Many rumor mills were expecting the arrival of the Sony A7S III camera during NAB 2018 show. But, as I always say… before the arrival of any camera we generally get some strong hints prior to it’s announcement. But, this time everything was completely dry and even trusted Japanese sources were completely silent.
One of the most interesting thing is Sony doesn’t have any new camera registered in the wireless certification agency. That also clearly indicates we will not going to see any new Mirrorless OR pro compact camera from Sony at least for next 2 to 3 months.

The details of the camera is not released yet from any reputed sources, but if you’re going to look at the screenshot you can clearly notice that atomos external display is compatible with the Sony FS 5 Mark II camcorder. That clearly indicates Sony FS 5 Mark II camera was listed on the compatibility list of atomos product page, but now it has been removed and edited, thanks to paul antico first for spotting this.

According to the latest rumors coming from reputed rumor mill, the upcoming Sony A7S III camera will going to have a completely brand new sensor integrated with integral memory.
Sony A7S was first introduced bak on Sep 2014 and just after a year gap Sony introduced the Sony A7S II camera by having the same 12MP sensor, one stop more ISO range, built-in IS and more dense AF points (from 25 to 165). Now, After 2+ years of long gap we are expecting Sony A7S III camera with improved core specification.
The sources suggest that upcoming camera will going to have a stacked CMOS sensor. As I can remember, we have seen Sony first Fullframe stacked CMOS sensor in the Sony A9 camera and is they are able to implement it , it will be a great upgrade from the existing Sony A7S II.
According to the sources the upcoming Sony A7 S3 camera features a brand new stacked CMOS sensor with built in memory and high sensitivity with improved autofocusing.

Sony A7 III dynamic range comparison, test published by Photons to Photos. Now, in the real world situation we can clearly see that Sony A7 III dynamic range is near about 12 stops. However, Sony claims that Sony A7 III (Amazon.com | B&H Store) camera features dynamic range upto 15 stops.
1. Sony A7 III vs. Sony A7 III vs. Sony A9
Sony A7 III vs Sony A7R III vs Sony A9. Sony A7III dynamic range is amazing and near about 12 stops same as of Sony A7R III. And, on the same side the ISO Sony A7 III is offering more ISO range at the end. Making it a even better than of A7R III. When comparing it to Sony A9 we have a very clear advantage of Dynamic range.
So, If you want excellent dynamic range as well as advance AF system. You, must get the Sony A7 III.
2. Sony A7 III vs 5D Mark IV vs 6D Mark II
As we can see Sony A7 III is offering widest dynamic range as well as more ISO range compared to the Canon 5D Mark IV as well as Canon 6D Mark II.
Canon cameras do carry Dual Pixel CMOS AF sensor, that in general features even more fast AF lock speed compared to Hybrid AF sensor based camera. But, one of the biggest disadvantage of Canon sensors are it’s limited dynamic range. So, Canon should fix this issue asap to compete against the A7 and A9 series.
3. Nikon D850 vs Sony A7 III vs Nikon D750
Nikon D850 dynamic range is better than Sony A7 III. But, Nikon D750 DR is bit weak compared to the A7 III. At the end Sony A7 III is offering more ISO range and Hybrid AF compared to Nikon D850 and Nikon D750.
Sony A7 III is one of the best Fullframe camera for sure under $2k range.
TNC Exclusive – Hot pixel, Stuck pixel Dead Pixel Fix. Well after doing a bit research with Sony A7 and A9 series cameras I have found that they have a hidden feature inside of pixel re-mapping. You won’t gonna find this method in user manuals but it does work in most of the cases.
Before we begin first let me introduce you what Pixel mapping actually is.
1.What us pixel Mapping ?
A sensor is made up of many photodiodes, sometimes they fail resulting hot, dead pixels. Pixel Mapping is a in-camera preventive maintenance utility that locate and remap defective / non-functioning photodiodes from use.
A software is applied to take over the function of affected photodiodes function using surrounding working ones. No repair is performed & the process completes under a minute.
2.Pixel Mapping is hidden inside Sony A7 series, Sony A9 and Sony A6xxx series cameras
Well I do remember approx 10 years ago, I have used pixel Mapping in Sony DSLR A350, they do have a dedicated menu option of Pixel remapping which is visible in Live view mode. But in recent generation of Sony cameras this specific feature is kept hidden.
Yes, we don’t know the exact reason why Pixel mapping feature is hidden inside Sony consumer level camera. But, yes it do exist and you can use it also remove your dead, stuck and hot pixels.
3.Hot pixel, Stuck pixel Dead Pixel Fix – By Pixel Mapping Method
Use this method is you have a Hot pixel, Stuck pixel Dead Pixel inside your Sony A7III, Sony A7R III, Sony A7S II, Sony A9 and model above Sony A6300 camera.
Start your Sony FF or APS-C sensor based mirrorless camera
Open the date setting menu of the camera and select a future date (for example change the year from 2018 to 2019 OR 2020) and once the date is set restart the camera. Once you switch off the camera after few sec you will hear the shutter button and the task is now completed and problems are gone.
Open the camera menu setting once again and then restore the date time setting back to normal.

Sensor Solution by Pixel Re-Mapping Method
Ok, the method we are discussing here is pixel Remapping method. It’s really look wired and useless but it does work in most of the cases. So, either you are having a hot pixel or blinking pixel issue with Sony A7III or A7R III or any A9 camera, this method will word effectively.
