The sensor is new, the camera is using a step-above version of the Canon DPAF system based sensor used inside the Canon 800D / T8i camera.
Advantages of New Sensor
Eye AF: WIth the help of the new sensor, the camera can now track eyes very effectively without any issues.
More Better Tracking: With the implementation of the new sensor the AF tracking of the camera is also improved compared to it’s the processor.
NOTE: The sensor of the camera is the same as we have seen in the Canon 200D II / SL3. Since it also carries the same 3rd gen DPAF 234MP sensor as the Canon 850D / T8i.
So, you will be getting a better sensor than the Canon 850D but, the sensor performance will remain similar to the Canon entry-level HYBRID Camera.

The sensor low-light performance, dynamic range is almost the same. Nothing new inside. The only thing we will notice is enhanced AF performance of the camera compared to its predecessor.
Electronic shutter in Canon 850D / T8i Camera
The Canon 850D camera uses an electronic shutter to reach its maximum continuous shooting speed limit of 7.5 FPS (in live view mode). With Mechanical shutter of the camera limited to 7FPS shooting. So, we are getting 1.5FPS faster-shooting speed compared to Canon 800D cameras.

Canon 850D vs Canon 800D which one has better Video Recording mode?
The Canon 850D camera does have a 4K video recording option, But, we have to face the same limitations we have faced in the Canon EOS M550, 200D II or Canon EOS M200. Canon 850D camera suffers from cropping issues in 4K video recording mode at the same time the DPAF system goes off during the 4K video recording mode resulting in a very slow AF performance of the camera while recording 4K video. So, the 4K video mode of the Canon 850D camera is not so usable. It’s better to record videos in Full HD VIdeo mode only.
Canon 850D 4K Crop Factor
With a Canon 850D camera we have to face 1.7X Crop factor. At the same time in 4K video mode, we are limited to contrast-based AF systems. So, the Auto Focus of the camera becomes excessively slow as well as always hunts for focus.

Verdict:
The Canon 850D / T8i camera does arrive with a lot of improvements. But, Video mode of the camera remains the same as we have in Canon 200D II or SL3 camera.
If you are a still shooter / Photographer then you should go with the Canon 850D / T8i camera. Since with the Canon 850D / T8i camera you are getting an improved 3rd generation DPAF and a 45 Point Phase AF module. Canon 850D also offers Continuous shooting speed up to 7.5 FPS.
If you are a Youtuber / Videographer then you should know that the Video mode of the Canon 850D is exactly similar to the Canon 200D II camera. So, it’s better to invest in Lenses instead of investing in a camera body when you are getting the same video mode, sensor and image processor in Canon 200D II.

Upcoming Camera list from Tonynorthup, They have done goof prediction of upcoming Major cameras. Have a look and do share your thoughts with us.
1. Olympus Upcoming Camera 2020
The entry model Olympus E-M10 Mark IV comes at $ 500 or less. In general, Olympus updates its entry-level camera every two to three years, so Olympus E-M10 Mark IV may arrive this year. Olympus does not tend to implement new features inside entry-level models, so there is nothing new and I think it will be a cute and fun camera to use.
2. Upcoming Panasonic Camera 2020
Panasonic GH6 specs are expected to be 16: 9 6K30fps, 4K60fps without a crop, RAW video, 4: 2: 2 10bit. S1H 6K video will be adopted in a smaller package. The price is expected to be around $ 2,500. The G10 (successor to the G9) inherits 6K video from the GH6, but the advanced video functions are omitted and the specifications are closer to single-lens reflex (still).
3. Upcoming Fuji Camera 2020
Fujifilm X-H2 rumors are silent now, they think the X-H series will end.
4. Upcoming Nikon Camera 2020
I think Nikon will introduce an entry-sized Z5. The price will be around $ 1,500. The camera will feature a 24MP sensor, continuous shooting at 5 fps, 4K30fps, no IBIS, 1 SD card slot, low-end EVF. A camera that competes with the EOS RP.
I don’t think the D500 successor will appear in 2020. The D500 is not as interesting as the D750 and D850.
5. Upcoming Canon Camera 2020
Maybe Canon will issue 5D Mark V, an EF + RF compatible mounter (Hybrid mount ?), to encourage existing EF mount users to switch to RF mounts. The 5D V has a 4K video with all pixels readout and a hybrid finder. The price is expected to be around $ 3,500.
Canon will introduce a professional-grade studio camera EOS RS with a 75MP sensor. Continuous shooting is 6 frames / sec., CFastx1 SDx1, no camera shake correction in the body, and 4K crop.
6. Upcoming Sony Camera 2020
Sony is evolving at a slower pace, and the α7 IV, like the α9 II, is expected to be a slightly improved model with slightly improved AF and dust and drip proofing. Two UHS-II compatible slots, priced at $ 2000.
The α7S III is a video-oriented camera with improved dust-proof and drip-proof, equipped with 4K60fps 4: 2: 2 10bit video mode. Equipped with two UHS-II compatible slots, no flip-up flip monitor is adopted. AF is greatly improved and real-time pupil tracking is adopted. The number of pixels remains at 12MP. The price is $ 4000.
