The Panasonic Rumored large sensor compact camera finally announced and its features M4/3 size sensor, we are comparing the ultra popular RX100 M3 camera with the LX100, take a look who wins…
 Sensor
The Panasonic LX100 features large multi-aspect 4/3″ type MOS sensor that produce images of 12.8MP still and records 4K Ultra HD video at 30 and 24 fps on the other hand Sony features a 20.1 MP megapixel 1″ Exmor R CMOS sensor that features backside-illuminated technology to produce better low-light images.
 However having a large sensor and big photodiode Panasonic will produce better low-light images with more dynamic range.
Lens
Due to the introduction of high quality 24-75mm Leica DC Vario-Summilux f/1.7-2.8 Lens the Panasonic features more bit more optical zoom (3.1 vs 2.9) by having the same aperture range as of Sony RX100 M3, The Macro mode available in LX100 is also better, the LX100 allows you to get more closer to your subject (3cm vs 5cm), plus the lens will create more DOF due to large sensor size of LX100.
Hybrid Shutter
The Panasonic LX100 uses Electronic and Mechanical shutter both, the mechanical shutter provides you shutter speed of 60 – 1/4000 second and electronic shutter capable of shooting 1 – 1/16000 second …
4K Video
The LX100 also supports 4K 3840 x 2160 video recording at 30 or 24 fps in MP4 format (No AVCHD), the 4K video can be recorded for up to 15 minutes, and requires an SD card rated at UHS-I Speed Class 3, you can record Full HD videos @ 60fps in MP4 and AVCHD formats.

Panasonic showed the expected sales volume of mirrorless camera in 2016 during a presentation event at Tokyo (image via: DC.watch), the sales volume mirrorless systems is against the total number of DSLRs sales in 2016, more or less but the fact looks true to me since the mirrorless market is slowly and steadily eating-up the DSLR market from 2012.

I was looking at the list of new products announced by Panasonic in Japan today, everything was same except one the Panasonic GM1 S, however after looking at the core specification the camera look similar to GM5 camera..but I am not able to fine viewfinder in it..take a look at the translated press release below (inlcuding the major features of the new GM1 S camera)

 Full Specification of the upcoming pro compact camera from Panasonic Leaked today, The Panasonic Lx100 is rumored to feature M4/3 format based sensor with 16 million pixel resolution with an ISO range: 200-25600. In the rear side of the camera it has 3″ LCD screen. Connectivity wise it has Wi-Fi and NFC.

- Design similar to the Panasonic LC1 (see picture above)
- 4.3″ 16 million pixel sensor (multi-aspect angle without loss)

 We are almost confirmed that Panasonic LX100 will sure feature a M4/3 format based large sensor and and ISO range upto 25600, take a look at the detailed specification below
- 10.9–34mm f/1.7–2.8 ASPH lens (24-75mm equivalent)
- 4/3 sensor
- 2.8MP EVF
- 3″ LCD screen
- Built-in Wi-Fi, NFC
- Max ISO: 25,600
- 4k video
The lens quality is also good and features F1.7 aperture at wide-end and F2.8 aperture at tele-end, you get very high resolution EVF with 2.8 megapixel screen resolution and a option to record 4K videos.
The LX100 is said be the successor of LX7 camera and but also keep in mind that no LX8 is coming in future, Panasonic tweaked the camera name (LX8 to LX100) with change in sensor size.

 Panasonic will soon announce the Panasonic GM5 (Panasonic GM1 successor) and the long rumored LX100 – fixed Lens based MFT compact camera on Sep 15, 2014. There are no details about the specification available yet, but rumors suggest that the upcoming MFT compact camera form Panasonic will record 4K videos.
Panasonic will also introduce new lenses very soon, the list includes 35-100mm lens, 150mm f/2.8 lens and may be more….we will update you soon as we get any new information.

Update – The upcoming camera name is LX100 and not LX1000
Finally we got the name and rendered image image of the upcoming Panasonic M4/3 Compact camera – LX1000, the camera is rumored to feature 4K video recording, Earlier this morning have published some of the major specification of upcoming M4/3 camera (see here) “We have been told that the Panasonic compact M4/3 camera will arrive in ultra-compact body design, the camera will have a M4/3 sensor inside, Fixed compact zoom lens, fixed LCD display screen and no EVF.”
However we are still not 100% confirmed about the specification or physical design of the upcoming camera, but we will update you soon as we got any new information.
