Nikon D5500 vs Canon 750D

Nikon-D5500-vs-750D-imageNikon D5500 and Canon 750D, both are mid entry level models and both of them loaded with latest technology,
Nikon-D5500-vs-Canon-750D-iThe Sensor – image resolution and ISO range is approx same, so we do expect to get the same type of image quality from both the DSLR.

Advance CMOS AF inside Canon 750D – Both camera features approx same sensor size and resolution, but Canon 750D arrived with Hybrid CMOS AF III AF sensor, so while you are shooting stills with live view mode or capturing a video, the Canon will do faster AF compared to the Nikon D5500

The Nikon D5500 do have more Phase AF points compared to Canon 750D, so when you are using the viewfinder the Nikon will do faster Auto Focus compared to Canon 750D.

No optical low-pass filter will capture bit more details compared Canon 750D, but in some case in D5500 image moiré and other artifacts require correction in postproduction.

Videos shooing with Hybrid AF in 750D: Despite of having slow AF speed while shooting videos.. the D5500 captures Full HD Videos @ 60fps, Canon will do faster AF while recording videos..however the Canon Full HD video recording is limited to 30fps.

The display screen, Canon 750D has 3″ pivoting touch screen LCD whereas Nikon D5500 has 3.2″ rear touch screen Swivel LCD, Nikon do have bit bigger screen but Canon have high density display compared to Nikon D5500.

Verdict:  Both camera have same resolution and ISO range, keep in mind that that this time Canon 750D arrived with Hybrid CMOS AF III AF sensor, so while you are shooting stills with live view mode or capturing a video, the Canon will do faster AF compared to the Nikon D5500, however with 39 AF point the Nikon will do fast AF while u are the using viewfinder.

The choice is yours… Entry level shooters those who have habit of shooting images while using the display screen… for them we highly recommend you to buy Canon 750D camera and if you shoot still images only and doesn’t care about the AF speed in live view mode or video mode (since in D5500 only contrast detect is active while live view or movie mode is active) then go with Nikon D5500.

Built-In Wi-Fi Connectivity with NFC available in the Canon 750D, so you can share your images as well as u can use your smart device to capture your beautiful compositions from a distance, on the other hand the D5500 is limited to WiFi connectivity.
