made sensor may arrive on first half of 2020. Not only sensor information, rumor mills also published the possible specification of the camera
1. Canon EOS RS Possible Specification
- A slightly larger body and grip than the EOS R
- 80mp full-frame image sensor
- A “new style” of joystick
- Larger LCD than the EOS R
- Larger viewfinder than the EOS R
- The “viewfinder” can be tilted up and Dual SD card slots
- No video specifications are known
So, the above information look feasible to me. As we all know that Canon 5DS/ 5DSR series Discontinued and Canon is working on High resolution mirrorless cameras. And most probably is Canon move on same schedule then the name of the upcoming camera is expected to be Canon EOS Rs Camera.
2. Canon 80MP Sensor information surfaced from patent
Just few days back Rumormills spotted a patent in which we can clearly see that Canon is working on 83 MP sensor. More details below
A large number of pixels of 4 columns × 4 rows (8 columns × 8 rows of focus detection pixels) shown in FIG . 2 are arranged on the surface to enable acquisition of a captured image (focus detection signal). In the first embodiment, the period P is 4 [mu] m, the number of pixels N in the lateral 5575 columns × vertical 3725 lines of pixels = about 20.75 million pixels, the column period P of the focus detection pixels AF is 2 [mu] m, the focus detection pixel number N AF lateral The description will be made assuming that the imaging device has 11150 columns × vertical 7450 rows = approximately 83.06 million pixels.

We have got hints back on 2013 that Canon is working on High resolution camera prototypes with 75MP sensor. Now, after 5 years of gap the 75MP Canon camera bumped again. We are again getting hints about Canon 75MP sensor coming inside Canon EOS RS Mirrorless Camera, take a look at the details below
Canon 75MP Camera Sensor Rumor Specification
- 75MP dual pixel CMOS full-size sensor
- a special ultra-high-resolution mode of up to 400MP by the sensor shift
- but camera shake correction in the body is first installed, not excellent so –

- Continuous shooting slows up to 5-6 frames /

The rumor is coming from a new source to take with a grain of salt.
Of-course sensor technology moved to a new dimension in last 5 years, from CMOS to BSI-CMOS and now Stacked CMOS with Dram chip and Sony will be introducing new range of AI sensor in near future.
Canon is still using CMOS sensor on their DSLR and Mirrorless that’s why despite of having world best AF system, Canon camera are lagging behind the competition when we talk about dynamic range and low-light performance. They should adopt new sensor technology before moving to a higher resolution sensor.

According to latest rumors coming from Rumor mills. Canon will announce two new Mirrorless camera in the near future, Canon EOS RS and Canon EOS RX.
1. Canon EOS RS
Rumors coming out from reputed rumor mills. Canon EOS RS camera with the high resolution 60MP sensor is coming to directly replace the Canon 5DS and 5DS R camera. The camera may arrive in the first-half of 2020.
2. Canon EOS RX
The next rumored camera is Canon EOS RX, the Canon EOS RX camera will arrive as Canon flagship Mirrorless mode. The development announcement is expected to be done on the mid of 2020. No details about the specification known yet.
