Nikon japan tagged Nikon D3500 and Nikon D5600 as old models on their website. As per the latest reports coming from TechRadar Nikon said
“Nikon Imaging Japan has decided to archive some digital SLR camera models based on market trends. In Japan, the D5600 and D3500 are archived products. The products will continue to be sold in countries and regions other than Japan.”
Later on, they have also added
“We plan to continue selling these products for the time being. For areas other than Japan, we will consider the optimal timing for discontinuation based on the needs of the market and customers.”
Techradar said
The first is that the decision to archive both cameras in Japan is based on “market trends”. In other words, it’s highly unlikely that we’ll see replacement beginner DSLRs arrive to fill the gap left by the Nikon D3500 and Nikon D5600.
The supply chain of Nikon D3500 and Nikon D5600 cameras will remain to continue as per market demand in some specific countries. However, they have archived both the camera and it looks like further development is also halted. Now, as per rumors, we may see mirrorless replacements of both the camera soon, Nikon Z30 is in the announcement pipeline and we may see it in the next few months.

Sony A7C Sensor score surfaced over the web. The overall score of the camera is 95 which is really impressive. However, despite having the same sensor as of Sony A7 III camera, Sony A7C scored low marks in low-light tests compared to A7 III.

Verdict from DXOmark
Featuring a rangefinder-style body, the Sony A7C is an intriguing step between the Sony A6xxx series and the DSLR-style A7xxx models. While targeting the hybrid stills and video market, the design means it’s likely to find favor with vloggers and others looking for a highly compact and portable full-frame camera, and it’s an attractive alternative to the larger A7 III and A9 models. At launch, the price is advantageous as well.
The BSI-CMOS in the Sony A7C performs well altogether. The results are practically identical to the sensors in the Sony A7 III and A9 II, and it produces a nice balance between maximum dynamic range at low ISOs and maintaining a usefully wide dynamic range at higher ISO settings. And the same can be said for color depth. All combined, the Sony A7C is an attractive option for landscape, travel, wedding, and portrait photographers, while the rangefinder-style body should also appeal to the traditional street photographer

Nikon closed its Japanese Camera production plant to reduce overall manufacturing cost, Now only the Thai production plant is active. As we reported earlier also Nikon is dealing with big financial loss this year. Now as per the report coming from AERAdot (Japanese news mag) Nikon is bout the end of Nikon’s domestic camera production which was running for more than 70 years.
Nikon Closed Sendai (Japan) Production Unit
Few important parts of the news (Translated from Japanese)
- At last, Nikon will end the domestic production of camera bodies that has continued for more than 70 years. Until now, body manufacturing has been carried out at “Sendai Nikon” in Miyagi Prefecture and “Nikon Thailand (NTC)” in Thailand, but in order to reduce costs, it will be concentrated at the Thai factory.
- Production of the mirrorless cameras Z 7 and Z 6 was completed at the end of September, and preparations for the transfer of production to Thailand began in October. Production of the D6 digital SLR will also be transferred to Thailand by the end of 2021.
- Founded in 1971, Sendai Nikon is located in Natori City, which borders the south of Sendai City. Production of single-lens reflex cameras began with EM (released in 1979), nicknamed “Little Nikon,” and gradually shifted to production of high-end models. It has also played a role as a “mother factory” that provides technical guidance to overseas production factories.
- Sendai Nikon will continue to play an important role in camera production

In a recent interview with an amateur photographer, Nikon Rep confirmed that they are working on DX-format line-up and more lenses are on the way. Take a look at the Major points of the interview
- Nikon on 2020 and COVID-19: “As an initial reaction to COVID-19, we saw a halt in customer purchasing. Consumer demand began to drop throughout the world. When consumer demand fluctuates so much, any manufacturer will be faced with challenges relating to the supply chain. Although we are not totally back to normal levels, we have thankfully seen a healthy recovery, much better than what we had originally anticipated. Global demand is returning strongly.“
- The new Nikon D780, Z6 II, and Z7 II cameras have been well-received by the market with “steady” sales.
- More DX-format lenses for Z-mount are on the way.
- Nikon expects the production of some DSLR cameras and F-mount lenses to be impacted by the fire at AKM Semiconductor in Japan.
- The remaining questions were answered with the standard for Nikon “While we cannot comment on future products, we are constantly evaluating the needs of the market in order to respond accordingly“.
