Sony and Fuji do have a long term partnership, As well know that Fuji GFX50 series camera is using Sony 50MP sensor at the same time the upcoming Fuji GFX100 camera will also use Sony 100MP BSI CMOS Sensor. Btw, building a sensor-shift image stabilization system for a 100MP Medium Format sensor is a real challenge.
The camera is set to arrive in the year of 2019 and we may see some kind of development announcement in Photokina 2019 event.
We will update you soon as we get any new information.
New sales data are out of September Month from “Map Camera” Japan. The data shows up the sales report starting from September 1 to September 30.
Before we begin, let me tell you that retailers raking doesn’t reveal any trend. Since, it’s coming out from a specific retailer of a specific region. However it’s worth to notice that how the overall market and people preference now changing, the interest of people now shifted to mirrorless from DSLRs.

1st place: Fuji Film X-T3
2nd: Nikon Z 7
3rd: Sony α7 III
4th: Panasonic LUMIX G9 PRO

6th: Sony α7R III
7th: Sony DSC-RX100 VI

Fuji and Nikon trending at Top Position, after that we have the Sony A7III camera which was announced back on Feb 2018. At fourth Place with the Panasonic G9 and after that we have the only Canon camera in the list – EOS Kiss M. It’s really sad to see the Canon EOS R isn’t able to make its space in the list.
Fuji X-T3 High ISO Noise Performance in RAW mode is not better than the Fuji X-T2 in RAW mode. At the same time the Nikon D500 is showing best noise control. But at the same time the Fuji X-T3 is giving out class leading resolution of 26 MP.
Fuji X-T3 vs Fuji X-T2 vs Nikon D500 vs Sony A6500 – JPEG mode
Even JPEG mode of Fuji X-T2 is slightly better than Fuji X-T3, I want to know your thoughts on this.
Ok we have seen many Fuji XT 3 (B&H | Amazon.com) reviews till now, but this review really impressed me. A very nice and detailed review done by LensProToGo youtube channel.
Fuji X-T3 announced without DCI 4K and Built-in 5 axis IS, you know what I mean here. According to latest rumors surfaced over the web, The Fuji X-H2 camera will have these two feature along with newly developed 26MP X-Trans 4 sensor and X-Processor 4 with Quad CPU. And this time we will also have Internal 4K 10bit 422 internal recording option in next Fuji Cinema FLagship Mirroless camera.
Let’s have look at our list of Expectation with the upcoming Fuji X-H2 camera.
1. 26 MP X-Trans IV Sensor inside Fuji X-H2
Fuji X-H2 camera is expected to have the 26 megapixel X-trans IV sensor. Not only the recently announced 26 megapixel sensor, the camera will also have, Fuji X processor IV with quad core CPU.
We have already seen the power of these two, the recently announced sensor and image processor upscaled the Fuji XT 3 camera performance to a next level. as you can see the company dedicated cinema mirrorless camera limited to 8 bit externally via HDMI where as the Fuji xt3 camera which is more dedicated for sports shooting now records 4k 60p 10 bit internally.
2. Fuji X-H2 4K 60P 4:2:2 10 Bit Internal
As we Fuji X-T3 model that features 4K 60P 4:2:0 10 Bit internal and 4:2:2 External, via HDMI. So, we can expect the introduction of Fuji X-H2 camera will have a major upgrade in the video core specification compared to the predecessor Fuji X-H1. The Fuji X-H1 camera was giving out 8-bit 4:2:2 externally. So, if Fuji adds 4K 60p 4:2:0 10bit internally or even a better option, 10 bit 4:2:2 internally it will be a great thing for professional cinematographers.
3. Extended 30 min. Recording time on 4K/60P
We are not expecting too much here, let me explain to you. The Fuji X-H1 camera was limited to 10 min. on 4K mode and the Fuji X-T3 limited to camera 20 min. on 4K/60P mode, approx. 30 min. on 4K/30P mode. So we are expecting that the future Fyhi X-H2 camera will allow you to record 4K 60p videos for 30min with blazing fast Hybrid AF support.
4. Improved Eye detection AF in Fuji X-H2
It’s bit logical to expect the introduction even a bit more better eye detection AF as we have seen in the Fuji X-T3 camera. Fuji X-H1 doesn’t have any eye AF / tracking function.
5. Better Noise Control in Video Upto 2 Stops
With the introduction of new Noise reduction process with the Fuji X-T3 camera and new “4K interframe NR”. We will see reduced noise at ISO 12800 by the equivalent of approx 2 Stops.
Latest generation of Quad core Fuji X-Processor carries newly developed noise reduction algorithms for Still as well as Video modes. Let’s talk about the video part here, Fuji improved the Noise reduction in video mode by improving the noise identifying accuracy in NR algorithm.
6. Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG)
Hybrid Log Gamma isn’t even available in Fuji X-T3 right now, at the time I am writing this article. But fuji do promised us to add HLG in Fuji X-T3 via a firmware update in near future. So again, it not too much to expect the presence of Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) in Fuji X-H2 at the time if announcement.

Development Announcement from Fuji: Finally Fujifilm is developing their flagship 100 megapixel medium format mirrorless camera, you can say it’s ultimate gfx series medium format camera, which is schedule to arrive in the year of 2019 with a very high price tag.
One of the most interesting thing that we have seen in the prototypes The camera do features 5 Axis image stabilization system and phase detect autofocus pixels inside the hundred megapixel medium format sensor.
One of the most important thing that we have already seen the medium format sensor announcement from Sony in the past year, but those 100 megapixel medium format BSI CMOS sensors or you can say the hundred 50 MB BSI CMOS sensor doesn’t feature built-in phase detect autofocus pixels.
If Fuji film is promising for Phase detect autofocus system in there medium format camera, it’s a clear indication that they have self develop their sensor with their own homegrown Technologies. Possibly the GFX camera will be the first to carry a medium format X-trance sensor, And personally I would love to see X- trans medium format sensor performance when compared to earth medium format BSI sensor performance in near future.
One of the most important thing to know that the camera is also capable to record high quality 4K videos. And at the same time you will have a blazing fast autofocusing speed while creating your 4K videos, thanks to the built-in Hybrid AF Sensor.
And finally we have also got a confirmation from Fuji representatives that all the possible set ofGFX lenses present now and expected to arrive in near future are fully capable to resolve 100 megapixel resolution without an issue.
So, finally we are having a very competitive player in the medium format Battleground, and the space is still empty because we have hasselblad we Phase one but none of them have any promise things system like Fuji GFX system.
We do got some rumours that Phase one is also developing their lineup of medium format mirrorless camera but it still about to be confirmed.
Now one of the most disappointing thing related to the announcement of the so-called hundred megapixel medium format camera is its price, she said the camera will going to cost $10,000 which is of course very high, but at the same time if you compare the cost of the camera with the existing medium format professional solutions available via Phase ONE and hasselblad then you will find it reasonable.
we will update you soon as we get any development announcement or leaves related to the upcoming hundred megapixel medium format camera from Fujifilm.
