Update – The patent is is not of Panasonic APS-C Lens
According to our user Mistral75
After his research work he has found that the patent is of Leica Elmarit-TL 18mm f/2.8 Asph Lens and not of Panasonic.
This is the patent of the optical formula of the Leica Elmarit-TL 18mm f/2.8 Asph, just compare example 2 and 3 from the patent (which are 18mm f/2.8s, only example 1 is an 18mm f/4):

One of our readers reported that Olympus may be working on high resolution M4/3 sensor for their upcoming flagship camera. The information we have received in our email look logical to us that why we have decided to publish.
As we all know the M4/3 sensor do have a physical limit (2X smaller than FF) and that’s why it is not easily possible to stretch the Megapixels like APS-C or FF Sensors. If they increase the sensor resoltuion they will sure loose the DR and High-ISO performance of the camera.
High Resolution mode already present – As we all know Olympus E-M1X have built-in sensor shift High-Res mode, 50MP JPEG image or 80MP raw image by combining eight sequentially recorded frames into a single, larger image. Olympus upcoming flasghip camera will have hand-held High res mode which will work in longer exposures also.
So, if they already have class leading high-res mode capture option in their camera, why their R&D team want to loose DR and High-ISO performance while adding more MP to M4/3 sensor ?

According to latest report coming from CIPA, the camera sales is even going more down compared to previous two year. We do hope that the situation should improve soon, otherwise in next 5 years most of the camera makers will face a serious backlash by consumers.

We have published patents before about Nikon Hybrid Sensor for DSLRs. But, from the latest patents, its look like Nikon have created their own version of Dual Pixel CMOS AF System.
Nikon dedicated AF pixel ROW inside a DSLR sensor, most importantly if they are using the same mechanism as of DPAF . Then of-course we will have sensor without Dead Hybrid AF pixels.
from patent document: example, as shown in FIG. 10, the imaging device 22, an imaging device 221 for imaging, the focus detection pixels 222a for phase difference detection, and a 222b, the focus detection pixels 222a
Patent –
Nikon Sub-Pixel AF structure
Not only that, You can clearly see Nikon DSLR display with AF segments or you can say AF groups just like we have in Canon’s. But the sub pixel arrangement is entirely different from Canon, here every pixel isn’t divided into two sub pixels. Instead of that Nikon is using two pixels for AF work each on having a sub-pixel unit.
In every pixel you can see two sub-pixel division, looks similar to dual pixel CMOS AF tech were every two sub pixels are involved in AF.
Nikon Display with dedicated AF Zones
Nikon DSLR camera Display screen will be distributed in AF Zones. Once you click the display unit AF section the AF area will be automatically zoomed [optional feature].
For sure these new sensors tech will be implemented soon in upcoming Nikon DSLRs. Camera.
