Astrhori Rockstar is now prepared to announce the 85mm f/1.8 AF lens for Nikon Z mount. This is not the first time we are getting this news. Back in November 2022, we received initial information that the AstrHori 85mm f/1.8 lens for Nikon Z mount and E-mount is coming.
So finally, we have the development announcement of the new AstrHori 85mm f/1.8 lens today. Take a look at the initial set of specs of the upcoming lens.
Astrhori RockStar 85mm F1.8 AF Lens for Z Mount
The AF 85mm F1.8 Sony E-mount full-frame automatic lens was announced in December 2022.
It adopts an optical structure of 9 elements in 8 groups,
with a minimum focusing distance of 0.79m,
an STM stepping motor,
and supports Sony mirrorless camera eye recognition.
It is made of all metal and weighs about 620g.

OLD TAMRON LENS – Tamron AF016C-700 SP AF 17-50mm F/2.8 Di II LD Aspherical (IF) Zoom Lens with Hood for Canon DSLR Camera
According to the latest set of rumors coming from a Twitter account howtofly, Tamron will soon announce a 17-50mm F4 lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras. The lens is lighter than Tamron’s 28-75mm f2.8 and is also affordable as it doesn’t feature optical image stabilization. Although at this shorter focal length, VC / optical image stabilization isn’t that much required. Btw, we already have Sony 20-70 F4G, certainly, we would love to see the comparison in between the two soon.
Viltrox announced 3 new lenses for the DL mount and the DJI mount. These three new lenses are 24/35/50 mm while having MAX aperture of f1.8.We will soon update this post with their price a specification and arrival time
About DL Mount: The DL mount is independently developed by DJI and was first used on the Zenmuse X7 gimbal released in October 2017. Later, it was used on the DJI Ronin 4D movie camera, DJI Inspire 3 full-frame gimbal camera Zenmuse X9, and it is used on 8K Air.
So, this is just the beginning, and in the near future, we will see more lenses from Viltrox as well as other third-party lens makers too.
Nikon issued the latest firmware update for the Nikon Z8 camera.
The changes made in the new firmware update
Changed the timing of the high-temperature warnings appearing when the camera’s internal temperature increases mainly during video recording.
Changed the position where the memory card high-temperature warning is displayed in video mode.
Fixed the following issues:
– The battery would draw down more quickly while the camera was off if [ON] was selected for [Connect to smart device] > [Wi-Fi connection] in the [NETWORK MENU] even if [OFF] was selected for both [Bluetooth connection] and [Upload while off].
– Focus could still be adjusted using the focus ring when [Disable] was selected for a15 [Manual focus ring in AF mode] in the [CUSTOM SETTINGS MENU] if an option other than [Non-linear] was chosen for f9 [Focus ring rotation range] in the [CUSTOM SETTINGS MENU].
– SB-800 flash units would sometimes stop responding after pictures were taken with the flash disabled.
